Enjoyed every minute of listening to his singing. Loved that he sang a lot of his older songs as well!
Smitty, ever the consummate professional, offers music that respects musical innovations of the times while maintaining a significant ministry of hope, encouragement and worship. The country music band that opened for him has it all: freshness, sincerity, likability, talent, stage presence, and originality. Any record distribution company smart enough to sign these musicians will reap a rich reward if it provides them with the promotional opportunities they deserve. These guys are the real deal. Nashville had better either hitch itself to their wagon or get out of their way!
Smitty was in good form, playing a nice variety of his worship songs from over the years. But I found myself a little disappointed with the show, maybe just the anticipation of a show similar to the one a few years ago with Mercy Me & the David Crowder Band, which blew me away! I think his full worship band would have added alot to the show, somewhat similar to the DVD he put out recorded from Edmonton,Ab. Overall a very nice worship night.I look forward to his next visit!
Michael W. Smith's concert in Hamilton was incredible!!!! The venue was filled with the Holy Spirit as Michael sang his heart out on stage. It was incredibly moving and an experience I will never forget!!!!! I wasn't as impressed with the opening acts, but Smitty brought the house down. I'll never forget his performance of "Friends". Everyone stood up and sang along. People waved their cell phone screens like lighters. It was incredible. Michael said "E.T. phone home" and referred to AT&T. Amazing moment. My heart and soul were singing along with him during every song and for days after the event. I hope he comes back very very soon!!!!!
