We had great seats in the south stand of BMO field. I do not understand why there was not assigned seating? For all intents & purposes it totally appeared that our tickets were assigned.Why were they not? This was a great competition with some memorable matches & plays. Capped off with gold medals for Canadian women & men.
Men's final was heart stopping , raucous. Talk about horseshoes, Maybe it was sheer determination , who knows for sure,all I know it was worth the price of admission.But beer at $10.25 plus tip is. daylight robbery and food also is twice the cost it should be. Women were awesome . Tackles in both sexes games were rib shaking ,ball handling truly remarkable and the running speeds incredible. Ice hockey does not hold a candle to 7-a-side rugby.
Such a fun day watching the Women's and Men's Rugby 7's. It was worth the price .
Excellent venue and great value for money. Very entertaining format for the games. Friendly and respectful athletes.
What a day, a sunny day, free parking in Aldershot, relaxed free transportation by train right to the stadium. Quick entrance to stadium and seats behind the end zone. Then an amazing display of non-stop action in front of a passionate crowd. The Canadian women continued their dominance and despite USA scoring firts in the Gold medal match, Canada came back to win 55-7 playing some beautiful rugby. Then it was the men's turn, Canada only squeaked through the 1/4 final winning in overtime against Chile. In the semi, they met arch rivals USA and once again it was a thriller with the score tied at 19-19 and only seconds left on the clock before Canada scored. You could hear a huge "Whew ! " from the 20,000 fans. Then the Gold medal match vs Argentina who had beaten Canada in pool play. Once again it went to the wire as Argentina led 19-17 with less than a minute left. Suddenly Canada got possession and with 20,000 fans on their feet, Harry Jones, powered his way over with two defenders on his back to score the winning try as time ran out.
Canada performed an outstanding play on their semifinals and finals match. The whole stadium is packed with red and white. The Canadian Flag is all over the place. The crowds cheered as Canada scores. I was up on my feet the whole time cheering and stomping my feet as the Canadian players dodge opponents as they make their way to the goal line. Unforgettable and I am glad I witnessed it! #GOCANADAGO
I've never been to a rugby game before, so this was a great introduction. Had fun and met some nice people. Really enjoyed the game, especially when we won gold.
My first time seeing a rugby game. It was great. Enjoyed the game especially when the Canadian Women & Men won the gold medal.
It was my first time watching a rugby game and I became a new follower as did my husband and son. It was very entertaining and other fans were great at explaining the game to us.
Go Canada Go! Amazing time had at the Pan Am Rugby 7's. Great venue and a lot of games to watch for one ticket. Unfortunately the beer (wicked high price) and food ran low...other than that a great time had by myself and my two daughters. Great crowd, should have been on TV instead of the Calgary Stampede.
Simply the best! Gold sweep with nail-biter men's finish. Couldn't ask for anything more... except more beer and food options.
What a fantastic day. The event itself was enjoyable and we're very glad we went. If I had one complaint, it would be the venue itself. I've always thought BMO Field was great, until that day. One bank machine. Ran out of hotdogs.Limited free water. Massive lineups for everything.
Loved the games. Loved the atmosphere. It was so moving seeing and hearing everyone singing Oh Canada in our own country for our athletes. So proud to be a Torontonian/Canadian
Great experience, don't think there was a bad seat in the house. BMO Stadium is a great venue. The only things that could have made it better were more water bottle filling stations (even portable ones would have been fantastic) and some more food options for those with dietary restrictions (i.e. vegetarian, gluten free)
First of all, the 5 hours of rugby was AWESOME! Great value for the price of the tickets. The organization of the day however was not very good. To start off before entering the stadium, nobody was allowed to bring food or drinks into the games pavillion. Then they only had 4 food trucks for the 20 000 people they were expecting, which made lines take forever. Next, it was not assigned seating, just assigned sections. This meant that people that showed up early were saving sections of seats for people that weren't showing up for a couple hours so other people had to search for seats and end up being split up. We arrived early enough to get good seats, but i witnessed a few almost fist fights. Next, they ran out of BEER! Other than Molson 67 which is crap. They were even selling Budweiser that they weren't supposed to being sponsored by Molson. Around dinner time, they started running out of food to sell, so those in line were waiting forever and they would have one pizza at a time to sell pieces of. And for those that weren't drinking, they kept running out of water to sell having to restock from the other venues' storage.
Great venue for this event.... good sightlines from all over. Great atmosphere and fan participation.
Good seats and great atmosphere. Shame that the stadium wasn't full and that the bar ran out of beer. Who knew Rugby fans drank beer. DIH!!!
This was a really satisfying 2 days of the greatest sport in the world.
I would have to say that the Rugby 7's finals was one of the best sporting events I have every attended. Quick games, lots of open field running, great athletes, sportsmanship, and an rowdy crowd.
Get venue! To be part of an International Sport event was a dream of mine, that Canada won both the Men and Women's Rugby 7's was a bonus. Go Canada!
