  • Mason Jennings was awesome! As usual ;)

by theHULK on 2011-10-19Venue - VancouverRating: 4 out of 5

Mason Jennings concert was wonderfully intimate. He played new and old songs, and stayed a bit afterwards to chat and take some photos with fans. It however started late and we missed the last train.

This is a must see show. It is soo much fun. Mason is such a wonderful song writer and a very very nice guy. He was so polite and kind to all his fans. Thanking them many times and sharing several stories about him and his music. He is my favorite musician and I actually got to meet him before the show on the street. I was wearing a shirt with his name on it and he came up to me to say hello. He was very chill and awesome! He remembered me after the show too when he was meeting other fans! Sooo cool!!

  • Next stop... Guelph!

    by Mason2Guelph on 2009-10-30Mod Club Theatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

I've been waiting to see Mason Jennings since he left Toronto last year, after playing the Mod Club for his "In The Ever" tour. As long as it felt, it was worth the wait! Mason's music has a way of calming you down to the point where you just lean against the stage and soak it in, and the then two minutes later he's blasting out "Ain't No Friend of Mine" and you can't help but groove. I had an incredible experience and the only downfall is that now I'm left playing the waiting game again, hoping he's going to pop up to Canada in the near future... maybe Guelph?

  • Mason is the real deal.

Best show we've ever been to, hands down. Mason is the man. Can't wait to see him again. Sincerely, Mike & Katie

  • Authentic Sound

by reetska on 2009-10-24Mod Club Theatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Fans will agree, despite last night's miserable weather, we were warmed with a fantastic show put on by Mason Jennings and band. Arriving at the concert completely soaked and cold, my sister and I aimed to keep high spirits, starting it right with two Black Russians. Mason came on stage welcomed with a roar of cheers and smiles. Opening with 'Black Wind Blowing' off his new album 'Blood of Man' instantly had me moving and singing along. What you hear on his C.D.'s is what you will hear at his concerts. An authentic genuine sound. His band mates, Chris-base, Jacob-guitar/wicked tambourine-man and Brian on drums drove the beat of the evening, moving the crowd to cheer for more. There were not as many dancers as I had hoped, I highly recommend letting loose and dancing, it's a lot more fun. Overall: fantastic, would definitely go see Mason Jennings and his band play again.

  • great but short

    by opo77777 on 2009-10-24Mod Club Theatre - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

Mason is awesome. I loved the concert, but he didn't play very long and didn't play any of his "signature songs". He played for about an hour or so, didn't really get into things too much and left kinda abruptly. He did come back for a 2 song encore but I still didn't have enough. No butterfly, Buddah or livin in the moment. Kinda disappointing but he still puts on a great show.

  • Mason Jennings at Mod Club Oct 23-09

by MasonFan on 2009-10-24Mod Club Theatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

This is the second year I've seen Mason at the Mod Club in Toronto. I've been a fan for several years. Mason Jennings is a unstoppable songwriter who has been pumping out album after album of great music. I must admit I have a habit of loosing interest in an artist as there style changes over time.. This is not the case with Mason. He keeps growing as an artist and I'm never disappointed. Mason has turned things up a bit. He's now touring as a 4-piece band that includes a new guitarist that did a pretty good job adding some new layers to Mason's sound. Mason released his new album a month ago. I managed to hold off buying it so that I could hear all the new music live for the first time. I loved it all. He can start a song off so slow and then rock into dark melodic instrumental interludes that can get really heavy. He does a lot with his acoustic guitar. He didn't play a lot of his old stuff (which I love) but it was hard to be disappointed as he keeps writing such strong music and lyrics and his new songs are so good. He's a great example of an artist who doesn't rely on the success one catchy song to get the crowd on it's feet. Keep it up Mason.. we love you in Toronto.
