About

Rihanna is nothing if not prolific. Since her 2005 debut, the 25-year-old singer has released seven albums and racked up twelve No. 1 singles, setting a record in the process as the solo artist with the fastest accumulation of ten chart-topping singles – a feat she accomplished in just under five years. A quick scroll through the radio dial will confirm that Rihanna is the most ubiquitous figure in Top 40 airplay, and considering her rapid-fire release schedule, it’s hardly a surprise that she recently edged out her idol Whitney Houston to become the artist with the ninth most Top 10 singles ever (24 in total). After hugely successful collaborations with Eminem in 2010 (“Love the Way You Lie”) and Drake in 2012 (Take Care), Rihanna scored her first U.S. No. 1 album with 2012’s Unapologetic, which includes the hugely successful “Diamonds” and “Stay.” Rihanna is shining bright in concert on the 2013 Diamonds World Tour -- opening acts 2 Chainz and A$AP Rocky are worth the ticket price alone.

Born in Barbados in 1988, Rihanna grew up listening to reggae and began singing at age seven. As a teen, her Caribbean-influenced demos attracted the attention of label execs, and in 2005 she auditioned for Jay-Z, signing a six-album record deal with Def Jam Recordings the same day. Her first two albums, Mother of the Sun (2005) and A Girl Like Me (2006), spawned hit singles “Pon De Replay” and chart-topper “S.O.S.,” but it wasn’t until “Umbrella,” from third album Good Girl Gone Bad (2007), that she cemented her place as a serious contender to the pop throne. Originally written for Britney Spears, “Umbrella” peaked at No. 1 and earned Rihanna her first Grammy for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration. A string of platinum-selling albums would follow, including Loud (2010) and Talk That Talk (2011), both of which featured an increasingly dance-oriented sound, including chart-topping club anthems “Only Girl (In the World)” and “We Found Love.” After terminating her tumultuous on-again, off-again relationship with rapper Chris Brown, Rihanna released Unapologetic in 2013 to positive reviews – and a No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200.

    Meh overall

    by JU81 on 2016-04-26Rogers Arena - Vancouver

Rihanna sounded great, but was only performing for 1.5 hours INCLUDING numerous costume changed. Concert started at 7:30 pm, Rihanna didn't come out until 9:30 am. That's a lot of "filler" to sit through. The opening acts were nothing memorable. Meh overall. I wouldn't have bought tickets if I knew what I know now.

Great music but would like a little more conversation other than mentioning Vancouver so many times.

Rihanna put on a great performance, hype dj at the start got things going, then opening act Travis Scott was quite good also, Rihanna gave a great performance, did alot of her new songs and a few older hits, would recommend to anyone if she is coming to your city.

Opening act awful. Rhianna a bit disappointing. Only 1hr 15mins performance.....but that was enough for me.

Most dissappointing concert I've ever been. Rhianna was ver lacklustre, felt like she didn't want to be there. The show was very boring, except her opening number.

Lots of fun! She played a good mix between the new album and the old hits. I danced the whole time and had a blast.

    Unforgettable evening

by VickyG on 2016-04-26Rogers Arena - Vancouver

This concert was definitely awesome. The first song involved Rihanna singing and dancing on a see-through platform, above the crowd, situated on the floor area. Rihanna's voice and moves were perfect, and the whole Rogers arena @ Vancouver was celebrating.

    Rihanna sucked

by Anonymous on 2016-04-26Rogers Arena - Vancouver

Cant say enough about how disappointing Rihanna concert was. The lip synching was quite obvious and she wasn't even good at doing that. The concert was short and it's the first time I seen a concert that the crowd didn't yell for an encord. Great company with great friends lots of laughs but concert sucked. Will never go see her again.

    Disappointing Rihanna

by cobraja on 2016-04-26Rogers Arena - Vancouver

Didn't take the stage until 9.30 and then seemed to want to put on a fashion show - costume change after each song. Set was bizarre and we saw more of the dancers than her. First time we've ever left a show well before the end. Compared to Beyonce she's run of the mill.

    Rihanna: Anti World Tour

by Spacksassy on 2016-04-25Scotiabank Saddledome - Calgary

Total disappointment. Bought tickets because my daughter wanted to go. She lip synced half the concert, was late starting and only sang for a total of 45 minutes, if you take out costume changes. DIva all the way. What happened to the good old days when concerts cost half us much and you walked out impressed. There was not even an encore, I have never seen this. I have been to a lot of concerts in my day and this one was the worst. I will never buy tickets to this one again.

    She was absolutely amazing !!

    by Jessie0 on 2016-04-22MTS Centre - Winnipeg

Great performance. She made everyone feel like they had a great show and she took her time making sure she used the whole stage. Her dancers are great at what they do and do a awesome job entertaining you when she has clothing changes. Great background and at the end she thanks everyone that works on the tour even down to the people that catered the food. You don't see many "big" people do that so I think it just show how great she is.

    Rihanna is the queen

by powerplay on 2016-04-22MTS Centre - Winnipeg

Rihanna has performed one of her best concerts and gave fans exactly what they wanted. Her Anti World Tour songs mixed in with older hits made fan drool for more. I still am singing the songs and envisioning the concert as I drive to work listening to her CD. She has reached my heart with her new songs like Kiss it Better and Desperado.

    Rihanna- bad vocals

by steingart on 2016-04-21MTS Centre - Winnipeg

Set design was forgettable. Back up singers did almost 40 -50 % of the vocals. She had some good dance moves but vocals were compromised.

    Rihanna Anti World Tour

    by Chels123 on 2016-04-21MTS Centre - Winnipeg

The concert was enjoyable once Rihanna started. The show did start a little late. I did not enjoy the opening act and was disappointed she did not do an encore. I love her older music and wish she had referenced back more to it. I do not have the new cd. If I was more familiar with the songs I may have enjoyed it more. The stage and set up was good. I loved the dancers, very entertaining. Her singing was on point, very talented performer. I struggled to understand the anti world theme.
