About

Rob Zombie has mastered all angles of shock rock’s horror theatrics as both the frontman of his own “spookshow” solo act and the writer, director and music supervisor for nightmare-fueling films like 2005’s The Devil’s Rejects and the 2009 remake of Halloween. Zombie broke into the New York underground scene in 1985 as the co-founder and vocalist of White Zombie. By combining a childhood obsession for classic horror movies with musical interests that ranged from industrial rock to dance music, he cemented the band as one of the most influential alternative-metal acts ever by the time they disbanded in 1998. Rob Zombie continued his experimentation as a solo artist with his 1998 debut album Hellbilly Deluxe: 13 Tales of Cadaverous Cavorting Inside the Spookshow International, which debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 chart and went triple-platinum behind his two highest-charting singles on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay chart, “Dragula” and “Living Dead Girl.” After directing many of the music videos for White Zombie and his self-titled act, Zombie took his terrifying performance aesthetics to the big screen with his feature directorial debut, House of 1000 Corpses (2003). He’s simultaneously pursued both artistic outlets ever since, releasing his seventh solo album The Lunar Injection Kool Aid Eclipse Conspiracy in 2021 while directing the film adaptation of The Munsters in 2022.

An amazing concert. All the hits which sounded great at a sold out show. Second time seeing Rob Zombie. First time was way better at Copps in Hamilton as the pyro was amazing, but kewl to see him just play the music at a smaller venue.

    excellent rocking time

Opening band Necromantix were surprisingly good. female drummer added zesty energy. Rob Zombie came out and completely rocked the house. The background video display really added to the show and effectiveness of presentation. The 3 musicians in the band produced a surprisingly full sound. wicked final guitar solo!

    Zombie Killed

by darkhouse on 2009-11-29Sound Academy - Toronto

I saw Rob Zombie last time he was here at the Air Canada Centre. Hands down the best show I'd ever seen. Knowing that this was a much smaller venue, I was curious what he would do. While there were no pyrotechnics, there was LOTS of video, between the projector behind and the videotron, it made for some awesome visuals. The band was amazingly tight, I don't think a single note was missed. John 5 is a guitar god. The only person who was a little "off" was Rob Zombie himself, but that's only because he's running around the whole time and I'm sure he runs out of breath. The 2 opening bands were also very good. Rockabilly seems to be a new trend and a welcome one at that. Captain Clegg looked and sounded great. The stand-up bass and steel guitar makes some great sound. Nekromantix was also very good, a little more on the punk side, but still rockabilly (psychobilly?) at heart. The 3 piece band sounded big. The female drummer tore it up with some fast beats, but never missed a step. All in all, it was a great rock show at a small venue, and Rob was able to keep the show as big as possible. Can't wait for the CD and the next tour.
