    Paul Revere & The Raiders

by Rider365 on 2013-03-10Red Robinson Show Theatre - Coquitlam

Paul is a great guy, and perhaps missed a second career as a stand-up comedian.  His band is very talented and the current Baby Raider has a fantastic voice.  I didn't enjoy much of the show however, as a 90 minute show turned into about 60 minutes of joking around and 30 minutes of music. The band played a few medleys and very few whole songs.  They even used up much of their valuable 'playing' time doing covers of other 60's songs (Monkees, Buffalo Springfield, others)  They also spent time demonstrating how well the lead singer did impressions of performers like Tom Jones, Frankie Valli, Elvis Presley and others. At least they played Louie Louie, Kicks, Hungry, Indian Reservation and Just Like Me, but few others. I came to see a music show, not a comedy act. I was only mildly disappointed though as the tickets were not overly expensive.  Some humour is to be expected, but it should not dominate the show.

Paul Revere and The Raiders were fantastic!

by rocket67 on 2013-03-10Red Robinson Show Theatre - Coquitlam

The act was varied between great music and comedy. My husband said: "That's the best damn show he's seen in a long time." That about sums it up for me too. Much laughter and entertainment.

Paul Revere & the Raiders - I'm Still Smiling

by DudleyL on 2013-03-10Red Robinson Show Theatre - Coquitlam

Despite just turning 75, Paul Revere, the "Mad Man of Rock 'N' Roll" has still got it. Their non stop 90 minute act was professionally executed with a great balance of high level performing and comedy. You could tell that Paul and his group were enjoying themselves as much as the audience did. Having Red Robinson there to introduce the band was a nice touch and was a great aid in connecting with the audience. Kudos to all. If they come back again, I'll be there.

    Paul Revere and the Raiders

by Quickbeam on 2013-03-10Red Robinson Show Theatre - Coquitlam

This was a good show, but people should not be mistaken. This is not a show where the band comes out and does a solid set of music. There is a lot of comedy in the show, with Paul Revere leading the charge. In fact, all Paul really does is the comedy aspect. He did one song on keyboards, but other than that he basically does stand up comedy. It does work though and is a good show. If I had one disappointment in the show, it was that they did not play more of their hits. They did play most of them, but a lot of their great songs were not played completely through. They would do medley's of hits but you didn't get to hear the complete song. Hits like "Him or Me" and many others were only done as part of a medley. Would have really liked to hear complete songs instead of just portions of songs. All in all it was a good show but I did expect to hear more music.

    Paul Revere still kicks!

by MizzG on 2012-06-21Skagit Valley Casino Pacific Showroom - Bow

These guys still rock. Darren's voice fits the songs and his impressions of Tom Jones & Elvis are amazing. He was also able to fill in on guitar to make up for no Foos. Paul is a hoot and gets it. Then there is Tommy. All I can say is WOWWW!!!!! He's worth the price of admission all by himself. If you ever have a chance to see them, GO!

Best Paul Revere show to date!!

by abbyk on 2012-06-17Skagit Valley Casino Pacific Showroom - Bow

This was one of the best shows Paul Revere and Raiders have put on so far. Paul is better and better. The lead singer is outstanding. Perhaps one of the best. We had a great time and would go again if he comes back.

    GREAT concert!

by Angael on 2011-04-02Casino Rama - Orillia

First time seeing Paul Revere and the Raiders. They put on a very good show - Paul Revere was very funny; kept the audience in stitches. Show started right on time; played for about 1 1/4 hours. The band consists of Paul Revere, Doug Heath (lead guitarist), Ron Foos (bassist ), Danny Krause (keyboardist), Darren Dowler (lead vocalist) and Tommy Scheckel (drummer - used to be with The Buckinghams (Kind of a Drag, Don't You Care). Very enjoyable show!

    Paul Revere & the Raiders

by EddieMoneyFan on 2011-03-29Casino Rama - Orillia

Paul Revere is 73 years old and hasn't lost any of his enthusiasm. He also has a very comical act but he most likely says almost exactly the same things from venue to venue. One drawback to this is that if you see his show again some time in the future, it will likely be identical to the one you saw previously. Nevertheless, the group played all of their biggest hits and I give the concert a thumbs-up.

Paul Revere & the Raiders were Totally Amazing

    by hunterhobbes2 on 2011-03-29Casino Rama - Orillia

I took my wife to this show. She had never seen this act before. Having said that, she came out of the show totally awestruck. She loved the group, the music and especially the interaction with the audience. Definitely a show that we would both want to see again.

    The Raiders were here

by JimmyJ on 2011-03-28Casino Rama - Orillia

Last Saturday night Paul Revere & The Raiders once again brought their "A Game" to the Casino Rama Stage. I have seen the Raiders numerous times over the years and this version of the band is by far the best since the original lineup. New lead singer Darren Dowler does justice to the original vocals of Mark Lindsay and newest member, drummer Tommy Scheckel, former member of the Buckinghams really kicked it all night long. Long time Raiders, guitarist Doug Heath, Bass player Ron Foos, and keyboard player Danny Krause are three of the best in the business. The sound mix was perfect and we were treated to a kick-ass Rock & Roll Band. Seventy-three year young Paul Revere was at his wise cracking best. When you've been in the business since 1959 you know a little about entertaining a crowd. Paul Revere (yes his real name and real hair) is a Showman's Showman. Few bands can play hit tune after hit tune and even shorten some up by putting them in a medley. I really don't know why Paul Revere is not in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, but I can not think of a performer who is more deserving. Revere is billed as "The Last Madman of Rock & Roll" and I sincerely hope we get to see this act again before he finally decides to stay home and let the Rolling Stones try to catch up to his band's record fify-two years in the business. Thanks Casino Rama for another great night.

To arms to arms! Paul Revere is here!

by classicconcertgoer on 2011-03-28Casino Rama - Orillia

If you want to laugh and listen to some great oldies, go see PR and The Raiders. He has alot to say (like jokes and some stories of the 60's and 70's) in between songs and the combination makes for a great night out.

    paul revere was amazing

    by One1 on 2011-03-28Casino Rama - Orillia

I didn't know what to expect but I was amazed at their repertoire. A lot of their original hits plus a lot of oldie goldies by other people from the 60's & 70"s. It seemed like they were having a lot of fun up there and it was contagious for the fans
