About

PATTI LABELLE IN CONCERT:

Legendary R&B belter Patti LaBelle came of age at a time when the term "diva" wasn't used loosely — as a tireless performer and industry veteran, Ms. LaBelle earned her diva designation with hard work and pure, raw talent. Beloved by fans for her fiery live performances and sassy wit, Patti proved she was still in top form on her 2012/13 50th Anniversary Tour, consistently bringing down the house with electrifying renditions of classics like "Lady Marmalade" and "New Attitude." An indefatigable touring presence, Patti serves up more diva realness in 2014 with several highly anticipated appearances.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Born and raised in Philadelphia, Patti Labelle cut her teeth singing in church choir and several girl groups before settling into her role as frontwoman of namesake group LaBelle in 1970. Following minor success in the early part of the decade, LaBelle hit the big time in 1974 with "Lady Marmalade," which became their first No. 1 and remains one of the most popular songs of the disco era. In 1977, Patti released her self-titled solo debut album to positive reviews, wowing critics with her songwriting and prowess as a vocalist. A series of successful albums followed including 1986's Winner in You, which landed at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and received several Grammy nominations.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"The show was the absolute best! I've never been so happy in all of my life to see Patti LaBelle live....she was great, her music was on point, the background singers were out of this world."

"Patti was great! The voice was superb and she hasn't lost a step. At 70 years young she is AMAZING!"

"It is wonderful to see a performer who truly enjoys entertaining the audience. I have been following Patti for 40 years and I have never been disappointed. She gives her all."

  • Loved it!

My farther in law had a stroke two years ago, so we are now more than ever intentional about making every minute count. We surprised him with tickets to Patti Labelle’s concert and we all truly enjoyed it!!! Great music, funny, entertaining and engaging with the audience. Patti’s still got it!

  • Patti LaBelle

by Tonya Downey on 2023-08-30Rating: 3 out of 5

The OLG Stage is great, very comfortable. Patti was amazing to see and of course her voice is incredible. However I wish she would have sang more songs and I wish the show would have been longer than an hour. It felt more like an evening getting to know Patti rather than a concert. She was very interactive with the people in the audience. I did care for the back up singers taking over a part of the show to showcase their voices. I wanted to hear more of Patti herself singing her classic songs.

  • Wonderful experience!

I treated myself to great seating and was sooooo glad I did! As Patti Labelle entered to walk towards the stage she walked down my aisle and was able to see so close, beautiful woman inside and out! She knows how to shine and put on an awesome show. Her back up was first rate as well. If she graces the stage in Canada again I would go again!

  • Beautiful lady-beautiful voice!

Patti was just amazing! 1st time to see her and she did not disappoint. From her shoe changes to her outfits...great concert for sure!

  • Disappointing!

by Paul on 2023-08-30Rating: 2 out of 5

How to explain? Gracious performer but unable to sing a complete song anymore.

  • Another amazing show!

Ms. Labelle is still rocking at 71 years of age, her voice was magnificent and powerful. She looked amazing entering the stage in a fur coat belting out Need Alittle Faith and performed with no intermission for about 90 minutes. We were graced with an encore at the end of the show with You Are My Friend.

  • Amazing, as expected

by THETOTALGUY on 2015-10-12Hard Rock Casino Vancouver - CoquitlamRating: 5 out of 5

Patti did her thing as I expected. Voice was impeccable, audience interaction was great and montage at the end was fantastic but sad as it was a tribute to singers we lost over the years. Patti doesn't play around. She invited a few people up to the stage and one of them was a complete loser who decided that his 30 seconds of fame was gonna be to strip. When Patti practically body checked his behind off the stage and threw him outta the building, she apologized for that hot mess we all had to see; but she didn't skip a beat and the show continued flawlessly. Hope to see her again :)

  • She still has it!

Rich powerful voice. Great sound! Her smile, her stage presence was top notch! Man she works the crowd too! Her band was very very good. With the recent death in her family. Some of the songs took on deep meaning for her! A very emotional evening for Miss Patti It was a very special evening!

