About

Pop-rock musician Phillip Phillips wowed “American Idol” fans and judges in season 11 with spot-on covers of iconic songs including Steve Wonder’s “Superstition”, Michael Jackson’s “Thriller”, and Otis Redding’s “Hard to Handle”. Phillips’ scratchy vocals, reminiscent of his own idol Dave Matthews, are exemplified in his chart-topping debut single “Home” as well as sweet, mellow tracks like “So Easy”. His platinum-selling first album The World from the Side of the Moon includes the upbeat love song “Gone, Gone, Gone”, which is sure to be a wedding song for Phillips fans for years to come. The Georgia-born singer/songwriter wound up taking home the title of American Idol, but only after dealing with congenital kidney issues that landed him in the hospital for eight surgeries during the “Idol” season. Phillips recovered in time for the “American Idol LIVE Tour”, performing major-market concerts alongside the season’s nine other top contestants. The 46-city trek sold more than a quarter of a million tickets overall, placing it at No. 62 in the Top 200 North American tours of 2012.

Phillip Phillips delivered and more! He was as amazing live as he sounds on the album! He was both funny and entertaining, keeping the audience on their feet the entire time! Phillip is certainly at home in the live concert world!

Such an amazing show!! Nothing like I've ever experienced before. His show is more than just going to listen to all of the songs you've already heard. He is a master at putting his own twist on even his original songs to make the show that much better. You never know what's coming. Love all of his energy and how much his band family feed off one another to just jam together and share their talent with us. Can't wait to see the next show!!

    Phillip Phillips was disappointing

by Giuseppina on 2014-03-15National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - Ottawa

I was extremely disappointed at the concert, I was sitting in the 5th row and left after the 3rd song. The music was way to loud and everyone was standing so you were not able to see anything unless you stood as well. My health does not allow me to stand for a long length of time and the base and the loudness of the music was starting to give me a headache so we left. Also there were lights behind the band and from where we were sitting the lights was shining directly in our eyes. I was looking so forward to this concert and it turned out to be such a disappointment. What a waste of money

    Philip Philips was amazing

I think Philip Philips is an amazing entertainer and musician. I love that he writes all his own songs and can't wait till his new album comes out. His concert was high energy and lots of fun. He really connects well with his audience and I think he has more fun than anyone else. The music seems to take complete control over him which creates a very exiting atmosphere. I love, love, love him!

    Philip Philips

Fabulous concert! Philip had the audience even before he entered the stage. He played a lot of music that surprised me but I loved it very reminiscent of the rock of the '80's. His signature songs were still my favourites. Guitar playing amazing.

Phillip Phillips left his soul on the stage. It was a wonderful, giving performance worthy of the risks it took to get there that snowy night.

    Awesome live performer! Very talented

by WaitingForMarch on 2014-02-10Molson Canadian - Toronto

We saw Phillip Phillips and his band in August 2013 in Toronto when he was opening for John Mayer. Incredible performer! Really good music, a blend of rock and jazz. There is something special about him that just grabs your attention -- he keeps you entertained the whole time. Very energetic, fantastic performer! I am very excited to see him again in a month when he comes here on his first Canadian tour. I recommend everyone to go see him live if you can.
