Matt Nathanson was, as always, funny and smart. Love the audience banter throughout the show. I love the new album, but it was great to hear some of the old favorites. I never miss a chance to see Matt live. The Great Hall was a good venue to see him in, we had balcony tickets and so we had a great unobstructed view all night.
Awesome venue......he was amazing, so funny, talented and really got into a groove with the audience Loved his rendition of Tragically Hip Will go again.
I wasn't sure what to expect with this doubleheader because I only had known a few songs each of both of these artists, but on this night, they rocked the stage and made a new fan out of me. Both of them were spectacular and had the crowd singing along every step of the way.
We came. We saw. They conquered. Perfect in every way.
I went to this show mainly to see Gavin DeGraw, and as always, he doesn't disappoint. He's a great performer and gives a lively show. I only knew one or 2 of Matt Nathanson's songs before the show and like I said, I really only went to the show for Gavin. Matt's performance won me over and he gained a fan that night! He's very entertaining and interacts with the audience during the show. We ended up meeting him after the show and he is so nice and down to earth. It was my first Matt Nathanson show, but it definitely will not be my last. If you get a chance to catch either artist, go, you won't be disappointed!
This event was amazing. Matt Nathanson is HILARIOUS in person and was so interactive with the audience. Gavin Degraw was great as well. Really confident. Sound academy is a great venue, with lots of outdoor space and a beautiful view over lake Ontario, and of the Toronto skyline.
I brought my 13-year-old daughter to see Matt. It was her first concert because Selena Gomez from a mile away doesn't count. I didn't realize how often I must play his music because she knew (and sang along) the words to more than half the songs! Anyway, Matt sounded awesome. He was funny and so entertaining. He actually tries to get the crowd involved. He made me (the whole audience, I believe) feel like being there is exactly where he wanted to be. No small feat. Had my kid laughing her face off, too. What more could a mother ask of a rockstar? Then I bought a t-shirt and was handed a meet and greet wristband. I thought it was a keepsake, but no I was told where to go and wait. So after all the musical fun and shenanigans, we got to meet Matt. He shook our hands, was gracious, kind, and so very polite. I'm over forty, but I think I have a crush on him now.
Joshua Radin was fabulous - I wish he played longer. I liked Matt Nathanson, but wasn't blown away by the playlist. It was tough to stand for that long - seating would have been better at this venue.
Matt's show was fantastic! I'm already a huge fan of his music and it was such a treat to see him live. He's charming, funny, quick and crazy talented. He was also a really good sport about accommodating his show to account for two young children who were in the audience. He and his band were wonderful! I'm already looking forward to him coming back to Toronto so that I can go see him again!
