MOTLEY CRUE IN CONCERT:

After more than three decades of headbanging, heavy metal bad boys Motley Crue announced that 2015’s The Final Tour would be their last ever, giving fans one final opportunity to see Tommy Lee and company in the flesh before the curtain falls for good. The band has always been a revered live act for their showmanship and over-the-top performances, but their 2013 shows were their biggest and fieriest yet, featuring pyrotechnics beyond fans’ wildest dreams – including the late Nikki Sixx’s legendary flamethrower bass. With 72 North American dates in 2014 and international dates to follow, the Crue are doing it big in true form, burning bright to the very last guitar solo.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Formed in LA in 1981 by guitarist Nikki Six and drummer Tommy Lee, Motley Crue was quickly rounded out with the addition of lead guitarist Mick Mars and singer Vince Neil. The band became notorious in the early ‘80s for their glam image and hard partying lifestyle, but it was 1983 sophomore album Shout at the Devil that made them international superstars. 1985’s Theatre of Pain and 1987’s Girls, Girls, Girls would prove even more successful, spawning ‘80s hard rock staples like “Smokin’ in the Boys Room” and “Home Sweet Home.” With 100 million albums sold worldwide, Motley Crue endures as one of the greatest heavy metal bands of all time, making their 2014 farewell tour a bittersweet last hurrah for their legions of fans.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

“Motley Crue still rules the rock scene after 30+ years of recording and performing. They played songs from virtually all albums and song selection was sure to please any Motley fan.”

“Motley ALWAYS delivers an amazing show. Seeing the Crue doing what they do best in Sin City couldn't have been any better. The pyro was over-the-top amazing.”

“This Motley Crue concert was the best Crue concert ever. The fire and pyros were awesome. They really outdid themselves. They sounded great too.”

    Crue Crue Crue!

by tamaris on 2010-01-26General Motors Place - Vancouver

I thought Joe Perry sucked big time... so boring. As for Crue, this was my sixth time seeing them, and all I can say it sure was no Carnival of Sins! There was no Tommy drum solo, no hawgs, and something was wrong with the sound. Vince sounded so muffled. But the show was okay, after all it was the Crue! Mick kicked ass with his solo!

    Motley Crue was Fantastic

by Pammae on 2010-01-26General Motors Place - Vancouver

Motley Crue was every bit as good as they were 29 years ago. I was very impressed with the whole concert except that there were no big screens at all. So for those of us who were on the opposite side of the stage, we could only really enjoy the music. Thank you Motley Crue for entertaining us.

    The Crue mailed it in

by Bigguy1234567 on 2010-01-26General Motors Place - Vancouver

Love the Crue but very disapointed in this show. No Tommy Lee Cam, the sound was terrible, Vince sounded like crap and jsut felt they completely mailed thi9s one in, should have been called the Cashing in Tour. I have been to 5 Crue concerts and this by far was the worst. I have travelled pretty far to see them in the past but do not think I would pony up the cash again to see these guys, a sad, sad day.

    Trip back to the 80's

by JB1912 on 2010-01-26General Motors Place - Vancouver

Show was an all expense trip back to the 80's. Motley played all the songs you wanted to hear, and the crowd did the rest!

Felt the opening bands were rushed and the Crue didn't stay on for that long either. But all in all it was an amazing show and the Crue really knows how to entertain.

    Motley Crue was just ok.

by Verilla on 2010-01-25General Motors Place - Vancouver

With the upper seats empty and my upgraded ticket, I knew that this show sold more poorly than expected. Airbourne was great, but about less than 1/3 of the ticket holders weren't there to see them. JPP, not so well received. Perhaps not the best choice to open for the Crue, since the crowd was not pumped or energetic. Then the Crue comes on, woo hoo. Could they not have had a screen for those at the back of the venue? A bit of a bummer on effects. Vince has great pipes and there was good energy on the stage. Tommy was a hoot, chatting up the crowd, but something strange occured during the final piano notes of Home Sweet Home. Vince stopped singing, Tommy questioned why. Thankfully I had seats near a group of rowdy young guys, who were having the best time, and in being near them, we, at least, had some pumped up concert crowd action. I think that is what was lacking at this concert.

    Motley and Airbourne = Wicked

by Anonymous on 2010-01-25General Motors Place - Vancouver

Motley Crue can still rock it! Airbourne (who I hadn't heard before) was fantastic as well! The Crue sounded, moved, and played better than ever! Highly recommend this concert! The only negative was the Joe Perry Project. Very boring! The songs sucked and and Joe Perry would do a 5 minute solo in the middle of each one. The only time the crowd got into it was when they performed Walk This Way. Maybe they should just cover only Aerosmith songs and then it would be worth watching. But Joe Perry is an amazing guitarist!

    Disappointment at GM Place

by Jason1 on 2010-01-25General Motors Place - Vancouver

Airbourne was a great intro. Strong metal sound! Much too long a wait to a retro technically poor Rock and Roll of the Eighties. This part didn't fit well with Heavy Metal Night. Again huge wait to Motley Crue. Good, strong sound with old classics but with a horrendously slow, screwed up 1st encore. Thank God for Dr Feelgood for closing this uninspired main act by a now 2nd tier Heavy Metal Group. Makes you long for the best Heavy Metal Group in the world, AC/DC!

    Crue was forgetable

by dispointed on 2010-01-25General Motors Place - Vancouver

very disappointed. Took the kids to show them waht a great concert they put on but it was no where as good as previous shows Carnival of Sins tour was amazing. There were no big screens no real stage show and the sound really was not that great. The kids were not impressed and Crue disapoointed the parents,

Motley Crue KICKED, Joe & Airbourne ROCKED!

by frunkle on 2010-01-25General Motors Place - Vancouver

The show was amazing, I unfortunately missed a few of the first song played by airbourne, I just had to get a couple t-shirts, My other two friends said I missed some good songs, The rest of their set that I caught was really high amped. They loved playing, and I love seeing that. Then Joe came out, and I was impressed, I love the way he handles that guitar, He is a musical genius. I wish I could move my hands like that guy does. Right before Crue came out, lots of women were flashing their boobs, with other people being hauled out. The band had a cheering crowd before they even came out, they must have been pretty excited about that. I have seen some bands come out to get everyoine pumped, or like Kiss have a video of them walking up to the stage on their screens. All the extra hype was totally unnecessary for the Crue, and they came out playing. I love it when they just get right down to the music, They got to personal and crowd roaring after. The show was really good overall, I brought out my girlfriend and another couple, we all give them five stars. It was my girlfriends first concert and I am so happy that I brought her to Motley Crue, There were great, Thanks for the Excellent show I hope they come back soon.

show was average, technical difficulties created confusion but Motley Crue adjusted nicely. The Joe Perry Project was less than average however Airbourne seemed to be a tight group. Motley Crue needed to play more songs but on the whole it was worth a night out.

Not the best show. . .

by Nomes on 2010-01-25General Motors Place - Vancouver

Initially excited to see my 3rd Crue show but that didn't last long. Very mediocre show compared to what I've seen before. Neil voice not as strong as usual, overall energy was shaky. Pyrotechnics were OK but never really necessary if the band's on fire! Which they weren't. . . Don't know if I'd see them next year for their 30th Anniversary if this is as good as it gets. . .
