Got the 3-day pass for myself and my partner. Overall, the Montreal and Osheaga experience was great, but I say that with the caveat of having the opportunity to see friends that live in the city, go to restaurants, and eventually be at Osheaga with a few of them which made it an awesome experience. The people at Osheaga are also incredibly chill and fun to be around, and both of us didn't run into any issues. However, if I think about the organization of the festival itself and from what we've heard, I feel like they can do better. My partner has gone in previous years before the pandemic and she said the way the grounds were laid out was much better and even the number of people was reasonable. We had gone just for a day last year 2022 on a Sunday and had hoped this year was different and would be improved. The Friday and Saturday weren't too bad but the Sunday of both this year and last year was an absolute zoo. The layout was also quite odd for the stages on the outskirts, causing a lot of bottlenecks and no staff to manage the crowds, which put us off from wanting to even go to the other two stages after experiencing it the Friday. This definitely sucked as smaller artists and bands are usually there and the grounds the Friday was completely muddy - it had rained the day before but I'd expect the organizers to at least have some preventative measures to maybe put removable floors to place as a small workaround. On top of that, we heard on Sunday that people may have gotten into the festival somehow for free after videos surfacing people getting in without paying, which may make sense on why it was so crowded. I get that on Sundays it is usually the most popular lineup, and I'm not saying people need to have an arm's length of space around them, but from what I've heard across the board from other friends that have gone in previous years before the pandemic, it was much much better. We sort of gave Osheaga the benefit of the doubt with the pandemic, maybe 2022 was just a one-time thing where they wanted to let as many people go, but if this keeps on continuing, I'd have reservations to go.
