About

NOEL GALLAGHER'S HIGH FLYING BIRDS IN CONCERT:

Following the 2009 dissolution of pioneering Britpop band Oasis, primary songwriter and lead guitarist Noel Gallagher didn't give fans any time to lament his split from brother and longtime collaborator Liam. Instead he hit the ground running with his solo project Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, a harder-edged continuation of his work with the late great band. Since then Noel has proven himself quite the frontman, impressing audiences around the globe with rollicking performances of tunes like "Dream On" and "Do the Damage". He throws in a few classic Oasis numbers like "Don't Look Back in Anger" and "Supersonic" for good measure, ensuring fans both old and new get to rock out to their favorite jams.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Noel Gallagher was born and raised in Manchester, England, where he had a fairly turbulent childhood. He picked up the guitar in his teens as a way to pass time while on probation for robbing a corner shop, imitating the songs he heard on the radio before moving on to songs of his own. He was expelled from high school at 15 and worked various construction jobs before striking up a friendship with Manchester band Inspiral Carpets and joining them as a roadie. Upon returning from the group's US tour he joined his brother Liam's band The Rain, a psych-tinged rock outfit that would eventually become Oasis. Noel and Liam made their debut as Oasis in 1994 with the album Definitely Maybe, a critical and commercial success that topped the UK Albums charts and spawned four popular singles. Their sophomore album (What's the Story) Morning Glory? was an even bigger smash, topping charts around the world thanks to instant classics like "Wonderwall" and "Champagne Supernova". All told, the band reached No. 1 in the UK with all seven of their albums before long-simmering fraternal tensions drove the brothers apart in 2009. Noel lost little time continuing his rock reign -- in 2010 he formed Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, releasing a self-titled debut album to the top of the British charts the following year. With their sophomore album Chasing Yesterday generating buzz in 2015, the band has fans eagerly awaiting their next round on the road.

Soundcheck must have been done perfectly because it sounded so great. The band was really tight.

    Noel's Back

Noel Gallagher was on his game! The performance was filled with power and finesse. His dialogue with the audience was even more appreciated in such a small, intimate venue.

    Oasis who??????

Sonically awesome! What a rock show SHOULD be. Noel is a performer...as an Oasis fan I thought I would love for them to get back together; at this point I don't care, especially if Noel keeps doing his thing. I won't miss him next time.

    Mind blowing

I went to both Sunday and Monday show and the only reason I am picking Monday as fav is because I had better seats (7th row) with a bit of wiggle room to dance aka spread my arms in the air. After 20 years of being a hard core Oasis fan and seeing them live numerous times (as well as just Noel), I though that I was too old for getting giddy but man...just hearing the opening chords to any of the songs transforms me into a screaming 12 year old seeing Justin Bieber in person.

Best show of the year so far!

Noel Gallagher is one of the most underrated performers of our time. His show was spectacular! Nothing fancy. Just amazing rock and roll! I have seen Oasis on many occasions and known he was an amazing songwriter but this performance was incredible! First time seeing him on his own and it definitely will not be the last. Highly recommended.

    Amazing live performance!

The live versions of his songs are better than the studio ones. Been a huge fans of his for a long time and he made me appreciate his songs so much more. The new stuff was just as strong as the oasis stuff. Good on ya mate!
