Matisyahu delivers for an awesome show!

    by Jonny25 on 2014-04-28Commodore Ballroom - Vancouver

My friend and I had been wanting to see Matisyahu again since he had played in Vancouver at the Winter Olympics in 2010 but when it came to the night of July 27th we both almost canceled due to be under the weather. I am very happy to say we ended up pulling through and going to the show anyways and were not disappointed. Matisyahu was a little late showing up and got off to a little of a slow start but once he got going he was amazing. He sounded as good, if not better, then he does on all his recorded music. The beatboxing he did later on in the show didn't sound like it was human but as if it had been done on a computer. We were front row next to the stage and near the end of the show Matisyahu jumped into the crowd unexpectedly and landed right on us before being carried away in a crown surf. It was quite surreal to be apart of that. All in all I would definitely see Matisyahu and his band again especially for the price tickets are going for to see them live!

    Matisyahu was amazing

by Vezsy on 2011-09-09The Phoenix Concert Theatre - Toronto

Matisyahu was so sick. Inspirational lyrics, passionate, heart-felt performance and the slickest band I've heard live in a while. I was impressed. His band is so tight and the impromptu jam sessions were amazing. Extremely talented performer and what a message he is spreading. The world needs more love like that. The opening band sounded a lot like Matisyahu which I found weird...I know they usually pair up with like-minded artists, but they were almost like a duplicate band, with a touch of Creed.

Amazing Show, If Only We Could Hear The Lyrics

by VeryFancy on 2011-09-09The Phoenix Concert Theatre - Toronto

Matisyahu put on an incredible show, you could tell everyone was into the music. I didn't know the first two bands but they had great energy & had me dancing. My only issue is with the sound at the Phoenix, it was impossible to hear the singers. I would have really enjoyed actually hearing what the first two bands had to say in their lyrics but you couldn't hear them. The only reason I understood Matisyahu was because I knew what he was singing. It's two days later & my ears are still ringing, which may be fun for some people but I don't think permanent damage to my ear drums is a good thing. I'll definitely see Matisyahu again but not if it's at the Phoenix. Actually, I will avoid the Phoenix and hope my hearing returns to normal.

Matisyahu is a magnetic performer. As illuminating as his music is, seeing him live is transcendent!

Loved Matisyahu, but a bit too long of a waiting. Seems like the show was running a bit late.

Good venue space wise but the sound quality kinda sucked. The show was good, good music, good vibe, he even did some crowd surfing.

    Matisyahu got lost

by IandI on 2009-12-01The Phoenix Concert Theatre - Toronto

the opening act SOJA was amazing they had energy and had everyone dancing. Matisyahu started off a bit strange then started building up only to go right back down and never come back up, he was just saying words had his eyes closed and was not even interacting with the crowd. I left a half hour early.
