Rod and Gab are at their new best!

by Nick Po and Xandy on 2023-07-05

Not a dull moment! On top of the first rate performance and great sound there was an unbelievable light show. Great musicians, great crew. Rodrigo was thanking the crew, remembering every one personally. After the show Gabriela and Rodrigo didn't run away, but patiently (and happily!) shook hands and took selfies with their fans. Lesson to learn for many other artists. Very impressed!

First time seeing R y G. We were not disappointed! Way beyond expectations!!! They are at one with their guitars, you can feel the passion for their craft emanating right of the stage.

    Amazing show!!

    by Nooch483 on 2023-07-05

You go to concerts and you usually don't like the bands new material and wanna hear the classics. They played their whole new album and I had never heard it and it was incredible. Loved every tune and the combination of electric and acoustic really took their music to a new level. And of course they played some of their older stuff as well which just made it a perfect show.

    R y G great live as always

by Lune on 2012-04-19Massey Hall - Toronto

It was the second time I saw them live and they were as great as the last time - even though this time was at the Massey Hall, much bigger than the last (Phoenix). The collaboration with C.U.B.A. was good but I like much better seeing just R y G by themselves. Their sound can fill a big stage and when they add more musicians/instruments, it sounded a bit cluttered.

Rodrigo y Gabriela deliver as expected!

    by Ang246 on 2012-04-18Massey Hall - Toronto

Since seeing these 2 Guitar GODS on You Tube I have been hooked! His lead guitar influenced by his Metal background backed by her incredible strumming is a site to see! The energy and focus Gabriela shows on stage is incredible and I could watch her play all night! I would have preferred to see just the 2 guitar's on stage rather than with CUBA, but it was still a great show and would recommend it to anyone!

    Don't Miss Rodrigo Y Gabriela

by Mouseketeer on 2012-04-18Massey Hall - Toronto

Rodrigo Y Gabriela put on a fantastic live show. If you are a fan of their recordings, you should not miss any opportunity to see them in concert. They are currently touring with a 6 piece Cuban back-up band, who add a new and exciting dimension to songs from their older catalog. The performance was lively and entertaining, and Rodrigo and Gabriela were both completely charming. The solos were absolutely incredible to watch, and the songs have been stuck in my head for days.

This is the hidden gem of concerts. Rodrigo and Gabriela are two of the most exciting and talented guitar players alive today. Their hands work at lightning speed, and their sound and technique is uniquely their own. Who knew that combining a thrash metal background with latin rhythms and Celtic percussion (all played on the actual guitar, by the way) could create such an incredible sound? Even if you were not a fan of any of these styles individually, you could not help but be blown away after seeing them perform. Rodrigo and Gabriela are the forerunners in a shift in musical genres and will be individuals who inspire young musicians for decades to come. They are way ahead of their time and their love for music and people is evident. I look forward to watching them continue to evolve as artists and break musical barriers at every opportunity. I hope they come back again soon!
