The Bay-Area native resides in Bali when he is not on tour and owns Soulshine Bali, a 32-room top-rated boutique hotel located in Ubud, Bali that focuses on joy through wellness and music, offering unique retreat opportunities and accommodations, along with special events and celebrations. Franti continues to foster community both on and off stage with a wish granting non-profit, Do It For The Love, which brings those with life threatening illnesses, veterans, and children with severe challenges to concerts worldwide, fulfilling over 3,500 wishes and touching the lives of over 15,000 people to date.
I have seen him 3 times and the energy and engagement of Michael is amazing, he must have spent have the time in the audience, all over the hall. Music isn't just a job for him, it is how he engages with life and shares his huge vision

I've been to way too many concerts and shows lately where I've walked away feeling like I just wasted my time, energy and money. So not the case with Franti & Family. They worked it and they worked hard. The connection with the audience was tangible. I appreciated that Michael and his band didn't try too hard or had to use antics or elaborate displays to impress. It came easily and genuinely. From the time they hit the stage to the last song they played, the show was a beautiful example of how music connects us. Well played!
Michael Franti is one of the coolest cats on the planet. Spearhead falls right in line with this as they all have their own stage presence that is fun to watch. This was a fun loving show with some amazing stories to listen to. I was smiling from ear to ear and dancing from the first note to the last. This will go down as my favourite concert of 2013! (and beyond).
Michael and his band put on a fantastic show - his song writing and musical talents are incredible, such a positive message! We danced and sang all night with him.
The concert was amazing as usual!! I loved seeing Michael at the Jubilee instead of the Saddledome!!!
First time seeing Franti and co. Hopefully, not the last! Fantastic show. Very personable with lots of crowd involvement. Great personal stories about his background and reason for writing the songs he writes. Super energy in small venue made the show seem like a big time production. Highly recommended!

Every time I see Micheal franti he seems to get better. The first time I got to experience spearhead and Franti I was blown away So for it to get better takes some real hard work good on them. Keep it up guys.

Music is something that reaches to a different, individual place in every different, individual person. Michael Franti has found that place in everyone who is lucky enough to see him live. Fun, honest, sincere and egoless. In a world where people would do anything for just a little more love and energy in their lives, this man provides, in a way that would stupify and petrify other performers. This show is incredible, out of your seat entertainment!
This concert was amazing! He kept everyone on their feet- dancing, jumping, singing clapping- the entire time! His music is so full of love and happiness. You can't help but walk away feeling a little bit lighter and happier. A great night out!

The Michael Franti concert at the Jubilee Auditorium was one of my favorite concerts ever! Invited by a friend, I expected to have a pleasant night sitting in my comfy seat at "the Jube" listening to upbeat music. WRONG. You cannot "sit" when Michael Franti and his incredible band, Spearhead play. You can't even just stand. You bounce, sway, dance and groove. AND HUG. There is a lot of hugging. He spends probably half the concert in the audience. He hit every corner of the auditorium (in his bare feet), hugging people, engaging kids, connecting with everyone - all while never missing a beat to his brilliant songs with their unfailingly positive, poetic messages.
Michael Franti & Spearhead put on an absolutely amazing show! What made it so amazing? Great music, great dancing, and Michael Franti knows how to work the venue (i.e., he visited all levels and engaged people along the way). There was no time to sit down, as we were all on our feet dancing away. Most of all, he and his music makes a person feel good about themselves, about other people, about life, and about the world we live in. He's a wonderful human being: an outstanding musician, spiritual person, and he genuinely cares about people. You leave his concerts inspired.
Franti is not only hot, but full of energy and loves the world
I had never heard Michael Franti before but I am a real fan now. This guy, and his amazing band, was truly fantastic. I'm 59 years old and I loved his style and his music. He's also a great performer and he makes you feel great just being there. What a performance.
Michael Franti is great! His music is so uplifting and meaningful. Fun too! His musicians were terrific as well. Great show so go see it!
Michael Franti & his wonderful band Spearhead as always wonderful. They fill the venue with love and music and good vibes and energy which helps to heal all. Thank you for the magic. So much respect for an artist who is not above his fans and wants to interact with them on stage as well as in their midst in the crowd. Bravo!
