About

Cameron Mackintosh presents the acclaimed production of Boublil and Schönberg's Tony Award-winning musical phenomenon, Les Misérables. This brilliant staging has taken the world by storm and has been hailed as "a reborn dream of a production" (Daily Telegraph).

Set against the backdrop of 19th century France, Les Misérables tells an enthralling story of broken dreams and unrequited love, passion, sacrifice and redemption-a timeless testament to the survival of the human spirit. The magnificent score of Les Misérables includes the songs "I Dreamed a Dream," "On My Own," "Bring Him Home," "One Day More" and many more.

Great Performance! High quality! Worth your money!

  • Disappointed

Been to Les Mis 8 times this was by far the worst performance. Sound quality terrible and acting exaggerated and generally bad. Felt like an expensive wasted evening would have preferred to just stay home and watch the movie

  • Awesome!

This was really great. I laughed, I cried, I sang along to most of the songs.

Beautiful, strong singers and musicians, a wonderful story and a lovely venue. Not enough "intermission" time at 15 mins. especially when it was a packed house.

  • Great show!

Felt this is the quickest 2hr 55mins in my life! Amazing performance by all the casts. I personally felt Jean Valjean was outstanding and beyond my expectation! Thank you for the great show!

  • Disappointing

While I’m a fan of the play, the acoustics were poor and the lyrics were mostly not discernible.

  • Amazingly awsome

Please let me known when they will be in again. I will definitely go back and bring a few friends. Thank you so much for bringing such a beautiful play right here in Edmonton.

The production was OK but not worth the amount paid for the tickets . I would place it about one notch slightly higher than a local playhouse production.

  • Les Miserables was long but fantastic!

My son and I had an awesome time at the play! The actors did a great job portraying the characters, the costumes week beautiful and the set enhanced each scene. It would be nice if you made the venue SCENT FREE. Not everyone likes the gallons of perfume you choose to wear or may have allergies to all scents!

  • Les Mes never fails to amaze

its been a few years since I saw the last production and I had actually forgotten a good bit of the story line so it was like watching it for the first time. My 12 year old came with me as she knew some of the songs but not the story. Wow, we were blown away. I kept in my tears for the of the show but when Fontaine came out at the end, well, I lost it, blubbering all over the place. The singing was top notch, the acting and set really good. I only wish I had paid a little more and sat closer to the front but the sound in the Jubilee was amazing so we didn't forfeit any quality loss. "Bring him home" is stuck in my head as always! If you get a chance to see Colm Wilkinson when he is visiting the city, he is a must see. Original Jean Val. wow.

  • An enchanting evening

This was my second time seeing this wonderful production. this time i had the pleasure of taking a friend who hadn't experienced theatre. It was such a good experience for us from the moment we arrived the team members were so friendly and helpful, the atmosphere in the Queen Elizabeth was full excitement and an Amazing production. I'd gladly see it again; and perhaps get closer seats hehe

Superb casting, beautiful voices of all lead singers however we found the dialogue very hard to understand. Disappointed to see the cuts which changed the progression of the storyline. Missed the timeline indicators which were used in the original show.

  • Les miz was awesome!

The cast, the set , the orchestra was all amazing!

  • Music was great, sets too dark

by ThreeGenerations on 2018-07-11Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonRating: 3 out of 5

We enjoyed the music and singing at Les Miserables. Some of the performers have amazing voices. However, we found the sets and lighting so dark it was hard to see what was going on at some points. We realize this is a "dark" somber story, but everything was so dark we found it hard to follow.

  • Amazing

by KaraTStarbuck on 2018-07-11Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

The show was spectacular. A Masterclass production. Nick Cartell's voice was so beautiful. His portrayal of Jean Valjean brought me to tears. Josh Davis' voice was thunderous and his presence was absolutely menacing: a perfect Javert!

Fantastic orchestra and voices! Took my 7,9, and 11 year olds as well!
