Loverboy
by Favfan on 2010-01-09Commodore Ballroom - VancouverRating: 4 out of 5I go to these types of concerts to hear the band play all their big hits, with a bit of new stuff thrown in OK. So, I loved that Loverboy did Working for the Weekend, Turn Me Loose, etc, but would have preferred if they opened the show with a big, powerful hit rather than working up to them, then leave us with a big hit at the end, as they did. The one long tune with the awesome drum solo was spectucular, but too much mediocre stuff in the middle, in my view. Loved Mike Reno's interaction with the audience, and the cake for his birthday great ... why didn't we all REALLY sing happy birthday in a big way to him? Would have made it more personal.
About the Commodore, really did not like that I was forced to immediate entry after picking up my tickets at will call ... really, I don't like being your prisoner. don't like red wine out of a can at $10 each, would have liked to know that there was an opening acct and that Loverboy would not come on stage until after 10:30pm, and will think twice about coming back again.
