About

My Chemical Romance are a rock band composed of lead vocalist Gerard Way, bassist Mikey Way and guitarists Ray Toro and Frank Iero. Formed in 2001 in New Jersey, MCR have become highly influential for their blend of rock, pop-punk and emo music along with unflinchingly open lyrics and theatrical live performances. Beginning with 2002’s I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love, MCR have released four studio albums, two live recordings and three compilations. The band unveiled their major label debut, Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge, in 2004 behind their first charting singles, “I'm Not Okay (I Promise),” “Helena” and “The Ghost of You.” In 2006, MCR’s third album The Black Parade reached a career-high No. 2 on the Billboard 200, while lead single “Welcome to the Black Parade” peaked at No. 9 on the Hot 100. After touring 2010’s Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys, MCR did not perform together again until 2019, followed by a reunion world tour between 2022 and 2023. The band headlined Las Vegas’ When We Were Young Festival in 2024. In 2025, My Chemical Romance embarked on a tour in celebration of the 20th anniversary of their landmark third studio album, The Black Parade.

It was a great show, lots of energy and crowd involvement through out the whole show. MCR is a great live band to see!!!

  • Best MCR Concert Yet!

by Anonymous on 2011-04-09Edmonton Event Centre - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

I thought it was the best concert yet! The venue was nice and small and you could actually hear the lead singer sing! (Last time I saw them at another venue you couldn't really hear him). They played a lot sonsg off their first album - which was awesome. Some good extra interludes inbetween songs too! Great on-stage engery!

  • MCR is still way too hot!!

by LorTorBor on 2011-04-08Edmonton Event Centre - EdmontonRating: 4 out of 5

I loved this performance and in this venue. It seemed up close and personal almost like a private performance. Very special and very enjoyable.

  • Most Amazing

Best day of my life ever. No other show I have been to has ever been like this show, and I honestly don't think any other show I will see in the future will compare, unless I see My Chemical Romance again. Not enough words in the dictionary to explain how amazing this show was.

  • MCR was awesome!

by Stacey1983 on 2011-04-05The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

I was impressed with both opening bands (The Architects and the Neon Trees). Both had a lot of energy and a different sound, so it kept things interesting. I heard My chemical romance play a few years ago and, don't get me wrong. I love this band but they were alright last time but a bit pitchy, a bit off. This time, they were fantastic! There were entertaining and picked an awesome set to play! The whole crowd got into it right away. I was stoked to be there and they blew me away with how much better they sounded! Now they sound like their albums in real life. In short, they are an awesome band. My favourite band, actually! :) Hopefully next time they will be at a venue where we don't have seat though... that is my one and only complaint.

  • My Chemical Romance covered their bases...

Opening acts put on a good show and gave it their all, warmed up the stage nicely for MCR. Their new album doesn't pack as much of a punch as their first two, but seeing them perform those songs live made me appreciate them more. Lead singer brought emotion to the stage, and pulled out a few classic tunes from their first two albums to rock the crowd which got everyone moving. Enjoyed the show and got my monies worth.

The sound system for this show was stellar. MCR is NOT a studio band. Energy and vibe of show had me on my feet all night.

  • Good Concert & Horrible Venue

by Shadowboxer on 2011-04-04The Centre - VancouverRating: 1 out of 5

I will never ever attend a rock concert at this venue again. For three hours we had to stand up along with everyone else. I didn't pay fifty bucks for that and to be behind people waving their arms. All three bands were great but my experience wasn't good and a waste of money. Only one stand that sold shirts and the line up was over a half hour. I love MCR but overall being stuck in a crappy place just ruined it for me!

  • Effing amazing. :D

I went to the concert, and I have to say that it was just awesome. I actually just went for MCR, but Neon Trees and the Architects blew me away too. :)

Awesome show. I didn't know My chemical romance very well but my girlfriend loves them and now I do too.

The best concert I have been to yet! The smaller venue size allowed for a good close up view of the bands. The seats where nice when it came to intermissions.

  • It was Epic

My Chemical Romance was GREAT!!!!!! Gerard BROUGHT it!!!!!! They got everyone pumped!!! And the setlist was awesome. Pretty good balance between their newer stuff and older stuff, and the older fans definitely went crazy over the older stuff. THey never disappoint.

  • MCR

The setlist was fabulous but how do you leave out your 2nd biggest hit?" I Don't Love You". The Neon Trees were fabulous, great energy.

  • My Chemical Romance/Neon Trees/ The Architects

by Anonymous on 2011-04-04The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts - VancouverRating: 2 out of 5

The show opened with "The Architects" and while their performance was ok they just could not get the audience in the moment. I was very disappointed in "My Chemical Romance" . The sound was loud and muddy - so you could not make out the lyrics or the vocals. The front man did not exude energy and at times seemed bored. A better sound person would have solved some of the problem. The "Neon Trees" saved the concert from being a dud. The sound was clear with the lyrics understandable and the vocals of the front man & the drummer were outstanding. The front man seemed to be really enjoying himself; seemed to care about the audience's experience and he really connected with the crowd. I would definitely go see this group again.
