Loverboy came in and put on an excellent show. They worked hard and made the night truly enjoyable!!! It was good to see that all of the band members still enjoy laying down the tunes. Way to go gentlemen!! Barney was fun too! Thanks for a great night out for my wife and I.

They sounded even better then they did 30 years ago.

  • Barney amazing, loverboy needs to lose weight . .

Barney Bentall was better than Loverboy - the only thing good thing about loverboy were their three hits songs they played. - lead singer needs to lose weight though - a little weird seeing him bounce around the stage - Barney Bentall and his band were so great to listen too, great time Barney - thank you!!!

We enjoyed the concert very much. Barney Bentall was very energetic and played to the crowd. Loverboy started off a little slow but worked up to having most of the crowd standing and cheering. They played 2 encores and we left smiling.

  • Awesome!

    by AH1974 on 2010-01-15Commodore Ballroom - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

Was awesome! Mike Reno still sounds great after all these years, although you wouldn't know lookin at him is same person! They do all good ones like Kid's Hot tonight, Hot girls in Love, etc, need to do mo' from mid-80's like Dangerous, This could be the night, and heaven in your eyes. They rarely if ever do those, other than that, is awesome! Wish they'd do red Robinson and River Rock cuz Commodore shows start too late, is stuffy in there!

  • Loverboy still rocks after 30 years

    by Blonde68 on 2010-01-12Commodore Ballroom - VancouverRating: 4 out of 5

THis was our 4th time seeing Loverboy in the last 4 years. 3rd time at the Commodore. Great venue, great show. Loved the fact that the music the Commodore played before the show and in between opening act & Loverboy was hits from the 80's...made the whole night enjoyable! Loverboy still rocks after soooo many years! Really enjoyed ourselves!!! Look forward to next years show!!!!

Seen them 30 years ago when they first started out they played at the Pacific Coliseum Mike Rino may be heavier but he plays from the heart like the rest of the band pure adrenaline junkies seeing them again at the Commodore Ballroom just proves they still have the heart and soul to keep us all rockin. All the best and hope to see them again.

We had front row center standing room only & was FANTASTIC !!!! They played a lot of the new album & personally I would have liked to hear a bit more mixture of they older better music!! But was still great.

What can I say......Loverboy never disappoints! I saw them last year at The Commodore, and they put on the same terrific show! They can rock the place down and keep us on our feet all night long dancing! Their music is ageless, and they keep the songs alive with their amazing energy! The solos were awesome and just goes to show that age is just a number. :) They have amazing stamina and I will continue to see them in the future! LOVIN EVERY MINUTE OF IT! :) Love you guys forever! xo Aqua100

It was great to see the older crowd out and still partying! The music was awesome, Mike's voice still has it, totally fun event! Should have more of these events!!!!!!!! I'd be there! The Commodore is still the best venue to see a live band!

  • 30 years and still rockin'!

Impresive concert! All the guys with extrem power and precision! Perfect!!!! I'm just sad because they didn't play my favorite song "Love will rise again", but it doesn't matter overall...

  • Loverboy was outstanding

by HarleyKen on 2010-01-10Commodore Ballroom - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

So much to like about them, their energy, great vocals, a true rock band who are super talented musicians who have mastered their instruments individually and are so polished as a group. The venue was good except for the sound. I love loud, coming at you rock, but the base was so cranked up that it was distorted and you couldn't make out many words or hear the other instruments well. Is there a way to fix that problem in that venue...I was not alone with that observation. Thanks

I go to these types of concerts to hear the band play all their big hits, with a bit of new stuff thrown in OK. So, I loved that Loverboy did Working for the Weekend, Turn Me Loose, etc, but would have preferred if they opened the show with a big, powerful hit rather than working up to them, then leave us with a big hit at the end, as they did. The one long tune with the awesome drum solo was spectucular, but too much mediocre stuff in the middle, in my view. Loved Mike Reno's interaction with the audience, and the cake for his birthday great ... why didn't we all REALLY sing happy birthday in a big way to him? Would have made it more personal. About the Commodore, really did not like that I was forced to immediate entry after picking up my tickets at will call ... really, I don't like being your prisoner. don't like red wine out of a can at $10 each, would have liked to know that there was an opening acct and that Loverboy would not come on stage until after 10:30pm, and will think twice about coming back again.
