it was great from start to finish. the audience reaction to what was happening on stage added to the fun of the evening. I did not stop laughing until the intermission.

    Not as good as London!

by Windypeg on 2010-11-29Centennial Concert Hall - Winnipeg

Saw Spamalot about 3.5 years ago in London and loved it. This presentation was good, but not great........felt the acting was below the performances I had seen.......and also felt the audience was very different. The crowd in London were definitely Python fans and started laughing even before the punch lines.....that didnt occur with a crowd that wasn't as knowledgable.

Spamalot had me laughing almost non-stop. I liked the inclusion of the main parts of the movie, as well as the additions to the live performance such as the diva. Great show!

Refreshingly low brow AND high brow

by dadamadoo on 2010-11-29Centennial Concert Hall - Winnipeg

This is definitely worth going to see. We laughed constantly and the quality of the touring production (set, cast, live orchestra) is very high. Jokes within jokes within jokes. Very high brow humour combined with low brow! It is so refreshing to see this type of humour and satire. Nothing is sacred!

    Great show for Python fans!

by JustMeinthePeg on 2010-11-29Centennial Concert Hall - Winnipeg

Really good show -- an added bonus was Eric Idle playing God, although I was surprised he wasn't acknowledge on stage at the curtain call. It would have been a thrill to have an original cast member to applaud. Really nice touches with melding more contemporary music (YMCA-ish, Whitney Houston-ish stylings) in with the program. All the high points were included: the repressed peasant, English pig dog, Knights who say Ni, Black Knight, killer rabbit, monks, "I'm not dead yet", the holy hand grenade, etc. One drawback: if you aren't a well versed Python fan and haven't seen Holy Grail, you won't get the full experience.

    Spamalot; and there was!

by PythonFan on 2010-11-29Centennial Concert Hall - Winnipeg

Delightfully and appropriately silly. Very fast paced, you had to listen carefully . Great singing, costumes etc.

    Nothing special

by pjw1234 on 2010-11-29Centennial Concert Hall - Winnipeg

Walked out fairly unimpressed. Some scenes were verbatim copies from The Holy Grail. There was some entertaining added content, but not much. A lot of the songs dragged on a few minutes too long. Save some money and rent the movie - it's far more enjoyable.

    Spamalot was hilarious

by 100000002543 on 2010-11-29Centennial Concert Hall - Winnipeg

This is the best musical comedy I have seen a in a long time. We thoroughly enjoyed it and I would definitely go to see it again if it comes back. It was Monty Python at its best.
