About

PATTI LABELLE IN CONCERT:

Legendary R&B belter Patti LaBelle came of age at a time when the term "diva" wasn't used loosely — as a tireless performer and industry veteran, Ms. LaBelle earned her diva designation with hard work and pure, raw talent. Beloved by fans for her fiery live performances and sassy wit, Patti proved she was still in top form on her 2012/13 50th Anniversary Tour, consistently bringing down the house with electrifying renditions of classics like "Lady Marmalade" and "New Attitude." An indefatigable touring presence, Patti serves up more diva realness in 2014 with several highly anticipated appearances.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Born and raised in Philadelphia, Patti Labelle cut her teeth singing in church choir and several girl groups before settling into her role as frontwoman of namesake group LaBelle in 1970. Following minor success in the early part of the decade, LaBelle hit the big time in 1974 with "Lady Marmalade," which became their first No. 1 and remains one of the most popular songs of the disco era. In 1977, Patti released her self-titled solo debut album to positive reviews, wowing critics with her songwriting and prowess as a vocalist. A series of successful albums followed including 1986's Winner in You, which landed at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and received several Grammy nominations.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"The show was the absolute best! I've never been so happy in all of my life to see Patti LaBelle live....she was great, her music was on point, the background singers were out of this world."

"Patti was great! The voice was superb and she hasn't lost a step. At 70 years young she is AMAZING!"

"It is wonderful to see a performer who truly enjoys entertaining the audience. I have been following Patti for 40 years and I have never been disappointed. She gives her all."

  • Patti Labelle EXQUISITE PERFORMANCE!

by Betao on 2011-03-26Casino Rama - OrilliaRating: 5 out of 5

Patti Labelle once again reinvented herself, gathered full house audience for the delightful show. Her introduction, greetings to her fans, and out of discussion the music and soul she put together. She is without doubt one of the most inspired artists of our time. I highly recommended the show for anyone who haven't experience the Patti Labelle "fever". It is contagious, last longer, and it will leave memories of it for the time you will be able to see her live.

At 66 and still going strong!! there is no one like Miss Labelle, what a voice!! The lady knows no bounds a professional in every way. Anytime anywhere there's your money....Give me my ticket!! The only thing is she should play here more often....and maybe next time she could play Massey Hall in Toronto!!

  • Patti LaBelle was fantastic

What a show!! 65 yrs old, 6 inch heels and the woman owned that stage! I was lucky enough to see her checking out of the hotel and I'm not sure what meant more to me, talking to her for those 30 seconds or seeing her at the concert. It was amazing! The way she brings her personality to the stage, it makes you feel like you've known her for years. She gets the audience involved and leaves you wanting more! ohhhhhh and that voice..................what can I say.

  • Patty Kicks off Her Heals

by JackieO on 2010-03-06The Avalon Ballroom Theatre At Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort - Niagara FallsRating: 4 out of 5

Great show. Patty can still belt out the tunes. Even at 65, she still put on a heck of a show and although her feet hurt to the point she actually kicked of her heels and sent them flying across the stage, she carried on barefoot. You could see that her health wasn't the greatest but it did not stop her from performing and at one point going out to be with her audience.

  • Unforgettable

  • Awesome Show

by BWoman1 on 2010-03-06The Avalon Ballroom Theatre At Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort - Niagara FallsRating: 5 out of 5

A great show!! At 65 Ms. Patti delivers a better show than some 1/2 her age. Though some of her comments come across as a woman a bit bitter with the disolution of her marriage and she seemed not to recognise that some women there might actually like their husbands. Her band and backup singers were excellent. The only downside was having floor seats your view can be blocked by people standing in front of you I wish we had 'downgraded' and gotten balcony seats.

  • Worrisome

If I did not know that Miss Labelle has diabetes then I would have sworn she was drunk. She was suffering from diabetic neuropathy and you could clearly notice that she was in pain, her left leg, her back and her feet . Her voice for most of the concert was incredible, hitting the high notes and sending shivers down my spine. As the concert progressed, she seemed to lose focus which caused great concern for her piano player and two back-up singers. At this point I was quite worried for her well-being. Midway through Miss Labelle left the stage and started to wander through the crowd shaking hands, singing (she forgot her mic and had to be handed one by the back-up singer) and causing the security staff to be caught off-guard and tried to usher her back onstage. When she did return, her back-up singers took over to give her a moment to compose herself then had to give her water and hold her up for a bit. Her voice was starting to fade by the end of the concert. Diabetes is a serious illness and watching Miss Labelle made me think that her sugar levels were out of control which made for me to be quite nervous. In spite of this, she will always be a diva in my estimation.

  • Patti gives 110%

by Clarke on 2010-03-06The Avalon Ballroom Theatre At Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort - Niagara FallsRating: 5 out of 5

It was an amazing show. Her voice is the same, she is funny and there are so many hits that you just don't want the show to end. Great price for 1hour and 45 minutes without an intermission. Patti goes all the way! Back up singers were amazing and so was her band. Well crafted show. Also, she is so gracious, down to earth and welcoming to her fans. I'm a fan for life.

  • Patti Labelle

by Jebebrew on 2010-02-21The Colosseum at Caesars Windsor - WindsorRating: 3 out of 5

The concert was enjoyable, i had 5 cousins fly up from Nova Scotia to see Patti, 4 of us had good sits in front of the stage to the left, the other 3 had cheaper tickets and were seated to the far right., they seemed to have the better view as patti tended to favor the right hand side of the stage! Also , when Patti came out she had advised the crowd that she was ill, her throat was not up to par!, this was a good thing to do on her part. Another concern was that i think the stage should of came out into the audience, it seemed like we were in an auditorium.....dont get me wrong Patti is an icon, i just wished that she would of sang some of her older stuff, also found that she didnt sing that many songs, But over all i did enjoy it. was my first time there , and probably would go back.

  • Patti Labelle............Class act!!!

by Squir68 on 2010-02-20The Colosseum at Caesars Windsor - WindsorRating: 5 out of 5

I have to tell ya.............she was amazing!!!..........She came out sick...........barely a voice, yet still entertained us. She had a doctors visit and even though she was feeling horrible....................she pushed herself to the limit and belted out her wonderful songs as if she was perfectly fine. Would definitely see her anytime anywhere!! What a class act!!!

  • VERY DISAPPOINTED !!!!

by barfeet on 2010-02-14The Colosseum at Caesars Windsor - WindsorRating: 1 out of 5

This concert was the worst I have ever been to. I know she was not feeling well, however the way she wasted time on stage was embarrassing . I would have rather she made her apologies and let the backups perform than put up with all the stupidity I witnessed on the stage. My wife and I were both disappointed and would never recommend anyone to see her if she came back.

  • Terrific
