    Louis CK = Laughter pains

by PirateKitty on 2009-11-08MacEwan Hall - Calgary

There was no opening act (or we just missed it), but that was good because the event didn't run on too long. Louis was hilarious, I had a stomach cramp and my face hurt by the end from all the laughing.

    Louis C K is a true artist!

by Rfinnigan on 2009-11-08Myer Horowitz Theatre - Edmonton

Louis C K is a true comedian he has an excellent stage presence and honestly allows me to lose myself in his bit. I love comedy and I have to say that this man is at the top of my list, the quality of the material is right up my alley. Aside from the videos on youTube I never recall seeing him reuse his material over and over again (as some comedians do). It is mind-blowing to me that this man can continue to come up with quality fresh material. Thank you Louis CK for a wonderful show!!!

    Louie delivered

by ElJefe on 2009-11-07Myer Horowitz Theatre - Edmonton

Pretty damn good show that I had been waiting for for a while now. I think it would have been a lot nicer at the Jubilee though. Louie had a new routine but recycled a lot of delivery. Still very funny and entertaining throughout bot not quite as good as I had hoped. A lot of the material was American based which made it hard for the audience to relate in parts. Also, the crass nature which he is famous for seemed a bit juvenile at times with the bathroom humor. Overall a great show and would go see it again.

    Funniest Man Alive

by Slaney on 2009-11-07Myer Horowitz Theatre - Edmonton

Louis was excellent! All new material, as funny as anything I've seen him do yet, and of course, with a perfect delivery. I especially enjoyed the impromptu complaints about the sound at the theatre, and the fact that there was no opening act.

    more pathetic than funny

by vjys on 2009-11-07Myer Horowitz Theatre - Edmonton

a couple of funny moments but for the most part he was waaaaay to bitter. My cheeks didn't hurt at the end of the night and they should ALWAYS hurt after a night of good comedy.

The show last night was great! I hadn't heard much of his comedy before, I was not disappointed! My fav was the comments about his children/kids in general. so funny, so true.

Brutally honest, no holds barred, Louis CK basically cut down human beings to nothing and it was hysterical. Highly recommended. Better than any of the TV special comics. The guy can flat out riff.

Louis might be the funniest guy on the planet!

by dlaff on 2009-11-07Myer Horowitz Theatre - Edmonton

I don't know what else I could say here. The guy has brilliant stand-up. Actually a smart, articulate and insightful comedian. The only other comedian I've seen that could match wits is Russell Brand; but that's because his stream of conciousness was opened up by all the drugs he took.

    Great show, lousy venue

by mogilles on 2009-11-07Myer Horowitz Theatre - Edmonton

Thank god Louis CK is funny, because the venue sucked. The sound problems for the first half an hour of the show were a major distraction forcing Louis to having to mention it about 5 times before someone actually fixed it. Despite all that, it was exactly what I was hoping for from Louis CK. Crass, rude, depressing, and perfectly hilarious. If he ever comes again, I will definitely go, but I would hope it's somewhere else other than the Horowitz.
