Night to Remember with Kris Kristofferson

by JoLF on 2017-01-23Casino Rama Resort - Rama

From the moment he walked on stage, no fanfare just him and his guitar we knew it was going to be a special evening. For 90 minutes, he sang song after beautiful song barely giving the audience a chance to applaud and catch its breath. The artistry of his words wove a magical spell around the packed house. Every time he began an old well-loved song there was a collective gasp in the crowd. I think an under-appreciated and under-valued musical icon this man has touched my soul since I was 16. As he admits more a song writer than a song singer his voice is still strong and his words resonant with all ages. Such a wonderful experience. Thank you Kris

Absolutely enjoyed a wonderful show! It was amazing to hear all the beautiful songs by Kris. Truly a wonderful legend!! He also surprised the audience by bringing on Gordon Lightfoot for one song! It was an honour to be there.

    Great concert

by Firebuoy on 2017-01-23Casino Rama Resort - Rama

Very Good and a artist we have wanted to see perform for years. He is a icon that has had more influence on the music scene than will be seen ever again. It's always fulfilling to experience the people that have formed our music culture. I like a lot of others have a lot of respect for the man and his music.

    KRIS Kristofferson

by bling46 on 2013-07-17Red Robinson Show Theatre - Coquitlam

I was very disappointed in his show. He stood for 2 hours and sang songs with the same monotone voice and no showmanship at all. Very boring. He should have sung with his daughter the whole time as shee put some life into the concert.

    Kris keeps getting better!

by ladgpal on 2013-07-16Red Robinson Show Theatre - Coquitlam

I say Kris at the Red Robinson theatre a few years ago and thought the concert was great. Took my wife this time, we were both big fans in the 70's, as she was curious to see what he was like now. He blew us away! All the great songs including the duets with his charming daughter just made for a hell (heck) of a night. Some thing do get better with time!

Mr Kristopherson, I think it is time to retire

by Scamper626 on 2013-07-16Red Robinson Show Theatre - Coquitlam

The tempo of the songs was too slow, the guitar playing was horrible, and it was just a boring show all together.

    Underwhelmed

by Krollster on 2013-07-16Red Robinson Show Theatre - Coquitlam

I went to see a music icon, and it felt a lot like just meeting him in an office somewhere. He stood there with his guitar, made mistakes during the act, and the obnoxious crowd kept yelling stupid things at him like "I can't whistle, Chris" during the performance. It was fun that he had his daughter join him on stage, but she's clearly not a singer or performer that could stand on her own. It was still probably a highlight of the show. The MC told people they could take as many photos as they wanted during the performance, which sucked because it was a big distraction. The old guy next to me literally videoed most of the show with his bright led screen going the whole time. Surely Krisofferson could afford some better show production to make a performance out of it.

Kris Kristofferson show was very enjoyable!

by AdeleC on 2013-07-16Red Robinson Show Theatre - Coquitlam

We enjoyed his laid back manner and his quiet sense of humour. It was touching that he brought his daughter out to sing with him and said that was the most fun for him.

    Kris Kristofferson

by flagstick on 2013-07-16Red Robinson Show Theatre - Coquitlam

77 years young and still pumping out, song after song, without water or even taking a breath. A man of very few words but when he did speak he was witty and brought humour and poked fun at himself throughout the show. This man is a writer, a singer, a movie star, and a father,,,,, and after seeing him on stage and hearing him sing, I feel this man is a story teller. Every song, every word, had a story, a meaning, an example of life. Had a very enjoyable evening and it was touching to see his daughter sharing the stage with her legend father.. p.s. my husband did not fall asleep so that in itself tells you that this performance was enjoyable.

    Kris Kristofferson was Great

by Anonymous on 2013-07-16Red Robinson Show Theatre - Coquitlam

My favorite type of performance. A stage, one man, one harmonica, a great, great story teller. His daughter came out and played 3 songs on banjo with him. Once again I feel like I have witnessed a ledgend. Loved every minute.

    Kris was Awesome!

by WinterAle on 2013-07-14Red Robinson Theatre - Coquitlam

Great show - all he had was his guitar and his music and it was awesome! He was so laid back, peppered the show with stories and even had his daughter join him on stage to sing harmony on some tunes. The tunes were great but what really stood out for me were the words he set to music - he can elegantly capture whatever moment he wants to convey with just a few words, He's quite a poet and I'm glad to have seen his show. The only drawback for me was an older woman sitting near us who was so enthusiastic that she sang every single song, often so loudly (and badly) that we couldn't really hear Kris. He wasn't quiet - she was just disproportionately loud. Audience etiquette - we were there to hear him, not her.

    Kristofferson was Awesome!!!

by Anthem on 2010-12-11River Cree Resort & Casino - Edmonton

I first saw Kris Kristofferson in concert in Edmonton in the late '70's when he was at the Jubilee Auditorium. He was terrific then and now over 30 years later he still captures my soul with his music.

Kris Kristofferson ~ an honest Icon.

by LelB on 2010-11-04River Cree Resort & Casino - Edmonton

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to Mr. Kristofferson’s Concert which was hosted at the River Cree Resort close to Edmonton, Alberta last Saturday. Where to begin with such an icon, such a mature representative of several eras of music, life, and living? It felt like Mr. Kristofferson was on a heartfelt journey to share significant and time worn ballads and to introduce the audience to some newer music; the new words being dedicated to, and all about his relationship with “his kids”. He stood very much naked on a very large stage; armed only with his guitar, harmonica, and humanity. The weathered voice of “the silver tongued devil” recapped with compassion, integrity, honesty, humility, and grace great truths about life and the fragile course of human beings. With the odd self deprecating chuckle Mr. Kristofferson reached the limits of his vocal range and on one or two occasions had to stop for a moment for the words to flow in their correct order ~ but the honesty let the words do the talking and did not go unnoticed by the obviously enraptured audience. He just kept the songs keep coming ~ even when it was obvious that his fingers were starting to hurt from plucking his souful guitar. To recognize at this point in his life and share with dedicated fans: “Ain't it kinda funny Ain't it just the way though Ain't 'cha gettin' better Runnin' out of time Making pretty music Closer to your feelings Working on the reason Running on the rhyme” Thank you Mr. Kristofferson for making the effort to share even more verse and wisdom with your followers of decades past and the years to come!
