Lucky Daye on Tour
Off the heels of his hit album Candydrip, New Orleans singer/songwriter Lucky Daye is hitting the road across the United States for the 2022 Candydrip Tour. Daye's style blurs the lines between contemporary sub-genres within R&B with hints of soul and funk and influences from genre giants like Miss Lauryn Hill, Prince and Stevie Wonder. In 2019, Lucky Daye released his debut 13-track studio album titled Painted which garnered critical praise, leading to four Grammy nominations at the 63rd Grammy Awards including Best R&B Performance, Best Traditional R&B Performance, Best R&B Song and Best R&B Album. As a result of the positive momentum, Lucky Daye opened for Khalid on his Free Spirit Tour in Australia and New Zealand. Daye is praised by concertgoers for his intimate stage presence, putting his heart and soul into live performances.
Lucky Daye in Concert
Born on September 25, 1985, David Debrandon Brown is originally from New Orleans, Louisiana and you can feel the southern, soulful influence in his records. Despite navigatings a series of tumultuous events in his youth like being raised in a local cult that forbade conventional music and being displaced by Hurricane Katrina, Daye re-established himself in Atlanta, Georgia where he now resides. His first peek into the spotlight came in 2005, when he competed in Season 4 of "American Idol". He received unanimous praise from the four judges and Randy Jackson called it the best performance he had heard "since we have been doing this for four seasons." Shortly after being eliminated from American Idol, Daye's career evolved into both a songwriter and supporting vocalist over the next 10 years. He received credits with hit artists like Ne-Yo, Boyz II Men, Trey Songz and Mary J. Blige. Daye's solo career blossomed in October 2018 when he signed to Keep Cool and RCA Records. Shortly thereafter, he released his first single, the Grammy-nominated "Roll Some Mo." That and "Real Games" were the leading singles on Painted (2020). He followed that up with the Grammy-nominated EP Two of a Kind (2021), which features an intro and six duets with the likes of Ari Lennox and Yebba. Candydrip released in March of 2022 and features guest appearances from Smino and Lil Durk.

Doors opened at 7:00 and I got there around 6:30, lined up, and was still able to stand in the first 3 rows from the barricade (I'm 5'0 and still saw everything!)

He is even BETTER live than he is on his songs. He has an amazing energy live, he is engaging with the crowd and even jumped into the crowd. He is so fun and energetic and sings with so much passion. His visuals for his background were so fun and colourful. One of my favourite concerts.
