Unexpectedly, there is such a high-level symphony performance at home in our community. Beethoven's ninth is thousands of generations of eternal symphony, the chorus is more first-class, shocking and resonating, a diverse North York, I love you, looking forward to more classical music performances.
Pax Christi did an admirable job in their performance on Sunday. Also enjoyed the opening orchestral number which was very well played. Although I know well the opening and closing movements of Carmina Burana, I didn't recognize the other movements, and didn't find them as interesting. (Not the choir's fault!) One suggestion: when two people came out to make announcements, they could not be heard. People near me were yelling out, 'Can't hear you!' but nothing changed. There was a microphone near them which they didn't use, but it may have been for other purposes. I don't know. Don't have people speak unless the audience can hear them. A sound check beforehand would have avoided this problem.
The best local orchestra that we have experienced in the GTA. Definite fans and look forward to new opportunities!
What a wonderful concert! The orchestra was great, and the Bach Children's Choir performed beautifully, as always. The PAX Christi choir was fabulous. I know Carmina Burana well, and was thrilled with Pax' performance. They nailed it, as did the soloists - especially the baritone. Just wonderful!!
From the baritone, tenor and soprano to the outstanding choirs and orchestra - what a great experience!! I will look for their next performance!
The Pax Christi choir was excellent in their performance and professional conduct from the first person walking out on stage to the final note sung. Beautiful dynamic control. The NYCO was also very good in their performance of this piece but was not has tight as the choir and would liked to have heard more dynamic contrast to balance the choir. However the 2 selections Scherezade was excellent and showy as it should be. The 2nd selection was not a well balanced and tight as it could have been. Over all a great performance and both ensembles should be proud. Balcony seating is great. Great sight lines and for music sound rises and you get the best musical acoustics of the hall.
The event was highly enjoyable, the orchestra and coral performed amazing. I would attend again for sure.
