Minnesota Vikings History

Founded in 1961, the Minnesota Vikings have won 21 division championships, made 31 playoff appearances and played in four Super Bowl games (1970, 1974, 1975, and 1977). Minnesota Vikings at U.S. Bank Stadium

U.S. Bank Stadium features a 60 percent transparent ETFE roof — the first of its kind on a sports facility in the United States — along with the world's largest glass doors, ranging from 75 to 95 feet high and nearly 200,000 square feet throughout the building.

Recognized as one of the top sporting and entertainment venues in the world, the 66,650-capacity U.S. Bank Stadium boasts the closest seats and suites in the NFL. Additionally, to announce the start of each home game, the Vikings sound a Gjallarhorn — a mythical Norse horn. All together, U.S. Bank Stadium has earned a reputation as one of the noisiest stadiums in the NFL.

    What a joy to watch

by Playtowin on 2012-09-12Mall of America Field at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome - Minneapolis

What can one say of such a beautiful game to start the season. Two second year quarterbacks did their very best to keep the fans excited. What can one say when 20 seconds left on the clock the Vikings are down by 3 points. A rookie kicker comes up to the plate and it is a tie game. My 60 minute ticket now is a 75 minute ticket and who can win the overtime. Minnesota is first to try and end the drive with a field goal. But wait! The game is not over. The Jaquars also get a chance. Can the Viking defence hold. Yes!!! We win our first game. Go Vikings!!!

Vikings Games are always a good time

by TacoLover on 2011-12-20Mall of America Field at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome - Minneapolis

Great game, except for the fact the Vikings are horrible. We got to see Drew Brees put up huuuge numbers. Fun time. Men's washrooms at the Metrodome are brutal. Beer is very expensive.

    Brees surgically disects the Vikings.

by Superstew on 2011-12-20Mall of America Field at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome - Minneapolis

The game was excellent if you were there to watch Brees and his dynamic crew. If you are a Vikings fan like myself the first half held my interest, by the second half it was like a morgue in there. I am not from Minnesota but cheer for the Vikings when I am there. What I hope for most is a close game which adds to the excitement. Unfortunately that didn't happen in this game.

    Vikings miss by that much

by Mik69ey on 2011-11-22Mall of America Field at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome - Minneapolis

What an exiting game. One minute The Vikings looked like Monday night revisited but then bounced back to within six points to make the fourth quarter a wonderful experience. The enjoyment was shared by two very young Vikings girls all dressed up in the row behind me cheering their hearts out trying to get that extra touchdown to win the game. Maybe the coach should show the players some Rugby rules and perhaps the players on the last play would have made their way down the field by throwing the ball back to each other. Anyway no matter what a good time was had by all.

by parker280 on 2011-10-11Mall of America Field at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome - Minneapolis

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to witness your first win of the season at our first ever NFL game! As well as the game, we thoroughly enjoyed the before game ambience, the crowds, all the different t-shirts and jerseys, the noise and even the song...Skol Vikings!

Great spectacle, crowds loud, space in hallway a bit too crowded, but overall this is an experience, not an event!

    Comeback from destruction

by Playtowin on 2010-11-09Mall of America Field at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome - Minneapolis

Oh what a game. Three quarters of watching a team disintegrate only to come alive in the last four minutes of the fourth quarter. I will never forget looking at the score board and seeing the score 24 - 10 and saying to myself and nephew that two touchdowns and we will tie the game and go to overtime. What happened? The Vikings tied the game and we went to win in overtime. The crowd noise was fantastic as everyone jumped back on the bandwagon. Go Vikings!!

    Awesome game!

by dannia on 2010-11-09Mall of America Field at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome - Minneapolis

Amazing game, wonderful fans...the only annoyance was the no lid on your drinks rule makes it a little difficult to carry multiple things to your seat, so back some extra bottle lids with you!

by FirstGameCDA on 2010-11-09Mall of America Field at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome - Minneapolis

This was my first NFL game experience, and I had a great time. I also learned a very valuable lesson....don't wear the visiting team's jersey to a Vikings game!

    Vikings are awesome

by VikingsFan28 on 2010-10-03Mall of America Field at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome - Minneapolis

It's so much more then just a football game. 3 hours before the game it all begins with the tailgating, live music and surrounding games and activities. The game was awesome and the energy amazing. I'm hooked for life.

    Phenomenal!

by freezey on 2010-09-21Mall of America Field at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome - Minneapolis

As Dolphins fans headed to the Season Opener at the Vikings home field we were thoroughly impressed by their welcomeness and comadarie. There was the usual kids back and forth but ultimatrely the signs are true...They are Vikings not Barbarians! The game itself was absolutely amazing to watch Our SEATS were excellent...we were in Section 208 and could see everything with roomy seat! We took our son as a grad present and it is one he will never forget. The experience of an NFL game is great but a Vikings Dolphins game is Unbelievable. Our hotel was within walking distance which made the experience all the more enjoyable as you watched it go from Downtown Minneapolis to Vikings Zone from Sunday at 8 AM to well after game was complete. The stadium staff were friendly and helpful. This is definitely an event I would do again.
