About

Born somewhere in the Arizona desert, Puscifer is an electro-rock band, multimedia experience, traveling circus, and alien abduction survivors. The group's catalog consists of four full-length studio albums: "V" is for Vagina [2007], Conditions of My Parole [2011], Money Shot [2015], and Existential Reckoning (2020) - in addition to a series of EPs and remixes. Beyond the core trio of Maynard James Keenan [vocals], Mat Mitchell [guitar, production], and Carina Round [vocals, songwriting], the group's ever-evolving ecosystem encompasses Greg Edwards (bass, guitar, keys), Gunnar Olsen (drums), as well as a cast of characters such as Billy D and his wife Hildy Berger, Major Douche, Special Agent Dick Merkin, and many more. Meanwhile, the moniker's origins can be traced to a 1995 episode of the HBO classic Mr. Show where Keenan first used the name "Puscifer." In addition to tallying tens of millions of streams and views, they've piqued the curiosity of the press. Entertainment Weekly christened them, "Exceptionally groovy," and Revolver fittingly described them as "indescribable." Renowned for an immersive live show, the group's performances blur the lines between concert and theater, traversing the dusty American Southwest with Billy D and Hildy or the sweaty squared circle with Luchadores. They've brought their unique live experience to life  everywhere from Coachella to Bonnaroo. On their 2020 debut for Alchemy Recordings/Puscifer Entertainment/BMG entitled Existential Reckoning, Puscifer track Billy D back to the desert and, just maybe, uncover the truth about aliens once and for all.

Unlike any show I've ever been to

by Creativity1992 on 2016-09-07Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

Well, I don't want to give specifics from the show because I'd recommend seeing them if they come nearby, but they brought a lot more then just music. All of the songs were preformed beautifully! Hearing the harmonies of the multiple singers live was also great. The instrumentalists of the band are all spot on as well... Like I said, it is defiantly a show I would recommend, but keep in mind that it is not a show where they just come out, play the songs and leave, it was quite a bit more then that in fact. Well worth it, it is a show I will probably never forget!

    A unique and memorable experience!

by Amandalf on 2016-04-12Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

Well we all knew it would be a great time, but all expectations were blown out of the water! The acoustics at Sony Centre were AMAZING. Maynard and Carina didn't miss a single note and both of them sounded just as good (if not better) as the album versions. This was a unique show due to LUCHIFER - a weird but interesting display of lucha libre live on stage, before and during the show. At first I was a little confused, but this ended up delivering that weird, innovative "Maynard" style that only made things more interesting. More shows should incorporate other forms of art/entertainment like this. If you didn't see this, you missed a great time!

    MJK: Class act

by MyThirdEye on 2016-04-09Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

Puscifer put on an amazing show that gave the audience an experience closer to performance art as opposed to a typical concert. The sound was great. The luchadores were entertaining. The whole thing was... fun!

    Fantastic music, fantastic show!

by coolhandchunk on 2016-04-09Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

Puscifer did not let me down. I have been following this band for a number of years now. I saw them last time they were in Toronto and this show was different, but no less amazing. These guys and gals are great musicians in their own right and most have already proven their genius in their other collaborations (Tool, A Perfect Circle, Ministry - that's right, the almighty Ministry!!!!) and solo works. But together, their individual talents come together in pure sonic gold. Then, there is the theatre aspect, which is entertaining and original. Definitely adds to the show.

One of the most memorable concert experiences!

by Sarim on 2016-04-07Sony Centre for Performing Arts - Toronto

With Puscifer, its not just a concert. It's a whole show, and you can see how much they invest into making the audience's experience overwhelmingly brilliant. It was my second time watching Puscifer and everything was amazing. Maynard, at his age, sounds fantastic live, as does Carina and rest of the band, the whole theatrics are well played out, the set was amazing. The whole Luchafer wrestling gimmick was hilarious satire as well as mindless entertainment. Some fans could be affronted by their strict no phones policy, but in my opinion, it actually made the concert experience so much better just watching them do their thing. Toronto pulled an amazing crowd which just made everything even better.

by patchworksheep on 2015-12-03Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

i've seen them live a couple times now, and i've come out of their shows feeling simultaneously confused, aroused, excited, annoyed, and energized all wrapped into a weird little ball of emotions and ringing ears. mexican wrestling? yep. incredible singing? yep. cameos from other bands? yep. one of the weirdest stage acts you'll ever see, and i can't share any pics because i wasn't allowed to take any. just go.

