About

World-renowned DJ and super-producer Moby dropped his 11th studio album Innocents in October 2013, impressing fans yet again with the announcement that it was entirely recorded in his Los Angeles apartment. Moby is best known for the 1999 musical milestone, “Play,” which not only sold 10 million copies and produced eight singles, but also turned EDM into a household name. In 2013, Moby entertained ticket holders with both old and new songs, covering popular and lesser-known material from all 11 of his studio albums. Between a small tour in support of “Innocents,” as well as a handful of west coast DJ sets and festivals, Moby keeps concertgoers in both theaters and rave tents happy with his massive energy and stage presence. His newest album "Innocents" is an ambient and introspective LP. It features a broad range of guest collaborators, including Skylar Grey, Cold Specks, Mark Lanegan, Damien Jurado and Wayne Coyne of the Flaming Lips.

Cycling through several pseudonyms, Moby had his breakthrough as Moby with his single "Go." In 1993, Moby signed with Mute Records and in 1999, his fifth studio album "Play" sold millions, sky-rocketing him into super stardom. “Innocents” is the first album Moby has made that is self-produced, and this new creative approach has helped generate some of the artist's most mesmerizing and ambient electro-pop in years. Considered by AllMusic as "one of the most important dance music figures of the early 90s," Moby will not disappoint in the days to come. From early 1990s rave anthems and forays into break-beat hardcore to the gorgeous melodies and string arrangements on classic albums, like “Play,” “18” and “Wait for Me,” a Moby concert runs the stylistic gamut when it comes to music. It's like watching a master DJ make a great mix tape right before your eyes.

    Moby was Amazing

by BECCAISMET on 2009-10-24Edmonton Event Centre - Edmonton

MOBY & FRIENDS Impressive, i didn't expect to be that great. I saw him 7 years ago in UK and still on the top! Live Moby is better than listening his cd's. Only him give a good mixture of electronic, rock, soul music. I LOVE IT and Enjoy last night!!!

by mikipoosgirl on 2009-10-24Edmonton Event Centre - Edmonton

I've been waiting to see Moby live for almost 15 years and this show did not disappoint. 2 hours of amazing music. I could have listened to him play for another hour and still not heard everything I had wanted to, but still an amazing show.

    A letdown

by jack2255 on 2009-10-24Edmonton Event Centre - Edmonton

He did too many disappointing remixes of otherwise great songs, and didn't play enough from Play and 18. I also wasn't fond of the singers he had with him.

    MOBY IN EDMONTON

by tatylast on 2009-10-24Edmonton Event Centre - Edmonton

the concert was just amazing, the quality of Moby and his band is like always the best, his two singers and two angels in the stage, even with some little technical problems, the concert flew sweet ,i'm not from here and i had to say that i was impressed of the tranquility of the people in edmonton because in southamerica MOBY is a mega start and would be ridiculous crowd . The venue was perfect for this concert, small,no so much people, good acustic, everybody can see him ,even short people like me,haha...anyway PURE QUALITY !!

Moby ends his NA tour in Edmonton

by pilfermusic on 2009-10-24Edmonton Event Centre - Edmonton

I grabbed 2 tickets for Moby the very first day they went on sale... My wife and I attended and she was a bit apprehensive about going to see him... thinking it was going to be like watching a DJ (not that I would have minded). She loved the show I have to admit I was impressed with Moby's guitar playing... I never even knew he played. Fantastic show, lots of personality in this man - lots of audience contact/interaction, fantastic mix of old and new stuff, some great vocalists... some WAH WAH pedal lead solos, bit of Zeppelin bit of Black Sabbath... LOL GREAT Job!

    Moby rocked the house!

    by ssf11 on 2009-10-23MacEwan Hall - Calgary

Moby feat. Kelli Scarr was an amazing show! The talent on stage was mind blowing. Moby and his band were able to achieve a very organic & energetic feel playing songs that are normally quiet, electronic / ambient. These songs were re-created using physical instruments and infused with eclectic new harmonies, riffs, solos and digressions. It was really cool to watch.

    breath taking!

by elaj on 2009-10-23MacEwan Hall - Calgary

I just loved the show. I was not happy at first as the band made the audience wait for almost 2 hrs before they started, but once it began..... what a show they put on! Moby is funny and extremely talented and there is no doubdt about it. His assisting vocals were unbelieveble! The entire band was just great. There is nothing else to add to it. I just simply loved it and just took it in... Actually I loved live performance better that studio produced versions as they added so much of personal touch.

    Moby in Calgary

by DrEvil on 2009-10-23MacEwan Hall - Calgary

Moby was surprisingly versatile--much more than an electronica show. His band was excellent. A great show all around.

Terrible show!! Kept all 700 of us waiting for over 2 HOURS before he finally came out on stage. His band played most of the show and he hardly did anything but play guitar. What a huge waste of money! I could have stayed home for free. I will never go see him again.

    Loved it!!!!!

    by mdgray26 on 2009-10-23MacEwan Hall - Calgary

Moby and his band were truly amazing. The songs were a great mix of slow heartful lyrics and up beat fun dance tracks. Moby provided enjoybable commentary and private tidbits of what the songs mean to him and his band. I danced until my feet hurt and laughed many, many times!

    Great show

by kmojo on 2009-10-23MacEwan Hall - Calgary

Moby puts on a great show, alternating between chill out songs and sonic walls of rave and dance. Unfortunately, this is also the only downside as he's unable to maintain any energy in the crowd as he switches between the two types of music. That and Calgary crowds do not want to dance. I was disappointed with the performance of jltf, it's such a beautiful song but the vocalist totally changed how she sings it. It needs to be subdued but she put some strange hooks into it.
