  • Singing wasn't great, but good comedy and set

by Robbie on 2022-10-24National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - OttawaRating: 3 out of 5

Many of the singers were really pitchy and not pleasant to watch. Thankfully the set design, comedy writing and jokes made the experience enjoyable.

  • It was ok

by Shell on 2022-10-24National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - OttawaRating: 4 out of 5

The performance was very similar to the movie. The back screens they used for the various backgrounds were a great, new-age element. The performers who played Cady and Janice were phenomenal singers. The performer who played Karen also sang and danced very well.

  • Funny with a capital FUN

A light hearted show that uses singing, dancing and comedy to relay a life lesson for teens/pre-teens! It touches on subjects like sex, alcohol, bullying and peer pressure that is understood by audiences. I wish my kids were a bit older so they could attend; hopefully it will be around for a few year so they can see it when they are at the age to grasp it’s meaning.

  • Not super exciting

by K. W. on 2022-10-24National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - OttawaRating: 3 out of 5

We had 3 of us go who know the movie off by heart. When you go to see a broadway show you expect it to have the same elements as the movie. Same characters, iconic sayings, and same characteristics. I dont think Regina George was not a great portrayal of the actual character and was not well suited for the part. I also could not understand one word when she sang. It felt like watching a Disney play. I also felt diversity was more important than creatively and sticking to the movie.

  • Fun!

by Cal on 2022-10-24National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - OttawaRating: 4 out of 5

Love the musical! Hits all the movie beats and quotable moments. The sets were fun, bright and creative. However, the audio was too loud during the chorus numbers and made it difficult to understand the words.

  • very poor sound

Very good show but terrible sound. So much distortion and music was drowning out the vocals.

by Bina Booth on 2022-10-22National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - OttawaRating: 5 out of 5

I had such a fun night watching this adorable musical. Casting was on point, the jokes were well timed and landed well, and the screens were a really creative way to change the sets quickly.

  • So fun!

by Cheryl on 2022-10-22National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - OttawaRating: 4 out of 5

I grinned like an idiot all evening. The songs were fun, the classic movie lines you need to hear for it to really be mean girls are all in there, it exceeded my expectations.

  • Obsessed

by Caru on 2022-10-21National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - OttawaRating: 5 out of 5

I had never seen mean girls I only listened to part of the OST for the musical so I came in fairly blind and I had a BLAST. The cast was so good it made songs that I was so so about from the album my favourite songs. Tbh Karen in this cast I liked even more then th original it was such a good time, We got really good tickets for a fair price. The only thing is the NAC has a sound mixing issue and sometimes the music is louder then the singers. This seems to be a thing with all the shows I’ve seen here so I hope that’s solved soon. But the cast and crew of this show is amazing and don’t be turned off if you’ve never seen meangirls I still had a great time!

  • Decent Musical but I didn't love it.

by Em on 2022-10-21National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - OttawaRating: 3 out of 5

Campy, colourful, fun and well done but I was a bit bored. Sorry. I just wasn't that enthralled with this musical. And I'm not sure if it's just me but I have found the last 2 musicals I saw at the NAC were over the top loud. I wanted earplugs to be more comfortable.
