About

Formed in 1967, signed in 1971, and fronted by iconic vocalist Kevin Cronin since 1972, REO Speedwagon's unrelenting drive, as well as non-stop touring and recording jump-started the burgeoning rock movement in the Midwest. Platinum albums and radio staples soon followed, setting the stage for the release of the band's explosive Hi Infidelity in 1980, which contained the massive hit singles "Keep On Loving You" and "Take It On the Run." That landmark album spent 15 weeks in the No. 1 slot and has since earned the RIAA's coveted 10X Diamond Award for surpassing sales of 10 million units in the United States.

From 1977 to 1989, the band released nine consecutive albums all certified Platinum or higher. Today, REO Speedwagon has sold more than 40 million albums around the globe, and Cronin and bandmates Bruce Hall (bass), Dave Amato (guitar), Bryan Hitt (drums), and Derek Hilland (touring keyboardist) are still electrifying audiences worldwide in concert with hits and fan-favorites such as "Ridin' The Storm Out," "Can't Fight This Feeling," "Time For Me To Fly," "Roll With The Changes," the aforementioned "Keep On Loving You" and "Take It On the Run," and many, many more.

    Great show, questionable venue

by trevc on 2023-05-07Grey Eagle Event Centre - Calgary

With a seat in Row Q, Section 6 I never had such a bad experience at the Grey Eagle. You couldn't even see ANY of the back screen let alone the band members and essentially relegated to watching the TV screen to participate in the band. Further, the sound bounced off the wall by the bar creating a hugely distracting echo. With the negativity out of the way, really great band and with the Ode to Gordon Lightfoot was the icing on the cake!

Great place to see concerts. Not a bad seat in the house. Staff are excellent. REO was fantastic. Still sounded great after all these years.

    Best concert ever.

by Max on 2023-05-07Grey Eagle Event Centre - Calgary

We were really impressed by the concert. All the songs we loved were played and we had a great time. The sound quality was perfect which can be touch and go at the Grey Eagle venue. They had their own sound people so that is probably why.

    REO at the Avalon Theatre

by DJ Dave on 2022-08-26The Avalon Theatre At Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort - Niagara Falls

What an incredibly intimate venue with 1,600 seats, amazing sight lines and acoustics! REO performed a 90 minute set full of energetic hits. What strikes me the most is how much genuine fun these 5 guys have night in and night out. They really seem to enjoy playing with each other and it results in a great show. I have to see them again!!

    REO ROCKED

by Karen M on 2022-08-26The Avalon Theatre At Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort - Niagara Falls

What an incredible experience. We felt 17 again. The audience was up dancing and you could tell that the band were all really into it and enjoying themselves. It was well worth the wait and we would see them again. Thanks for the memories!

Band was great, worked well with the crowd to entertain.

Band was great. Sound on lead vocals a bit too strong. Hurt the ears

    The band was tight....great show

by Naps on 2022-08-26The Avalon Theatre At Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort - Niagara Falls

First rock concert in a couple years. REO Speedwagon did not disappoint. Intimate, small venue makes for a great show. The only downfall was being seated next to a couple that blocked my wifes view while they both recorded every song with there phones.

    Amazing Show!

by Ajn on 2022-08-26The Avalon Theatre At Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort - Niagara Falls

Great venue…perfect seating great sound and REO Speedwagon still sounds just at good as younger days! The only thing I would complain about was the long line for the bar which made us miss the beginning of the show and my favourite song!

    REO Speedwagon

by Violet on 2022-08-26The Avalon Theatre At Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort - Niagara Falls

Great band, great songs but the sound was way too loud for the size of the venue. As a result the music wasn’t clean and crisp but rather distorted to some degree. We attended a number of concerts at the casino over the years and were really looking forward to REO Speedwagon but unfortunately whoever was mixing the music should have altered the sound levels for the venue size. Interestingly enough we were speaking to others who also attended the concert and they had the same reaction as well.

Can bands turn the volume down to more enjoyable levels?

by Surprised on 2022-08-26The Avalon Theatre At Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort - Niagara Falls

Awesome band with great hit songs and engaging lead singer! Surprised by how excessively loud and therefore distorted the sound and mixing was and therefore was unable to hear or really enjoy the music :( Can bands turn the volume down to enjoyable levels??

    They sound great!

by Inner Child on 2022-08-26The Avalon Theatre At Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort - Niagara Falls

Kevin Cronin's voice and energy are amazing. He has turned 70 but from where I was sitting (not a bad seat in the house at the Avalon) , he could pass for 50. And the band has been playing together so long they are flawless. For some of the songs they didn't even have to look at each other for the final few notes of the song like most bands do, even the good ones. So glad I went.

Great show, excellent sound & guests were masked. Awesome!

by Jazzy on 2022-01-05The Colosseum at Caesars Windsor - Windsor

Venue staff were very organized, with easy to follow directions. Staff very observant and effective in directing the rare guests not fully following mask rules. Felt as safe as is possible in these times. Concert was fantastic.

What happened to the great sound?

by Schnick on 2021-12-27The Colosseum at Caesars Windsor - Windsor

They put on a great show but the sound was muddy, unusual for the colosseum. I've been to many shows at Caesars Colosseum and the sound was better than any other venue.

by LidMike on 2021-12-14The Colosseum at Caesars Windsor - Windsor

Excellent concert. Lead singer is 70 years ago, job well done. Entry coming in was smooth and efficient. Long time waiting but well worth it. Keep them coming.

    Only 2-3 Top Hits

by Maryjogirl on 2021-12-14The Colosseum at Caesars Windsor - Windsor

I was so excited to see this concert and hear all the classics that made REO Speedway famous! But unfortunately they only played 2-3 songs that were hits. People started walking out the concert in droves. I stayed thinking they have got to play some good songs soon! But they didn’t. It was not worth seeing.

    Awesome concert

by Dave on 2021-12-14The Colosseum at Caesars Windsor - Windsor

Felt that there were to many people removing their mask throughout the concert to drink, during covid I think there should be no drinking in the concert hall as fans are much to close to be removing mask to drink most people left mask off for entire drink and why should I be at risk for them to have a beer? other than that REO Speedwagon were amazing, loved the concert.

    Poor venue management

by Reech on 2021-12-14The Colosseum at Caesars Windsor - Windsor

The band was great, but don't buy your tickets anywhere in the first five rows sitting center stage. As soon as the lights go down approx 150 people just walked from the back to the front of the stage and remained standing there the entire concert. Anyone who had bought a center stage ticket in the first five rows virtually saw nothing. Management did nothing to remove the people, unbelievable.
