Great event, but, the NHL has priced it out of reach for most people. Too expensive for a hockey game.
It was a fun night. However sight lines from many of the seats were very poor. The ice pad was far too away from many of the seats. The entry points could not handle the volume of fans. The atmosphere however was a lot of fun. Good entertainment although the game itself was not a nail biter.
We didnt end up sitting in our seats because we would not have been able to see the ice - at all! There was a lack of staff at the venue that was frustrating, but as a result, we were able to move around freely to watch the game. Overall though, the winter Classic is a great game and I would recommend to any hockey fan willing to brave the cold for a few hours!
It was a great time, great game. Never thought too bring padding, my butt was cold! Fun crowd. Disappointed was not allowed back into TD Place too purchase tshirts, nothing outside, only hats scarves.
Well thought out and fun event. Only issue was when entering - lines were very long due to metal detectors causing a bottleneck. Unfortunately missed the opening although we were there 20 minutes before event time. In an effort to get folks inside, security then stopped checking anyone unless you had a bag...so either they should have been using the metal detectors and decided not to for convenience, or they didn't really need them.
The shuttle busses were ridiculous, the traffic was brutal, they should have had a way just for the busses and no other traffic, the line ups to get in were outrageous people missed half the game because of the line ups. Once you got in and got to your seats it was amazing there just could have been systems overall
Great event, well organized. A great surprise to have Tim Hicks and Bryan Adams.
Despite the cold weather, the entire game experience was amazing. The sightlines from our seats couldn't have been any better. Washroom lineups were long, but not outrageous or unexpected. Although low scoring, the game itself was well played and entertaining, and of course the right team won! Game staff were friendly and helpful as they always are at Lansdowne. Bryan Adams was a very pleasant and enjoyable surprise. The racing Prime Ministers were hilarious. However... From the time we got onto the accessible bus at the Canada Post lot it took 1:30 to get into our seats! And we were even that early only because I got a little forceful and demanding with the innocent staff. Not closing traffic on Queen Elizabeth was a huge mistake. And the same golf cart that was broken 3 weeks earlier at Grey Cup was still broken, so there were only 2 small carts to do all of the shuttling. It's obvious nobody thought ahead about this, because they're rentable from every local golf course at this time of year. Very poor planning in these areas caused us to arrive in our seats just in the nick of time for the puck drop, so despite the fact that we allowed plenty of time to arrive early to experience the whole event, we missed the entire pre-game festivities, the national anthem, the fly-over. For tickets I paid $700 for I expected better service.
This was great from the pre-show to end. I was very pleased with the parking/shuttle set up as well. No head aches, no stess!! The only critique I have is there were no hot beverages available except for coffee. It would have been great to be able to buy a hot chocolate or tea, it was very cold and a warm beverage would have helped!!
