Madison Cunningham on Tour

Two-time Grammy nominee Madison Cunningham combines elements of folk-rock, pop and country with earnest, literate songwriting in an ambitious sound that's all her own. Earning comparisons to renowned troubadours Joni Mitchell and Jeff Buckley, Cunningham has amassed several notable fans -- from Harry Styles to Andrew Bird. Releasing the full-length album, Revealer, in September 2022, she headlines an accompanying 2022 North American tour and plays several summer festival dates.

After winning audiences over opening for Styles at his sold-out Madison Square Garden shows in 2021 with her self-assured style, Cunningham takes the spotlight in 2022 on her own headlining tour. Equally comfortable rocking out on guitar and infusing classical elements into her complex songwriting, she knows how to captivate listeners. Be sure to grab your tickets to see this rising star in intimate venues before she's headlining arenas herself.

Madison Cunningham Live in Concert

Raised in Costa Mesa, California, by a father who was a pastor, Madison Cunningham grew up singing in church alongside her four sisters, honing her vocal chops. At age 7 she picked up a guitar and became hooked, later progressing to writing her own material as a teenager influenced by her love of Bob Dylan and Joni Mitchell as well as classical music.

Cunningham released her debut EP, Love, Lose, Remember in 2017, after which the rave reviews began pouring in. Rolling Stone called her "a gifted instrumentalist and evocative singer" and credited her with "carving out a singular, genre-diverse sound."

Cunningham's 2019 full-length album, Who Are You Now, produced by Grammy-nominated artist/producer Tyler Chester (Sara Bareilles), received much critical acclaim and ended up receiving a Grammy nomination for Best Americana Album. In 2020, during the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, Cunningham released the EP Wednesday, featuring a collection of cover songs by artists including Radiohead, Tom Waits and John Mayer. While some fans were hoping for an album of original material to follow Who Are You Now, Cunningham said she wanted to put out songs people were already familiar with to bring comfort during the difficult time. It was also inspired by her YouTube series Cunningham's Weekly Wednesday Covers in which she records video covers of songs by everyone from The Beatles to Gillian Welch, putting her own unique stamp on each tune. It was clearly a good choice, as the expanded version of Wednesday earned her a 2022 Grammy nomination for Best Folk Album.

As Cunningham grows ever more comfortable in her own skin, she has become more confessional in her songwriting. She says that 2022's Revealer is a "warts-and-all self-portrait" of a young artist full of doubt and uncertainty. Meanwhile, you'd never suspect it judging from the singer/songwriter's self-assured style and how she commands audiences at her live shows.
