If you are a fan of the sport or know someone competing it is a great show to see...
However, for both spectator and contestant it is WAY TOO long... I have attended this event on and off for many years, but there are now too many different classes between men and women for it to all be held on a single day. I only attended the finals this year which started at 5:00 pm, so I was there from around 4:30 until the very end for the super heavy weights which finished at around 11:20 (7 hours)... For my son who was a competitor he had been there all day since 8:30 am, way to hard for these athletes who are depleted from food and water in so many ways.
Even with intermissions this is way too long for anyone to be at one event, people get bored or leave right after certain events instead of staying for the complete show. As a result the competitors that are in the last part of the show do not have the same support which is a shame.
For this to attract more people or for repeat spectators, I think it should be broken down to two shows on different days, men on one.. and women on the other. I am sad to say I would not attend again unless I had someone specific I wanted to see....
On another note I was disappointed they do not allow camera's, I thought it was poor that you could not take a picture of the contestants.
I recommend and rate only from my enjoyment of the sport and the product on stage, but not the event its self.
