No wonder horse racing attendance is declining!
by Anonymous on 2016-07-06Woodbine Racetrack - TorontoFirst, it cost me $40 a ticket to get into the event, then they charged me $12 for a beer. I wanted to purchase a programme and the sign said that there were $2.50, but the lady selling them said that they were actually $5.00, double the advertised cost. I placed my wager on the first race and my horse won. When I attended the wicket to claim my prize money, I was informed that the ticket agent had placed my wager on a horse in the 10th race and not the first race, as I had requested, so I didn't win after all. When the manager attended to explain the situation, I was told that it wasn't his staff's fault for the error; it was mine for not checking the ticket for accuracy. This was the second time we attended the Queen's Plate and our last.
