About

Comedian. Actor. Musician. Advocate. Entrepreneur. Five-time Grammy and Emmy nominee.  Margaret Cho's strong voice has been lighting the path for other women, other members of underrepresented groups, other performers, to follow. Her recent television appearances - guest star on Season 2 of The Flight Attendant (HBO Max), guest star on Season 2 of Hacks (HBO Max) and two Netflix is a Joke comedy specials: Stand Out: An LGBTQ+ Celebration and Jane Fonda & Lily Tomlin: Ladies Night Live - have expanded an already wide-ranging career, and her role as the 'mother hen' in the well-reviewed movie Fire Island solidifies why we all love Margaret in the first place.

As a comedian Margaret has been named one of Rolling Stone magazine's 50 Best Stand-Up Comics of All Time, one of Vogue magazine's Top 9 Female Comedians of all time, while CNN chose her as one of the 50 People Who Changed American Comedy.  Thankfully, Margaret has more stories to tell, and her production company, Animal Family Productions, has multiple scripted shows in development for 2022 and beyond.

by madmadelaine on 2010-11-12Massey Hall - Toronto

her show was very short this time... funny... and less political... but i guess she is running out on material... not worth the $80 for the ticket... love her... very disappointed tho...

Cho: Cool And Confident As Ever

by Gladiator on 2010-10-25Massey Hall - Toronto

Margaret Cho exclaimed that Massey Hall is one of her favourite places to play! Touching on political topics (gay marriage, gay suicides), her stint on the Dancing With The Stars show, and her Korean roots, Cho delivered a show that was funny, exciting, dynamic and sinful in a very confident, strong, soulful voice! Musical numbers were funny and cool. Her voice reminded me of Deborah Harry at times. The biggest shock of the night was the amount of weight she lost in her big black shiny boots and in her sleek dark tight leather pants. Cho's fat jokes were gone from this show as was her excess mass. Congratulations to her and her sexy new look!

    Too vulgar for my taste

by maddpenguin on 2010-10-25Massey Hall - Toronto

I found Margaret Cho extremely funny when i saw her show on the Comedy network so i was excited to see her live. i was surprized at the language and the overwheling gay sex content.

    She's hilarious and a freak!!!

by Hechy on 2010-10-25Massey Hall - Toronto

Who knew Margaret was sooooo sexual, nonetheless she is funny as hell. She killed the sexuality jokes to death and it became a bit repetitive in terms of content but again shes was funny

    Margaret Cho always a hit!

by Heyhomee on 2010-10-24Massey Hall - Toronto

It wasn't as good as her "Beautiful" show I thought, but it was still hilarious! I'm not sure why they didn't remove the table full of wigs from the opening act while Margaret was on, it was pretty distracting, especially if you sat close to the stage. Margaret was definitely funny with fresh material and my cheeks hurt from laughing! Well done!

An advocate, a musician, and a damn good comic!

by kummie on 2010-10-24Massey Hall - Toronto

Margaret's relevance and observations always keeps up with the times. I had more fun at her show than I did at Wicked! from a gay, that is saying a lot!

    Margaret Cho was so funny

by Jlambo on 2010-10-24Massey Hall - Toronto

Before going to the show, I kinda expect Margaret will talk about some politics in Canada. Instead, she talks about gay lifestyle. It is funny I must say. However, if anyone is not Metrosexual and expect some joke without any gayness. That won't work for them. I see some people were not happy about the show. To me, that was unexpectedly funny and the jokes you won't get it from other female comedian. Margaret. You rock.

    Cho is always a GO!

by TOKylieLover on 2010-10-24Massey Hall - Toronto

Margaret Cho is always hilarious! However, you must appreciate her style of humor. Bawdy jokes about bodily functions, homosexuality and US politics, and her unintentionally hilarious family are not for everyone. Massey Hall is a great venue for her, and the giant screen and stage were both easily visible from my main floor far right seat. Her opening act of John Roberts (I think ?) was sometimes funny but not hilarious, but a good warm up, and he also came out and sang a very funny song with Margaret later in the show. Overall, almost 2 hours of solid fun and frivolity! Love you Margaret!!!!

We enjoyed our night with Margaret at Massey Hall. As usual she entertained us well! We would have loved to have heard more material on her 'Mother' but heh, what we did hear had us rolling in our seats. She's a baaaad girl.

Excellent - 2nd time seeing Margaret at the Jub. Liam Kyle Sullivan opened the show-the Kelly Let Me Borrow That Top comedian-and he was very good. Stand up, singing, dancing - Margaret was Awesome! She always does such a great job live. It was fun to see her Dancing with the Stars partner & a men's choir join her for the finale.

    Cho had huge laughs

by jockswimmer on 2010-10-04Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

Margaret Cho had me almost peeing my pants. I knew she was funny but her 'I wish I was a gay man' and all that it entailed brought tears to my eyes as I was laughing so hard. Her sense of humor goes a long way and is so appreciated by the 75% gay crowd that attended her concert. She is smart, quick, contemporary, dirty, sexual, and out loud hilarious. Everyone should attend 1 Cho routine at least once in your life to forget your troubles and just laugh, laugh, laugh.
