PENNYWISE IN CONCERT:
Punk rock legends Pennywise have been an emblem of SoCal surf and skate culture ever since their self-titled 1991 debut. As one of the most successful independent punk outfits of all time, Pennywise elevated bros to sacred status with seminal punk anthems like "Bro Hymn" and "Living for Today," building a massive following that still turns out in full force for their moshpit-heavy live shows. With a new album due out in 2014 — their first with original lead singer Jim Lindberg since 2008's Reason to Believe — the band promises to pull out all the stops on their upcoming tour dates.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Formed in Southern California in 1988 and named after the killer clown from Stephen King's novel It, Pennywise released several EPs before their self-titled 1991 debut LP established them as a dominant force in SoCal's burgeoning punk scene. As one of seminal label Epitaph's flagship bands, Pennywise released a string of taut, anthemic albums throughout the '90s, working their way into the mainstream by the 1995 release of third album About Time. That album cracked the Billboard 200, a veritable coup for indie punk and a feat the band would repeat with each subsequent album — including 2012's All or Nothing, the band's tenth studio album.
FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:
"Pennywise always puts on a great show. They have so much energy it spills out to the crowd!"
"Pennywise is nothing without Lindberg and now that he's back they're just as amazing as before. Great show!"
"The energy during the entire show was awesome and you could feel the love and respect everyone was channeling when Pennywise took the stage. They played hit after hit..."

The line up was awsome sound amazing the energy was thrilling! Loved every moment from beginning to end !
Like usual Pennywise were something else. I see them any time they're in my neighborhood. Only thing was the sound wasn't that great. Maybe that's because I was getting pounded in the pit, I'm not sure. But it wasn't the greatest compared to other times i've seen them. They also only played one song off their great new cd, that was a bit of a bummer, but when they come back again, i'll see them.
First of all I was angered that the venue was changed to Starlite. Starlite is poor venue for the show i was expecting. The night fell short of expectations, being an avid fan of Pennywise. However if I could rate each of the bands separately, the opening band Authority ero would have got 5 stars. They blew the roof off that place and made the night worth it. I hope they come back to Edmonton because I will see them again for sure. Pennywise with new lead singer in tow was completely and ultimately upstaged by Authority Zero.
In the entirity of the show it was awesome right from the word go! I was alittle skeptical hearing that they'd lined up a new singer after Jim's departure. But I have to say I was beyond impressed. The music and the vocals were completely solid! Would love to see these guys back through town again in the very near future in another small venue because it just makes for a way more intimate and interactive experience with the crowd!
Hi, I see for the third time Peenywise in show. This one is the best I ever seen. The son was better et the selection of songs was perfect. The only thing was the Penywise play only 1 hour. Thanks for the great night.
Authority zero was unforgettable wish they could have played more songs. Other opening bands were good as well. Pennywise was unreal !
FREAKING AMAZING as always, and found a new band authority zero super amazing! highly recomend this line up to any punk fans out there!
Hermosa Beach punk rock band Pennywise rolled into town under the new lead vocalist and singer of Orange County hardcore act Ingite Zoli Teglas. Zoli took over the reigns in great form kicking the night off with Every Single Day off the album About Time. " Look at all the crowd surfing and stage diving, we thank the owers of this club for allowing a real punk show to happen" were the extent of the words of guitarist Fletcher. Pennywise ripped through an action packed show with songs such as Greed, F*ck Authority, Same Old Story, Living for Today and the encore songs of Aliens and the fan favorite Bro Hymn. Zoli and Pennywise had the crowd involved from the get go and the crowd participation was phenomenal. The only setback was the sound of the vocals were quiet and with the crowd being so active they unplugged the microphone on numerous occasions. Great band, great songs and great crowd participation. That is what it means to be at a great punk show. Off Your Rocker I&A
Amazing as always! Zoli was very good too! Definate must see!