    Orgasm for the ears

by HeavyDD on 2015-12-03Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

This concert was by far one of the best I've ever had the pleasure of attending. Maynard James Keenan and Corina Round's voices are unmatched. Not to mention the talent in the rest of the band. The stage show and visuals where awesome. I had the pleasure of doing the VIP package, and was grateful for the chance to be ON STAGE!! The only downside was that the wine tasting wasn't offered in Canada. That sucked. Anyway, anything MJK is involved in is wicked. Must see show.

    Simply Awesome

by DMann283 on 2015-12-01Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary, AB

So, Puscifer just played here in Calgary, AB and I must say. I was absolutely amazed. In the terms of absolute awe and enjoyment this is ONE OF THE BEST if not the best show I have been two, overall. The "entertainment" as stated during the show, was by definition perfect. This was not just some over-hyped band hopping on stage, playing a bunch of songs, doing the expected encore then going on to the next city. They REALLY took this to the next level. Yes, I know us Canadians are "annoyingly polite" I'M SORRY MAYNARD. Small venues are just that. It's the same at MacEwan hall. Nobody wants to stand up and block the person behind them so when we do it is for a much deserved standing ovation and such; we were all enjoying the hell out of the show. Don't take it as a negative. Trust me, I had to stand in the middle of the isle periodically just because my knees couldn't take being jammed into the seat in front of me (which I'm sure the people sitting in those seats also did not enjoy). I do have a few minor complaints though. I absolutely LOVE the new stuff.. It's awesome, the show was awesome and I have no regrets, BUT!! You guys were absolutely adamant of the no recording, no pictures stuff so I feel I have a bit of a right to make this complaint. You guys need to tour MORE or let people record. Of your "older" material, the biggest song played was Horizons. With the no recording stuff, I cannot go home and YouTube a live version of Conditions of My Parole, Momma Sed (though the "Alive at Club Nokia" version is perfect and I wouldn't settle for anything less), The Humbling River and most importantly Green f***ing Valley.. At this point I would fly down to Arizona just to see you guys again if I was confident you would play Green Valley. Since I've gone this far pretending that you guys will actually see this review, I'd like to add in that A Perfect Circle needs to happen again. Tonights performance and seeing you guys at Boonstock are almost par. I still got goosebumps hearing that beautiful voice of Maynards. The harmonic version of Annihilation you played at Boonstock will be with me for the rest of my life. As for Tool.. well.. I pray you still stay with the band. I will say no more. To finalize, the performance was fantastic. Even without Maynard this is a must see. The act, musical or otherwise was phenomenal and every person involved in this production deserves the utmost respect. Perfect. If you are debating getting a ticket to see this.. JUST DO IT. You will NOT regret it.

One of the best concerts I've ever been to

by fabavg on 2012-04-02Sony Centre - Toronto

I am VERY tardy with posting this review, but their concert in Toronto at the Sony Centre in Nov 2011 still ranks as one of the best concerts I've ever been to. I am a Tool fan, but my appreciation for Puscifer has grown over the years...especially after this show. Being that close and intimate with Puscifer was phenomenal. Loved "Tiny Monsters", "Green Valley", "Polar Bear", "Monsoons". Maynard's vocals were unbelievable, and loved the monologues, background visuals, and videos throughout. Carina Round opened the show and was absolutely fabulous. All around, just amazing.

    Puscifer at the Centre

by Binkstress on 2012-03-26The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts - Vancouver

I love Puscifer, but the venue doesn't do them justice. Would have been better at the Commodore. More intimate. But they sounded great. Kept the same camping theme as the first time they came through...maybe they could change it up next time?

    Best concert in a while!

by ILikeRealMetal on 2012-03-16The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts - Vancouver

We arrived a couple of song into Carina Round's set and she can really belt out a note. Her set had a solid performance that we enjoyed. The video in between bands was well done and had plenty of laughs. Puscifer absolutely blew me away with the thought they had put into their set. From the moment Maynard walked on stage with the trailer I was hooked. The stage setup was well thought out an fit perfectly with their music. Each song had unique visuals to accompany it and there was not a dull moment on that stage. The venue was perfect and the sound quality was so crisp and did not blow out my ear drums.

    Awesome show!

by Anonymous on 2012-03-15Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall - Portland, Oregon

One of the best concerts I have ever seen! We saw them in Portland last night (March 14th) and it was absolutely perfect. The sound and stage set up was awesome and we loved the interaction with Corina Round. Like others have said, MJK was spectacular (as always) but, in addition, the entire band was flawless. We wished we could have had a glass of wine with them at the end of the show. Portland loves you Puscifer and Corina! Please come back to see us soon. Do not miss this show!
