About

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

Phish are the ultimate psychedelic jam band, and they've got the diehard fanbase to prove it. Beloved for their commitment to the counterculture, killer improvisation skills, and quirky on-stage antics, the band never lets their "Phans" down in concert, and their 2013 shows celebrating their 30th anniversary were no exception. Cranking out marathon sets of three decades worth of hits, the band triggered more than a few out-of-body experiences at their recent shows, leaving fans with a hunger that can only be satiated with another helping of Phish as they hit the road for more tour dates in 2014.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Formed at the University of Vermont in 1983, Phish started out playing Grateful Dead covers and distributing numerous home-recorded tapes before getting serious with 1988 double album Junta. By the early '90s, the band had developed a unique performance style that incorporated extensive audience participation, the use of secret languages, and jumping on trampolines while playing their instruments, further fueling their ever-growing cult popularity. By 1993, they were headlining festivals and selling out Madison Square Garden, foreshadowing the continued success they would enjoy as their quasi-mythical reputation continued to grow throughout the decade. Reuniting after a brief hiatus from 2004-2008, the band continues to treat their loyal fans to their legendary live shows on tour in 2014.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"Unbelievable show! Phish came out like a juggernaut and never let up once during two powerhouse sets. Opening with a one-two punch of "Funky Bitch" and "Wolfman's Brother," the band quickly let the audience know they were bringing their A-game."

"The show was a true celebration of the band's 30 year anniversary! All the songs they played were phish originals--no covers, which is very rare for them. As always, the sound and energy were unsurpassed."

"The boys did not disappoint.....they came out with all guns blazing and fired out two blistering sets and a triple encore !"

The band played an amazing show. It’s too bad the sound is so bad in the venue and you need to pay $100 for a beer and pizza

What a return to the Big Smoke (T O)!!!

by YYZKidd on 2013-07-29Molson Canadian Amphitheatre - Toronto

Just a brilliant show with many songs from the way back machine. Highlights were the 20 minute jam in the second set, 2001 and the opener being Moma Dance. Two sets that averaged 90 minutes never left you wanting--ok, maybe a show more than every 13 years would be nice!!! See them before you die!

General admission works out better than I had expected. If you want to be on the floor near the front it is very doable.

Phish. Blossom. Spectacular. We all shine on.

by sambosambosambo on 2010-06-14Blossom Music Center - Cuyahoga Falls

Phish at Blossom Music Center was unforgettable. The lot scene was in full force, the venue was fantastic, well organized, and very flexible to the community. The parking situation ran smoothly, the lawn was in good shape and the pavilion was beautiful. I would go back at a moment's notice.

    Magical time

by PrinceMulberry on 2009-08-12Gorge Amphitheatre - George

This was one of the band's top performances in years. They took chances, listened to each other, as well as the natural acoustics of the basalt rocks, the swirling winds and felt the energy of the crowd. These efforts combined in producing two unforgettable sets of Phish's spacier side. It was cathartic to arrive at the Gorge and feel that warm wind blowing out of the massive river valley below. Many fans travelled from afar, including Canada and Japan, to experience the unique and powerful venue. The Gorge was matched with a resurgent band - having achieved their mission of a successful reunion - now taking the bar to an entirely other level musically. Playing new and old songs, Phish blew us all away as they ended the show with songs that just sound great at the Gorge: Bathtub Gin, Harry Hood and Slave to the Traffic Light. Only one cover song was played, and it produced maximum effect. The real beauty of what Phish is currently accomplishing is that any song can be the highlight of the show.
