Organization was good Staff helps you to find what you look for And the best part is a conversation with a wonderful woman Michelle Obama
I was excited to see Michelle Obama in person. I have read her book and followed her many speeches and promotions of girl's issues, etc. I expected it to be inspiring but never imagined how deeply touched I would be. Michelle Obama is, in my view, one of the most inspirational modern-day leaders who exhudes deep humanity and understanding. She raises us all UP and gives hope that we COULD do better for our children, our communities and our world. I felt as though I was experiencing a part of history in the making.....Ms. Obama, you are such a beautiful woman inside and out.
I was so excited to know that Michelle Obama was speaking in Ottawa. It was an inspiring conversation with a remarkable woman who shared her experiences and advice on a range of issues. She spoke about her upbringing in Chicago, her time at the White House, work/life balance in the earlier years, her marriage and raising her girls, embracing a mindset of physical and emotional well-being, and her hopes for the future. I was particularly touched by her reflections on coping with the death of her father and her best friend, as I recently lost my mother. She is wonderful storyteller and comes across as someone that you can easily relate to.
This was a once-in-a lifetime opportunity, and loved seeing Michelle Obama, and listening to her message. However, Even though we were seated very close to the stage, on the side (section 107, row C) we were unfortunately unable to see her face for the entire interview as she was seated sideways, and facing the opposite side of the arena. We were essntially looking at Michelle Obama’s side the entire show. Perhaps if the chairs were set back on the stage more, then our side could also have avoided watching the screens as opposed to the actual stage.
The interviewer should have been a person of colour with, at least, a journalism background. Overall, very happy with seeing Michelle Obama, but wow...so many others could have been asked or dug deeper.
Not sure what to expect but when I saw her in Montreal, there were life size posters where we could take pictures. Although it was nice to see her again I guess I got more out of the first event. There was no significant different between the two events and they were titled differently. I love the woman, her experience and her practical approach to life. I brought my daughter and niece with me this time in hopes of inspiring them. I feel it was a little flat and not as captivating.
Although it was a delight to see Mrs. Obama in person, it was disappointing that the presentation was a book review. Those of us who had read the book had heard the stories before and seen the photos. The cost of the event was disproportionately high given the amount of sponsorship provided by local businesses and the brevityof the presentation. I admire Mr. and Mrs. Obama and their worldwide efforts to effect social change. I wish I had heard more about those efforts....especially on the International Day of the Girl!
Absolutely amazing night. Michelle is such an incredible woman! I could have listened to her for another hour or two. Very special evening.
While she was engaging tge length of the event was shockingly short (just over an hour) despite advertising it was 7pm to 10pm. For $170 she/the event was disappointing.
I did not enjoy the scripted interview. The moderator, though likely a great fellow, was lacklustre. If you had to do the interview (thoughtful and inspirational speech would have been preferred), theN a professional celebrity interviewer would have been a better choice. Where’s Ben Mulroney when you need him? still a huge fan of Michelle Obama of course, just disappointed by the event.
Great experience with the incredible Michelle. She is well spoken but left me wanting more. Many of the discussions revolved around what i already read. The complete session was less than 70 minutes. I felt disappointed that it wasnt longer.
The most recent A Conversation with Michele Obama was an excellent evening. The gentleman leading the interview did a great job. Michele spoke about many candid experiences. There were great personal stories shared. Laughter and reactions from the crowd. My only suggestion to improve the event was to add more screens so that the guest could be viewed more clearly. I would recommend friends to enjoy this event if it occurs again. Thank you.
The venue was laid out great. Wish there was larger screens to clearly see the interview.
I loved listening to Michelle experiences, however for the price of my ticket I would have liked more than 1-1/2 hour conversation. Do not regret going, just wanted more than I got!
Michelle Obama was amazing. The VIP event not so much: potato chips really!! and not even 2 seconds with Michelle Obama. Just the time to take a picture. This is not not what was promised. The reception with Michelle Obama was nowhere to be found.
What a wonderful lady. Classy, eloquent, funny and respectful. Great stories. At the end of the evening, the host summed it well..."the world needs more Michelle Obama's".
Entertaining, informative . A very natural speaker , eloquent, funny, we thoroughly enjoyed..
I thought the venue was too big for this kind of event. The stage set up was not good, the chairs were too close to the front of the stage, as a result I could only see the back of her head, even the monitors were not effective to where I was sitting as they were directly overhead and could not see them properly. So for $300.00 a ticket I was disappointed.
Really enjoyed her, but thought her time was too short and it ended very abruptly
Michelle was as amazing in person as you would expect. She's so graceful in how she conducts herself and speaks with such eloquence.