  • Amazing Grace!

by Sunnishine on 2015-09-21Hard Rock Casino Vancouver - CoquitlamRating: 5 out of 5

Mrs. Patti La Belle is in her words "71 Years young" and in my words - "She's amazing! From the beginning to the end the show was fantastic! (There was a minor hiccup provided by a moron who got up on the stage and took his pants down - real idiot - so disrespectful). I would she her again and again and again....... We should all aspire to be so fantastic at 71 (or at any age for that matter)

  • Going Strong at 71!

by NorthVanGuy on 2015-09-21Hard Rock Casino Vancouver - CoquitlamRating: 4 out of 5

This was the first time I've seen Patti live, other than on her Live DVD and I was't disappointed. She did most of her hits and her band was tight and sounded amazing in the smaller venue. The many wardrobe changes you see in the past were gone and there was no flashy stage or lighting effects, it was all about Patti and her amazing voice. She told the audience that her last remaining sister had passed away a few days earlier and considering her personal distraction I'm very appreciative that she did not cancel her performance. Bottom line: She can still hit those famous notes and still has the energy she is so well known for. Only negative was that she seemed to forget where she was (Canada vs. US). She commented how blessed we are to live in America and said God Bless America as she left the stage. Both comments caused an amused murmur from the near sell-out crowd.

  • Patti LaBelle...magical evening

This was my initiation into the Patti LaBelle "family". Ms. La Belle's connection with the audience was almost telepathic. One felt that it was a private performance. It is of little surprise that she has written a motivational book. Very highly recommended! i will be eagerly watching for her next performance.

  • Patti was amazing!

Ms. LaBelle looked and sounded great at 69 years of age. She sang for close to two hours. The band, background singers and sound at this venue were incredible. I loved her furs and outfits.

  • Patti LaBelle is still a reigning diva!

by Carlo73 on 2011-11-01The Seneca Niagara Events Center at Seneca Niagara Casino - Niagara FallsRating: 5 out of 5

This past Saturday at the Seneca Niagara Casino Events Center, Patti LaBelle commanded the stage with an exciting electric energy. Still every inch the diva, she still radiates with beauty and sings with a tremendous amount of power and soul. This was my second time seeing her in the past couple of years. The thing I love most about her shows is they do not seem to follow a scripted or run-of-the-mill format. She interacts with the audience and tends to be spontaneous, which provides for a very entertaining show. Thank you Patti for a wonderful evening!

  • Patti was fantastic

I enjoyed every song Patti sang and would go back to see her again. The stage setting was very well done with the Bird of Paradise & Anthurium lillies adorning the stage. Her many pairs of shoes on top the piano was definitely Patti as well as her kicking off her shoes which flew right across the stage. Loved it.

  • Awesome concert!

Patti looked and sounded great. She sang for over 90 minutes and also did a tribute to Michael Jackson as an encore. What a voice!

I absolutely enjoyed the show, I so admire the gift Miss Patti is fortunate to have and able to share with the rest of the world. One thing I wish she would have sung from start to finish somewhere over the rainbow, other than that I have no complaints.

  • WHAT A DYNAMIC WOMAN

Thoroughly enjoyable. Fantastic backup singers and musicians. Was seated to the far right and was unable to watch the big screen at the back of the stage, as she had her back to us looking at all the faces... Camera person only picked it up for 30 seconds or so.

The Lady still has 'it'. Undefinable in its simplest form, understandable in its complex meaning; she relates to an audience so faithfully and they back to her with equal warmth, love, respect and charm. And then we add the 'voice'; truly a gift from above and I am so thankful that she continues to share it with us. What a moving experience. I will share her music with her forever. And just to top it off, let's add some kick-ass musicians; amazing could be an understatement whether it be base or lead guitar; keyboards, sax(mmmm), drums (delicious), conductor (on piano, no less, sings too...get outa here) and let's add 3 very talented singers to boot (who let that guy out, wow, what a set of pipes). I'd have stayed for hours if you woulda let me, lol. Loved it if you hadn't guessed by now.
