    Get Lucky Tour Vancouver

by Macaense on 2010-04-10Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

Show started one hour late (it was preceded by an half hour opening act) and Mark's mic wasn't working well all the time. The sound system was just mediocre.

    Mark Knopfler has the touch

by PoppaG on 2010-04-10Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

Don't expect a big flashy rock show, but do expect to see one of the worlds best guitarists. For over two hours Mark played a great mix of his solo work with some classic Dire Straights. His band was amazing with a wide range of intruments that never missed a beat. The screen behind him would show two camera angles of Mark and his guitar, one for each hand.

    Knopfler Rocks

Unbelievable. Great band, tight, talented and inspired. No flashy stage sets, just seriously talented musicians doing what they love. Don't miss this.

    Knopfler was outstanding

by Simbadog on 2010-04-10Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

Brilliant show. Not sure his voice was on top form but his guitar playing and the band were outstanding. A real treat.

    Knopfler gets Better and Better

by pinkcar on 2010-04-10Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

The brilliant Mark Knopfler pleased a sell-out crowd in Vancouver with a long, solid concert of his incredible music. He and his 7 musicians worked hard; Mark came out and performed nearly an hour of solid music before he spoke a word. His recorded songs are beautiful and when he performs them live he enriches them, plays with them, riffs on them, gives us moments of near-silence and moments of crashing, symphonic rock beauty.

Mark Knopfler and his band was awesome!!

by boulevard on 2010-04-10Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

M K's performance was perfect. Each member of his band was amazing on their own but played together flawlessly. They obviously appreciated the audience as much as we appreciated them. The production was outstanding; lighting and the large screen were used to great effect without overwhelming the performers. Note: no cameras were allowed but two people in rows ahead of us took pictures and it was really distracting and annoying (centre, 5th row and 3rd row, you know who you are).

    Mark Knopfler's audience "Gets Lucky"!

by Catchlight on 2010-04-10Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

After three standing ovations and five encores it was uncertain who would leave Vancouver's Queen Elizabeth Theatre first, the audience or the band, because nobody seemed willing to end a superb evening of music on Knopfler's first Canadian stop on his Get Lucky tour. Knopfler and his all-star seven-man group dazzled with their musicianship, and their respect for the audience, each other, and Mark's huge inventory of great tunes, from the Dire Straits days to his newest CD, Get Lucky. And get lucky is exactly what last night's audience did.

    Seems like a nice man

by strum on 2010-04-10Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

Excellent veteran musicians going through the motions. The material was all well handled but there seemed to be a real lack of transcendent moments.
