by Maggiees on 2016-02-29National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - OttawaI'm not a big orchestra fan but I really enjoyed this event. The orchestra performed beautiful music and the Finnish Capella group did lovely renditions of the Queen songs. Highly recommend it.

Rating: 4 out of 5 Supergood!
by Yayi on 2016-01-25National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - OttawaThe very high quality of all 4 divas presented was amaizing! I enjoyed most of the numbers included, although I think that I preferred them when singing alone, since some of the numbers together were a bit 'shaky' for me. It was obvious to me though that they all have a great talent indeed. The Orchestra and its conductor were definitely highlights for me!! Amazing musicians and direction! Not to mention the mastership of the conductor's presentation. I am definitely glad to have been at this event!
Rating: 5 out of 5 Broadways Divas were showstoppers!
by KandGfans on 2016-01-25National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - OttawaThe soloists, maestro and NACO were entertaining from start to finish. The show was a wonderful mix of varied music selections and quality performances. If anything, the show was too short. Could have listened to them all night. A great concept and excellent execution by all.
Rating: 5 out of 5 Natalie McMaster best concert ever
by Canuckphotog on 2015-12-13National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - OttawaFull of energy and joy, she was mesmerizing to watch. Had me clapping in time to her music, stomping my feet , grinning from ear to ear. Magical. And her little daughters age 6 and 9 were adorable (and talented). First time I ve seen her perform, and definitely not the last. Will watch for her shows from now on.
Rating: 3 out of 5 Good but not great
by Penelope29987 on 2015-11-17National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - OttawaI was entertained but not blown away. Everything sounded fine and pleasant but it wasn't very interesting. I really enjoyed hearing some of my favourite soundtrack songs but there were a lot that I had never heard before. Maybe it was more suited to an older demographic.
Rating: 5 out of 5 Hollywood Epics - a night to remember
by NostalgicM on 2015-11-16National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - OttawaFrom the beginning (Gone with the Wind) to the end (Star Wars), the music evoked images of decades of movie watching. It was lovely to close my eyes and to be right back in the story. The combination of the orchestra and the chorales was well done, and the commentaries by the conductor, giving some behind-the-scenes insight into the creation of the scores, were just what was needed to tie the performance together. If possible, it would be lovely to have a projection of a picture or even a clip of the movie in the background ...
Rating: 5 out of 5 Unforgettable show
by JoSz on 2015-07-16National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - OttawaBroadway Standing Ovations was an amazing performance of solos, duet/trios extravagance, Orchestra lasting classics and the Ottawa Men's Chorus masterwork; a medley of all-time favorites included West Side Story, Wicked, The Music Man, Phantom of the Opera and Les Miserables. The conductor Jack Everly had the honour of managing this magnificent concert. His wonderful sense of humors and unusual skill to relate short stories about each piece infused the atmosphere with a magic and made concert come alive. He created this musical phenomenon with the Broadway calibers as Chistina Bianco, Ben Crawford and Ted Keegan. Talented Chistina Bianco, with her unusual voice range and abilities, was more than nice to listen. She shared excerpts from Diva Moments as a solo show; her hilarious and accurate impressions of Julie Andrews, Barbra Streisand, and Judy Garland wrapped the audience in a wonderful atmosphere of a delightful music blanket as well. Ben Crawford unlashed his powerful voice in the “This is the moment” and put the audience on edge of glory and admiration for his talent. Ted Keegan, performed “Music of the night” extremely well causing a standing ovations from a few audience members. The Orchestra played Broadway’s unforgettable flawlessly, performed the concert of any kind, received earned ovations and left the audience with a desire to see them more. Unforgettable show, it was a great night

Rating: 5 out of 5 Broadway Standing Ovations was Outstanding!
by RonT on 2015-07-01National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - OttawaWe purchased our tickets hoping the music and songs would be good. The show was not good - it was outstanding in everyway! The featured singers were wonderful in that they sang some songs better than anyone else we had ever heard. In example, Ted Keegan's rendering of "Music of the Night" and Richard Todd Adams' version of "Stars" were absolutely perfect and unforgettable. In addition, the ongoing actual singing and musical artist impressions of Christina Bianco were truly superb. I cannot overlook the excellent and enjoyable conducting/introductions and MC duties that Jack Everly performed: A true professional musician! And, the NAC Orchestra? Phenomenal indeed! Bravo to all involved!

Rating: 5 out of 5 The Leahy Fiddlers was awesome!!
by Tigger64 on 2015-05-01National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - OttawaThis family is so talented its incredible. The orchestra showed their flexibility when playing with the Leahy's.
Rating: 4 out of 5 The Leahy's were fabulous!
by Anonymous on 2015-04-28National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - OttawaThe ochestra was great and it was a unique sound to have the fiddles backed by an ochestra. The only negative was I went to see the Leahy's not the orchestra. So a little more fiddle time and a little less orchestra!
Rating: 5 out of 5 Leahy-spectacular
by Karbar on 2015-04-26National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - OttawaGreat show-enjoyed every single minute!!! Sound was excellent and the symphony combined with the fiddling was quite enjoyable!!
