About

Melissa Etheridge is one of rock music’s great female icons.  Her critically-acclaimed eponymous debut album was certified double-platinum.  Etheridge’s popularity built around such memorable songs as Bring Me Some Water,No Souvenirs and Ain't It Heavy for which she won her first Grammy for Best Female Rock Vocal. Etheridge hit her commercial and artistic stride with her fourth album, Yes I Amfeaturing the massive hits I’m the Only One and Come to My Window, a searing song of longing that brought her a second Grammy.  The six times platinum album spent more than two and a half years on the album chart.  Etheridge is also an Oscar winner for Best Original Song in 2007.  In 2011 Melissa made her Broadway debut as St. Jimmy in Green Day’s rock opera, American Idiot, where she replaced Billie Joe Armstrong for one week, and received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.  Her most recent album, This Is M.E. was released on September 30, 2014.

Melissa still has it goin on. She was better than I have ever seen her last night. She put on a full-on rock show, she just gets better with age. New album dropping on April 27th and I will be in line for sure!

    She's Still Got It!

by Trulu on 2009-08-18The Tulalip Amphitheatre - Tulalip

Great concert, great venue and it was really nice to see her once again (10th time). The acoustic set all by herself was fantastic and it's great to see she is still in fine form! Any time she plays a concert in my town or vicinity, I will always try to be there.

by Keisha on 2009-07-21The Avalon Ballroom Theatre At Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort - Niagara Falls

I have loved Melissa's music & vocals for years. This was my first opportunity to see her perform live and I certainly was not disappointed. I kept my binoculars focused on her the whole performance!

    she was phenominal!!

by fallsgirl on 2009-07-19The Avalon Ballroom Theatre At Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort - Niagara Falls

Our tickets were for a Friday night performance but she was stuck at the Airport. She played on the Sunday to make up for the Friday night. I thought that was awesome!! Most acts would not have done this. And to make things worse the airlines had lost her luggage. But the show must go on and she did an incredible job. We were totally impressed with her.

    Melissa was amazing

by mamajanet on 2009-07-17The Avalon Ballroom Theatre At Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort - Niagara Falls

The intimate setting of the Fallsview casino was a Melissa moment that will not be forgotten in years to come. It was a one woman show that far surpassed any full bands shows that I have seen recently. She played the familiar hits as well as new songs (unforgetable version of the Bette Midler's - Stay with me and Joan Armatradings - Weakness in me).

    Melissa was terrific, as usual!

by wansy on 2009-07-17MotorCity Casino Hotel - Detroit

New venue for me to see Melissa - having seen her approximately 12 previous times in concert in Canada and Michigan. The venue was a great "club" environment - seemed like a small venue for her but was disappointed to see it was not well attended. I think the high ticket prices and problem economy in Detroit probably did not help. We travelled from London, Ontario to see the show! We had third row seats and were thrilled with the proximity to the stage. It was great for taking photos of Melissa and the staff did not stop anyone from taking photos. She sounded great as usual. It was like seeing her back in the early days 1989-1990 when the first album was out. The difficulty now at this stage of her career is that she has a lot of material from numerous albums and you don't always get to hear your own "favorites". Leaving "Like the Way I Do" out of the show these days is not a wise decision. It is a classic Melissa song and showcases her song writing skills, emotions, and guitar playing skills. Hopefully the new album does well - coming out in 2010 and I'm sure a full band tour will follow. The crowd at the show enjoyed the set - many were inebriated though. As one of my favorite artists, I will always enjoy her performances. It was the unique, small club atmosphere show that will be right up there with other favorite shows I have seen of hers. She seems happy in her life and this shines thru.

    INTIMATE WITH MELISSA

by Sunn on 2009-07-16The Avalon Ballroom Theatre At Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort - Niagara Falls

Melissa's concert at the Avalon Ballroom was incredible. Melissa can entertain an audience with only her guitar, piano and stomping of her feet. She is always upbeat and humourous with her audience she loves to share personal experiences and then gives her fans great Rock and Roll.

Unbelievable the energy this woman brings to her performances!!!! Engaging and rockin' - I'd see her again. Great sound and not too far from the stage (we were up in the balcony) although you had to really turn your head to the right.

Live and Alone - The Best

by Golfrgrl on 2009-07-16The Avalon Ballroom Theatre At Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort - Niagara Falls

Diehard Melissa fans know that nothing beats her rockin' with her band, but you only really appreciate her outstanding vocal abilities when you get a chance to see/hear her "Live and Alone." Melissa performed many of her most well-known songs on acoustic guitar (along with harmonica), but brought out her electric axe for "Chrome Plated Heart" and really got things rolling. She performed a couple of songs on piano including a cover of "Stay" that Bette Midler sang in the "The Rose." Her vocal performance on that one was beyond words. Having had to cancel the previous night's show due to the fact that she was stranded by bad weather and couldn't get out of Chicago where she'd performed Thursday night, Melissa arrived in newly purchased clothes and was "blingless" as she said. Her luggage hadn't made it to NF with her. She made up for the missed performance by re-scheduling that show for the Sunday night and by singing her heart out for those who packed in on Saturday night. Melissa is an artist who loves to interact with her fans, who always manage to get up to the stage to soak up her music and her energy. Despite some very tight security, fans managed to get to the stage towards the end of the concert as she launched into "I Run for Life" - the song she wrote following her breast cancer scare that has now become an anthem for other survivors and for the families and friends of those who didn't win their battle with the disease. Melissa is taking July away from the stage to record her next CD, but returns with a number of shows in August and throughout the fall. If you have a chance to catch her "Live and Alone" you shouldn't miss it - I promise you won't be disappointed.

Hands down best concert I have ever seen!! She has an unbelievable amount of talent!! Was a little suprized at first that she was completely by herself. After the first couple of songs I realized I would not have had it any other way. Liked it so much I tried to get tickets for the next night. If you get the chance to go, it's a must!! Her rendition of Stay with me baby brought tears to my eyes. IT WAS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!

by Hiney on 2009-07-16The Avalon Ballroom Theatre At Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort - Niagara Falls

I have seen Melissa at least 8 times over the years. The Avalon was a great venue, kind of reminded me of Massey. She was awesome. especially when she sang Stay with me from the Rose.
