About

Cameron Mackintosh presents the acclaimed production of Boublil and Schönberg's Tony Award-winning musical phenomenon, Les Misérables. This brilliant staging has taken the world by storm and has been hailed as "a reborn dream of a production" (Daily Telegraph).

Set against the backdrop of 19th century France, Les Misérables tells an enthralling story of broken dreams and unrequited love, passion, sacrifice and redemption-a timeless testament to the survival of the human spirit. The magnificent score of Les Misérables includes the songs "I Dreamed a Dream," "On My Own," "Bring Him Home," "One Day More" and many more.

  • Stage Lighting was too Dim

by Chizuru on 2018-07-08Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonRating: 3 out of 5

The actors are amazing! Very talented and mesmerising! However the only issue I have is that the stage lighting is just way too dim. I understand that the lighting creates the ambiance of the stage but during the whole play, it was straining my eyes. Considering that my seats are at the first balcony, the price of the seat is not worth it.

  • Les Mis was just ok.

by badcircus on 2018-07-08Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonRating: 3 out of 5

Knowing the music and story, I was disappointed with some performances as the singing was rushed or just not clear. The rest of my group (4 people) were not familiar with the music and so were lost. The last time I saw Les Mis on tour, it was amazing.

  • Great show

by Sandford on 2018-07-08Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

Great show put on with excellent actors. The stage design was well done. The seats we had were up on the first balcony but we still had a good view.

  • Les Miz was oustanding!

by Broken on 2018-07-08Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

The singing of the performers was great. Outstanding stage. All aspects of the show excellent. The only downfall not of the show, but front the audience, is that people still talk and and check their phones during the show.

  • Amazing

I have seen "Les Miz" performed from the local theatre to London. This production was excellent, The singing was magnificent. 1 of the changes from previous productions was the use of a projection system to provide a background to the sets that were used.

  • A lot going On.

by LesMiserableFans on 2018-07-07Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonRating: 3 out of 5

Big story rushed over 3 hours. Singing at times rushed and incomprehensible. For example at the start of the show by Jean Valjean. Voices were muffled or hard to hear. As a result difficult to establish an emotional connection to the story or characters.

  • Great show!

by GoodGrief on 2018-07-07Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonRating: 4 out of 5

We were very impressed by the quality of this production. The acting, music, sets and costuming were all fabulous. Our seats were as good as you can get in the second balcony.

  • Les miserable was just okay

by Kampy on 2018-07-06Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonRating: 3 out of 5

The setting and stage were very very good. They flowed into each other almost seamlessly. Unfortunately the transference of sound and clarity was very poor for the Jube. Some characters, although we could hear them just fine, we couldn’t understand a word they were singing. It wasn’t just me and my date either, the other couple near us said exactly the same thing. It was rather frustrating. I have never had that problem before at the Jube

  • Les Mis' was awesome!

by Theodopolus on 2018-07-06Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

The entire evening was mesmerising! We got a little worried about understanding the words of the opening number but after that it all settled down and was on the edge of our seats the entire time. It was really intense with spectacular scene changes and special affects. This is a must see!

  • Goosebumps

by Nikita98 on 2018-07-06Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

Les Mis never disappoints! The voices of Jean Valjean and the older Cosette were spine tingling. The special effects, such as when inspector Javert jumped off the bridge were so cool! My only disappoint was the younger Cosette’s voice in castle on a cloud. I was swept away in this classic tale and would see it over and over!

Theatre fantastic. Went into play a les mis virgin. Was a little hard to follow but staging, acting, singing and props etc were very impressive. Very well done, would go see it again and maybe understand it better
