    Great

by Georgina on 2023-11-03Commonwealth Stadium / Stade du Commonwealth - Edmonton

Game was great , seats were great 18 rows from ice level, entertainment between periods was awesome. The only downside and it's a biggie--was the utter Kaos and mismanagement of crowds entering the stadium. Missed the introduction of players, anthem and puck drop trying to get to seats. Took 50 minutes to enter the venue (poor organization of security measures) and another 20 minutes to get through the crowd to seats. 3 entrance points all converged in one area of concourse. Also long long line up at confession stands. Missed half of one period getting food and drinks. Didn't even try for souvenirs. We had also attended the previous hertiage classic don't remember any of these issues then.

    More security at common wealth

by Didn’t get to eat or drink anything. on 2023-11-03Commonwealth Stadium / Stade du Commonwealth - Edmonton

I heard that the reason it was so packed in the concourse was because so many people snuck in through the Rec Center. I paid way too much for the very last row of commonwealth yet noisy drunks found a safe spot from security by hanging out at the very top. Pretty sure they had no seats. This made for a cold, hungry night. Couldn’t even get a warm cup of hot chocolate if we wanted to.

Awesome Experience - Winter Classic Oilers vs. Flames

by Adam on 2023-11-03Commonwealth Stadium / Stade du Commonwealth - Edmonton

The winter classic was awesome! Weather wasn’t too cold, pre-game ceremonies were great and the hockey game was terrific! Only complaint is that commonwealth is not setup to host some 60,000 people. Trying to get food was a claustrophobic nightmare.

    Commonwealth not good

by Penny123 on 2023-11-02Commonwealth Stadium / Stade du Commonwealth - Edmonton

Terrible venue. No food. No drinks. The crowds to get the drinks. An absolute standstill crowded distaste the the entire time. Not enough “big screens”. Spent all that money and couldn’t see anything. We were in section MM. awful.

    Great night, awesome game

by ArleneT on 2023-11-02Commonwealth Stadium / Stade du Commonwealth - Edmonton

Perfect weather for a great night of hockey at Commonwealth. Park and Ride was definitely the way to go, getting in the stadium was relatively easy, concession lines were brutal and there was no chance of purchasing any merchandise if you wanted to see any of the game. In Stadium hosts were embarrassing as they didn't even know the players names they were interviewing, however; Nickleback was fantastic and the game was even better. Leaving the stadium was a nightmare due to poor crowd control, but once we were out, taking park and ride home went smoothly.

    Heritage Classic

by Hareena Khangura on 2023-11-02Commonwealth Stadium / Stade du Commonwealth - Edmonton

The Heritage Classic game was an amazing experience but there is still a lot that can be improved. First of all, purse sizes. My 2 sisters brought the same purses that are passable at all other arena such as Rogers Arena and BC Place but here, they were forced to run 10 minutes back to their car because the purses weren’t small enough. Of course safety is always a priority, but when a bag is just an inch bigger than the stadium mandate, it is quite annoying. And the line up at the bag storage was so long, it was just smarter to drop them off in our car. Secondly, the congestion to get to our seats. It seems like the arena wasn’t prepared for this much traffic and it took 20 minutes just for us to reach our seats. Lastly, the stadium had definitely not stocked up on enough food and drinks. During the second intermission and after waiting in line, all of the hot chocolate had run out and we weren’t able to get anything. After being exposed to negative weather for the last couple hours, it should’ve been a priority of the stadium to have abundant stock of hot chocolate or some sort of hot drink. Besides all of this, the game was a wonderful and unregrettable experience. My family and I had travelled from Vancouver just for this game and it definitely worth it!

    The game/weather/atmosphere/stadium was great.

by Devaughn on 2023-11-02Commonwealth Stadium / Stade du Commonwealth - Edmonton

The line ups in the concourse for food and beverage and bathroom where very long causing fans to miss part of the game by the time they received food/drinks, woulda liked to see more kiosks in the middle of the concourses offering these items. maybe even some extra porta potty’s or temporary bathroom facilities.

    Awesome

by Douglas on 2023-11-02Commonwealth Stadium / Stade du Commonwealth - Edmonton

What an amazing experience. So much fun. The only down fall was I think Commonwealth Stadium was a little overwhelmed. Lines were so long I wasn't able to get any concession without risking missing an entire period.

    Loved every minute!

by Wanda on 2023-11-02Commonwealth Stadium / Stade du Commonwealth - Edmonton

We arrived early knowing the stadium would be hectic. Very little line up for our souvenir. I was fortunate enough to afford great seats. Easy access to venues and exits. I had tickets for the event 20 years ago. Definitely the weather played a great part of this event to being fabulous. I’ve been an Oilers seat holder for 42 years. This will be my last chance to see this event. I’m so glad I attended. The only issue that seemed a challenge was the liquor stands. Very overcrowded and at times if you were claustrophobic you would not of endured this. We never chose to eat but listening to fans. Food venues were as well difficult to obtain. Again, so glad I attended! Loved it!

