About

Citing unfinished business, bassist Jeff Pearce, keyboardist Kevin Young, guitarist Mark Makoway and singer David Usher have reunited as MOIST. From 1993 to 2001, over the course of three multiplatinum albums, MOIST led the vanguard of the Canadian alt-rock scene, sold over a million records and toured relentlessly from sea to sea to sea, literally. After an exhausting decade, the band went on hiatus in 2001 to take a breath, pursue divergent personal and professional trajectories, build families and find their lives outside of MOIST. Now, twenty years after the start of it all and with renewed vigour and an irrepressible urge to rock, MOIST is back and “The Resurrection” is upon us.

Amazing - Moist is better Live

by challe on 2013-12-04Sound Academy - Toronto

Best concert I've ever been to in my entire life, the band is so nice and they are incredible live. Waited over 10 years for this day (I wasn't old enough to go when they were last together). They still look and sound amazing and Mark was too good, they're all awesome. XO Come back again!! We've missed you for far too long. They are better live than on CD. And David sounded perfect, I really couldn't ask for a better show. Setlist was almost 20 songs long, just amazing. Two encores. I just can't get over how good this show was, everyone seemed to love it.

    Moist was incredible!! Five stars!

This was an incredible comeback concert. The entire show was musically on point, and the performance was incredible. The band had incredible chemistry, the songs sounded amazing, and David Usher worked the crowd like nobody's business. The band seemed genuinely thrilled to be on stage and interacting with us. David's interlude where he jumped down into the pit was a great way to connect with the crowd. Although I prefer venues with seating (we're all getting older!!) I had a lot of fun feeding off the energy of the crowd. It was obvious that the whole crowd was having the time of their lives.

Moist was awesome! Great to see them back together again. I hope they come back soon. Was a little disappointed in the crowd that there was no mosh pit.

They were awesome. They performed as if they never stopped. David's voice is as strong as ever.

    Moist have improved, if anything.

by CasualBeliever on 2013-12-03Sound Academy - Toronto

I loved Moist in the 90's, and saw them live in '97. They put on a great show. I was a little hesitant, I didn't know how much the band had changed, & David Usher's independent efforts were not really my style. Fortunately, the band put on a great show. Still gritty, not as raw, a little more refined & groovy. The technical side has grown (or I appreciate it more), songs were longer, with more of a jamming spontaneity than I noticed before. Still think Jeff Pearce's backing vocals are a definitive element, work really well with David's.

    Like going back in time!

by LinaNicole on 2013-12-03Sound Academy - Toronto

I had long given up hope that the "hiatus" would end and that I would get to see Moist again. Needless to say, I was beyond thrilled when this concert was announced. I went in with fairly high expectations. I was a huge fan in the 90's and saw them live several times. They did not disappoint!! David's voice hasn't changed at all! It was so great hearing all of my favourite songs played live by (almost) the entire original line up! Mark rocked out on guitar like only he can. And Jeff jammed on the bass like it was 1999! I would absolutely go see them again!

    Resurrection Complete!

Moist was fantastic, played 19 songs, a great mix from their 3 albums. Awesome to see them again for the first time in 13 years.

Moist, a hell of a return!

by sixsigma on 2013-12-03Sound Academy - Toronto

What a great show! I actually ran into David Usher getting lunch near where they were rehearsing in Toronto. What a genuinely nice and cool guy. He actually told me about the show and I bought ticket that night. Great band, great show and I would definitely see them live again.

Amazing show...back up vocals were great...Usher can still belt out the lyrics...intruments were bang-on...note for note...guitar solos were solid too!!! It was great watching them after all this time! Worth every penny!!!

    Moist is BACK!

by LilyKelly on 2013-12-03Sound Academy - Toronto

Great sound, great energy, great people, great band! Last time I saw them was almost 16 years ago & they sounded just like I remembered. Hard to believe that it's been a13 year hiatus for them.

    Sound and setlist was exceptional.

    by JayBird33 on 2013-12-03Sound Academy - Toronto

Moist played great in a concert that moved along at perfect speed. Even the songs I didn't know sounded great. This band is professional and so is their sound crew. You could picture them playing at a venue 10times the size. This is the best value for a show I've had in years. I would definitely see them again......welcome back to the stage Moist!

Moist is so much better live.

by kKatgal on 2013-12-01London Music Hall - LONDON

Other than a crappy opening act and the venue's rude hosts, this concert was fantastic! Even over a decade of silence, Moist has bounced back in top form -sounding even better than their albums. Their chemistry as a band is solid and it is a joy to watch them interact inside and outside of their music. This is easily the best $90 (for two tickets) I have ever spent and I would love to see these guys play again. I still can't believe how great they sound, especially David, who can still belt just as well as he could over ten years ago. As much as I liked the intimacy and esthetics of the venue, the security and bartenders left something to be desired. The bartenders took an extra dollar from a drink we purchased as a forced tip and refused to give it back after we confronted her about it. After the show, we wanted to stay inside for a few minutes and wait for our ride home because it was snowing, but the security treated us like garbage and forced us to leave. So yeah, in summation, Moist is amazing, but I'd rather see them at a different venue with more respectful staff.
