Rock the Rink Tickets

The skating portion of the show was excellent as usual. The skating was superb, the costumes awesome, the routines new and exciting. what I did not like was the interval between the rock ban tear down and the start of the skating. No announcement was made saying anything about the wait. This was remiss and should be addressed. This is one of many events I have attended and I will attend more in the future.

First hour of was a waste of time , sound system was terrible when the band was playing , after they played 20-25 minutes the tear down of the stage and then resurfacing the ice . This was my first time attending a ice show like this , the skating was great , I really enjoyed this part of the show , again first hour was a waste of time it seemed to be done to just to add a hour to the show to make it look like you're getting a longer show than what it really was .

People around me had their fingers in their ears because the sound was so loud. I reported it to Customer Service but nothing was done.. There were lots of children there. We left and our ears were ringing!! Shame! The band wasn’t very good either.

The skating show itself was beautiful, incredible and well worth seeing. However we did not enjoy the band-only concert opening (40 mins) followed by a 20+ minute intermission - an hour before the skating started. The rating would have been 5 stars if the band opening had been limited to a couple of songs and the intermission placed more at the halfway mark.

I would have appreciated more integration between the band and the skaters. The stand-alone "concert" portion was not only unanticipated, but out of place. Live music during the skating however, would have been a harmonious union.

We thoroughly enjoyed the show that the skaters put on. I'm sure we would have enjoyed the band as well if the acoustics were better. It was very hard to here any lyrics from their songs. Disappointing.

Didn't sign up for all the loud music. Wouldn't have come if I knew my ears had to endure it. The little girl in front of me sat with her little hands on her ears. I hope she can still hear when she gets older if she has to listen to such loud noises. I thought Rock the Rink meant the skaters were going to rock the rink. Make it a little clearer in the future.

The music was too loud !!!!!! I took my hearing aides out and it was still too loud!

As it was first show of tour a little awkward in staging, but I really enjoyed it. Great to see Elvis !! Sorry to see Tessa and Scott retire Overall good show

Loved the skating - top notch as anticipated from all the artists. Was disappointed to have the first hour taken up with the band - not what we came to see or hear. Would much rather have had that hour filled with more skating. The band opening first just seemed to make the audience restless for the real show to start. So sorry to see this dream couple end their journey together. They really have been our shining light, not just in Canada but around the world. Thank you again, Tessa and Scott. Forever in our hearts.

Hands Down to the Organizers of Rock The Rink!! This was such an EPIC PHENOMENAL EVENT!! Thank you Abbotsford for hosting such a great event!!

Disappointed by the opening. Came to watch skating, not the band.The 1st hour wait included an ice resurfacing! The cast seemed sparse and some cast members seemed out of shape and unprepared. Scott and Tessa were very prepared and made the whole show worthwhile. Love love love them! I cried when they did their farewell number.

Great show! We were smiling from ear to ear during the entire performance! Great music choices as well!

The skaters put on a most wonderful show with a great variety of numbers. The group numbers were tastefully choreographed, & the solos showcasing the best of each skater. The farewell numbers done by Tessa & Scott pulled at the emotions of everyone watching, ending with a standing ovation. The skating portion of the evening was 1.5 hours without a break, however it did not start until one hour into the evening. The first half hour was the live band, who was unknown to me, so was just okay for my taste, then a half hour break to remove the band's set & clean the ice. That left us wondering when the real show was going to start. Thankfully it was worth waiting for. The piece the band did with the skaters in the second half was excellent & showcased the band's musical talents. The Abbotsford Centre is a great venue, a comfortable size, & most seats are good seats. Unfortunately the corners were priced at the top of the price range & those seats remained empty. If they had been appropriately priced, I'm sure they would have been full too.

Just a comment on my experience. I took my two grandgirls, aged 7 & 9 as a treat. After arriving 1/2 hour early to avoid a rush at the door (and parking lot) we waited for an hour and a half for the skating performance to actually begin. The rock band, although admittedly was good, it was not what we paid to see. The girls were too tired by 9:00 pm so we left.... half way through the performance. I was disappointed to miss half the show which was delightful. I would strongly recommend starting the skating at the beginning for the younger crowd in the audience.

The skating was fabulous! To see world class skaters so close to home and in a fairly intimate setting (small rink) was really great. However we didn’t appreciate the opening band Bellwood Birds as the sound levels were ear-splittingly loud. Then we had to sit for another half hour and listen to more deafeningly loud canned rock music interspersed with ads from the Brick and Beautyrest. Not cool. Please adjust the sound levels and make it clear that the skating doesn’t start until 8. We would have arrived at 7:50 and been much happier. Thanks for bringing Tessa and Scott to Abbotsford.

The skaters show itself was fabulous! I loved the talent, the costumes the lighting ,props and was so great to see some of my skating idols up close. I had seats 3 rows up and centre ice. What I found frustrating was the length of time i had to wait for the main show to come on. I paid over 200.00 to see skating not a band where the sound was poor. There was again a 40 minute wait between band finishing and skating show start. I loved the band playing within the skating performances (as the band was very good and has some nice harmonies) but if I wanted to go see a band concert i would go and feel there was no indication on the website that there would be a pre show. When I saw “Stars on Ice” it was all about the skating. I wouldn't go again even with the headliners Tessa and Scott. I also would have liked to see more solo ice time for them.

My husband and really enjoyed the band. Never heard them before. The skating was amazing. The only thing that wasn't enjoyable was the 1/2 hour break in between shows. All the people around us were getting restless. It is hard for children or anyone to sit for that long. No one knew what was going on. Other than that my husband and I really enjoyed the show. Thank you.