    AMAZING!

by Brooke on 2023-11-02Commonwealth Stadium / Stade du Commonwealth - Edmonton

We had a great time. I wish there was some more police presence, as there were a lot of fights around us in the upper bowl seating. The game was great and the atmosphere was incredible!!!

Venue unprepared for size of event

by Pat on 2023-11-02Commonwealth Stadium / Stade du Commonwealth - Edmonton

The product on the field was great. However the concessions and washrooms were extremely packed and poorly managed. It was impossible to go to concession during intermission without missing a significant amount of the period. Entering the event was also a disaster, we arrived an hour before it started and just barely got in on time. Event was good, but venue was not.

    Poorly planned

by Nick on 2023-11-02Commonwealth Stadium / Stade du Commonwealth - Edmonton

It was gridlock everywhere. Thousands of fans missed the start of the game because of long lines to get in. Merchandise booths were set up right in the middle of the concourse, blocking people trying to walk to their seats. Concessions were completely overwhelmed, taking 45 minutes to get something to eat.

    An amazing fan experience.

by ES on 2023-11-02Commonwealth Stadium / Stade du Commonwealth - Edmonton

The atmosphere of a CFL game combined with the fast pace of a hockey game was amazing! Enjoyed the house band, pep band, second period performance, and of course the Oilers WIN!

    Heritage Classic

by Daniel on 2023-11-02Commonwealth Stadium / Stade du Commonwealth - Edmonton

The game rocked, great atmosphere, Nickleback rocked, the Flames sucked, what more could you want? Don't listen to the whiners, just go to these games and have some fun.

    What cattle feel like

by Harzesr on 2023-11-02Commonwealth Stadium / Stade du Commonwealth - Edmonton

Great game, worst fan experience ever. Compared to Regina this was a 1 out of 10. Having the fan experience 20 minutes away from the game site and a second concert, again away form the game site was bad news all around. Food was the worse we have ever experienced. Bathrooms took 30 to 45 minutes, so you had to miss part of the game. It took my partner 50 minutes to get a burger. Missed the entire second period. I have to ask in whose mind did this facility work? It is not designed to hand an onslaught of 55,000 drinking fans, they even ran out of hot dogs after the first period on the East side. Wow lousy facility, super over crowded. None of the extremally hyped up NHL experience available unless you went there really early to assure you did not miss the first period. When we decided to go for a bit, as we were there 2 hours early we were advised there we no in and out privileges. Really!! Is the system at the stadium so old that it can't hand that? Another massive strike as many were irritated by this as we were. Nickelback was great but only 15 minutes max. Why not have them perform before the game? They did not use or impact the ice at all. Fireworks for a Hockey game were overdone. All in all Regina put Edmonton to shame as far as an outdoor classic is concerned. They wanted to put on a show. In Edmonton it really felt like they just really wanted to make money, facilities be damned.

    Disorganized fun!

by Shanez on 2023-11-02Commonwealth Stadium / Stade du Commonwealth - Edmonton

The event itself was great however line ups were a mess. Bathrooms were a mess and had no organization to who was coming and going. The food vendors were disorganized leaving people in line for 20 mins or more.

    Heritage Classic

by Nat Card on 2023-11-01Commonwealth Stadium / Stade du Commonwealth - Edmonton

The game was great but the venue was not ideal. There was lack of signage and ushers to direct people to their seats. The venue did not accommodate people with physical disabilities. There were long line ups for food and drinks. The biggest issue that I had with the venue was when they did not allow my sister to bring in her purse and she had to take out her contents. Her purse was taken and she was forced to carry all her belongings.

Heritage Classic - Edmonton Oilers/Calgary Flames

by LM on 2023-11-01Commonwealth Stadium / Stade du Commonwealth - Edmonton

Exciting game. Happy for Oilers win. Poor processing of people into Stadium. Lots of crowds, congestion, waiting to move around the concourse, lack of ushers in stands. Ticket prices were EXCESSIVE for the venue. NHL is getting GREEDY with Ticket Prices. Depending on your seats, visibility of ice wasn't that good. Lack of "Big Screens - NHL should provide for these large events, especially with the Ticket pricing. Only one on North end and it was covered with advertising - yes we know Tim Hortons was a sponsor - was all over the field as well. Didnot show: Game Score/Time Clock/Penalties. Did show some replays. Weather was great. I would not spend the money for another one of these types of events run by the NHL.

    Chaos getting to seats

by Shella on 2023-11-01Commonwealth Stadium / Stade du Commonwealth - Edmonton

Once you got to your seats it was ok The chaos on the concourse was horrible. People packed in so tight. Pushing. Could not get to your seats Awful
