  • Sound quality, level & feedback awful, too loud.

by Vanilla on 2024-06-11Queen Elizabeth Theatre - VancouverRating: 4 out of 5

While we were excited to see Jon Batiste, the quality of the sound and loudness was unacceptable. We even considered leaving at one point. Never have I had such an experience at this venue or other performances. For the first half of the performance I couldn’t understand many of the words. Not a very good experience.

  • Absolutely Fabulous

by Liz on 2024-06-09Queen Elizabeth Theatre - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

Jon is a very talented musician. He plays the piano like Oscar Peterson and that’s a very high compliment. As well Jon plays a variety of instruments, he composes and is able to conduct a full orchestra. See his documentary on Netflix called American Symphony to learn more about this talented man. His show at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre in Vancouver was joyful and outstanding. I enjoyed it thoroughly

  • Participation Mandatory

by Rotteson on 2024-06-07Queen Elizabeth Theatre - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

Besides being one of the most musically talented people I have seen at a concert, Jon and his band members are driven to spread their passion for music to the audience. Did not want to leave this synergy that they provided us.

  • Outstanding / uplifting

    by M.Titus on 2024-06-07Queen Elizabeth Theatre - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

To tell you the truth , I didn’t know what to expect - my only knowledge of Mr. Batiste was from his time on the Steve Cobert show - To experience this man’s passion and joy of music, to experience his genius and gift was truly powerful. It was evident with every song, every phrase, every note. And to top it off , his show ending with him and his band, giving very personal and up-close moments to many of us in the audience. Based on his performance alone, I am a fan for life. If Jon Batiste is coming to a venue near you,,,,,,, Go!!!

  • One of the BEST!

by MinorChord on 2024-06-07Queen Elizabeth Theatre - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

I have never seen a Vancouver crowd (in a smaller venue at least - big arenas are another story) so incredibly engaged and enthusiastic. It all starts with the artist though and Jon's passion and love for music clearly shines through - so very glad to have had the chance to see him live. I have seen countless numbers of concerts in my lifetime and this was definitely one of the very best! And to think - this is just the beginning! Looking forward to all the great music that Jon will produce going forward!

  • Fabulous!

by Tan on 2024-06-07Queen Elizabeth Theatre - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

Unbelievably uplifting and entertaining experience but mostly just a chance to see an incredible artist and musician who brought the audience together with dancing, singing and love and laughter. Only wish it was longer. The set was 1 hour and an interactive audience encore as he wove through the audience which was very special.

  • talented but too short

by drdiva on 2024-06-07Queen Elizabeth Theatre - VancouverRating: 3 out of 5

So disappointed by the late start and only one hour of actual concert music before Jon Batiste became the pied piper. Hi musical talent is remarkable only wish there was more.

I saw Jon Batiste in Seattle a couple of months ago and was stoked to see him again in Vancouver. I have to assume he was not feeling well on Tuesday night as he was late starting, he only performed for about 75 minutes, seemed manic and unfocused, and spent a good portion of the show having the audience singing and taking up time. On top of that the sound was too loud and at times distorted with feedback - something my friend and I both commented on. Disappointing evening all in all. Still a big fan of Mr Batiste though. He is a very talented artist
