  • Amazing!

Orville and his band were amazing! They put on a great live show, always in tune with one another and sound awesome! Orville has a voice that just sounds the best live! A little touch or Johnny Cash, Roy Orberson and Elvis Presley. He’s in a class of his own! Can’t wait to see him perform again!

  • Could have been so much better

by Seer See-er on 2024-07-12UBC - Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Centre - VancouverRating: 3 out of 5

The show was professional and the performers outstanding. Orville Peck has an astounding voice and has written beautiful and moving songs. This particular show was ruined by being far too loud and by the generally bad acoustics of the venue. During both the pre-Orville show and with Orville, the amplification was so loud that the music simply felt like noise, unbearable noise. The singing was also so over amplified so that it conveyed no subtleties, was just part of the noise. The band was so loud that the lyrics were hard to hear. From our seats, Section 103, row 10, there was also a very irritating echo of all sound, especially noticeable when the performer spoke and tried to engage the audience. In short, the show presented first class, vibrant performers, but washed them out in a wall of sound that was not really very good music at all. Or at least that's how it sounded to us.

  • Awesome

by Jay on 2024-07-11UBC - Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Centre - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

Orville Peck is so talented, love his voice. Just as good in person, and a great stage presence. Band was great as well and Emily Rose killed it on supporting vocals, beautiful voice. Also enjoyed the opening act. Goldie is very talented. Only complaint had nothing do with the artists. The price for two bottles of water was over ten dollars, and they kept the lids. This is especially frustrating considering they didn't allow water bottles into the venue despite the ample presence of fountains to fill them. I expected to pay inflated prices for everything (though the merch ended up being fairly reasonably priced) but even then the venue's price for water was absurd.

  • Love love the whole concert.

Orville really brings people together. Perfect mix of old and new, thoughtful and rockin songs. Keep it up.

Absolutely loved the show. The vip experience was amazing and the show was incredible

  • Fantastic performance. Volume too loud and distorted

by Lee on 2024-07-11UBC - Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Centre - VancouverRating: 4 out of 5

What a musician. Unfortunately the volume was so loud that the music was distorted, and you could not appreciate his beautiful voice Not sure if this is the venue, UBC hockey stadium or that's Orvilles concert style.

Orville is an incredible live performer. Great voice and stage presence, the band sounds great, and he has so many great songs. One of the best concerts I have seen in years. A must see.

Charismatic performer. Great band. Unfortunately, sound was too loud. Unable to make out lyrics. Why 2? opening acts?

  • Great show, the rest not so much,

by cj on 2024-07-07Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

Great show, the rest not so much, The openers The War and Treaty absolutely superb, Orville Peck as always put on a fun, entertaining night. Now the traffic due to Gardiner Construction, combed with a TFC game, Jays game, a last minute cancelled Scotiabank show, not he venues fault but you asked. The parking , at least it was a nice night for a 30 minute walk. The venue itself seems to be a bit tired, (the almost zero lighting at the exit was interesting at best.) Once inside you are hostage to the hyper inflated food and drink options courtesy of Live Nation and MLSE, aka the usual. With no options close by, it makes you think tailgating is the viable option to over $20 beers. We already have tickets to more shows this summer as its really the only outdoor venue in town. So are we predrinking or not drinking ?
