About

RUSH took rock music into uncharted territory and to unmatched heights fueled by the once-in-a-lifetime interplay of Geddy Lee (bass, keys, vocals), Alex Lifeson (guitar, vocals), and the late Neil Peart (drums, lyrics). Selling over 45 million albums worldwide, garnering seven Grammy Award nominations, tallying billions of streams, and earning induction into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame, the pioneering trio’s incalculable influence has spanned generations, attracting one of the most ardent audiences in history. These musicians effectively reimagined and redefined rock without boundaries, striking a balance between elite instrumentation, anthemic vocals, provocative lyricism, and timeless storytelling both sonically and thematically. RUSH notably achieved “the third most consecutive gold/platinum studio albums by a rock band behind only the Beatles and the Rolling Stones.” Furthermore, their accolades have included becoming Officers of the Order of Canada in 1996, achieving the Canadian Governor General’s Performing Arts Award in 2012, and receiving recognition with both a star on the Canada Walk of Fame and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The world tragically said goodbye to Peart on January 7, 2020 following his battle with brain cancer. Honoring Peart and the legacy the band had forged together, Lee and Lifeson celebrate RUSH on tour in 2026. It’s a moment for new listeners to finally experience this music live in all of its glory and another chance for the group’s faithful fanbase to rally again.

  • Rush lived up to their billing

by bengay on 2012-09-30Credit Union Centre - SaskatoonRating: 5 out of 5

The band played for 3 hours with one short break, there was no opening act and it was non-stop. The music they paly is their trademark. Rolling Stone still has not put them in their Roch n Roll Hall of Fame...Who the hell cares...Rush is recognized worldwide and are a Canadian Icon...Was more then worth the wait to see these amazing artists for the 1st time...It was pure music heaven...

Very good but the sound mixing was off. Getty's voice was often drowned out.

  • Poor sound ruined otherwise great concert!

    by Schaef48 on 2012-09-30MTS Centre - WinnipegRating: 2 out of 5

I saw Rush in Winnipeg on the 26th and was so terribly disappointed by the sound quality. I’ve now seen them 4 times over the past few tours (both Winnipeg and St. Paul) before the other night and always was impressed with the sound quality for an arena concert. As a musician and a huge fan for more than 30 years, I attend a Rush show to hear them play all those incredibly intricate songs that I love but honestly some songs were almost unrecognizable. The drums seemed to overpower everything yet when Neil played you couldn’t really make out any of the detail of his fills or hear the cymbals. It was a muddy, muddy mess. I was hoping that the sound crew would have it worked out after a couple of songs but it never got any better. I walked around to some of the other gates and I thought some spots were marginally better but still not great. I was talking to people around me after the 1st set and most people were very surprised with the por sound as the MTS Centre is generally very good acoustically for an arena. This time were sitting in the 200 level (lower bowl) on the side about centre ice ($105 each) so we definitely were not in the cheap seats. Last time they were here we sat in almost the exact same spot on the other side of the rink and thought the sound was excellent.

  • WHAT A RUSH!!

    by bullworker1 on 2012-09-30Credit Union Centre - SaskatoonRating: 5 out of 5

An Evening With Rush - Clockwork Angels Tour hit Saskatoon on Friday September 28. After a long absence, it was great to have Geddy, Alex & Neil playing their hearts out to their fans. Incredible performances and great stamina by some old dudes! Amazing to think this sound comes from only 3 very talented individuals.

  • Excellent

Anytime Rush is playing live, its a treat! Dont miss them!

  • by Roddy on 2012-09-30MTS Centre - WinnipegRating: 5 out of 5

A deadly show from a killer Canadian band. Starting with Subdivisions and finishing 3 plus hours later with the entire 2112 suite, peppered with great selections from 11 albums. Great stage presence and production made this show crazy awesome!

  • by alcol on 2012-09-30MTS Centre - WinnipegRating: 2 out of 5

Yes we know there's a new album! But Rush fans will buy it without having to watch a concert dedicated to it. We want to want to watch and hear more of the old stuff.

If you love RUSH, you will love their concerts! Their videos were entertaining and the phyrotechnics were pretty cool!

  • Not my favourite RUSH show....

by wendyrmt on 2012-09-29MTS Centre - WinnipegRating: 3 out of 5

Least favourite RUSH show to date (9 so far for me since 1980) The sound was poor even right beside the sound board. You could not understand a single word that Geddy sang. I even moved around the arena looking for the best sound ( yes I am the kind of hear). Everything they did seemed to be anti-climatic in some way and them BOOM some pyro techniques which was almost sad as that was the high light at many times for the audience. Then when Neil's drum kit finally rotated, again so anti-climatic. The whole thing just seemed almost dumb, especially for RUSH of all people. Their set list I thought was weak and the order played was almost boring. I honestly found my self sitting waiting for something great to happen, I mean it's RUSH man!! Then things changed dramatically during their last half a dozen songs when they broke into older more popular songs. It was like being at a completely different venue!!!?!?!?!? That was bitter sweat! I realize RUSH is RUSH and have some 300+ songs to choose from and it was the Clockworks Angels tour. I just think the whole thing could/should have been better choreographed much much much better!!! I took my 12 yr old son to his very first Rock concert this night, he loved it but I honestly was a little bored as I was unfamiliar with a lot of the songs in the set list. Mind you I stopped buying RUSH Albums post Moving Pictures. Their music went way too New Wave for me. BUT then FEEDBACK came out and I was happy Fan once again followed by Snakes and Arrows. I'm to the point that may be my last RUSH concert. I guess I'm stuck in the 70's. Cheers

  • 35 years...Worth The Wait

    by Celtic7 on 2012-09-29MTS Centre - WinnipegRating: 5 out of 5

I haven't been this stoked about a concert in many years. The last time I saw RUSH was exactly 35 years ago on their "Farewell To Kings" tour back in 1977. I couldn't attend the last visit 3 years ago but vowed not to miss this tour. Boy, was it worth the wait. Right from the get-go, they opened with "Subdivisions" and continued with many favorites from the past such as Freewill, Tom Sawyer, Spirit of Radio, etc. as well as the new songs from '"Clockwork Angels". Plus, being in the 4th row on the floor was priceless. They are still so tight and solid as a band after all these years. Neil is still, and will always be, rocks greatest drummer since the death of John Bonham. Alex is still as smooth as ever. And Geddys' voice has still got it where many singers have totally lost it ie Robert Plant, Ian Gillan, etc. Can't wait till the next tour . ROCK ON!!!!

  • Good, but not great

    by kwk1 on 2012-09-29MTS Centre - WinnipegRating: 3 out of 5

Rush are talented and the stage show was very good.In fact, if they weren't such great misicians, I would not have liked the show very much. My beef is they played like 27 songs or so for 3 hours. They only played a few older songs which is the reason I went to the show. Having such a long set, surely they could have added more older material. If I had known the setlist, I may not have purchased tickets.

  • Rush was enjoyable

by Formerpegger on 2012-09-29MTS Centre - WinnipegRating: 3 out of 5

Although many of hits that made them famous were absent, the band that Canadians love to tell the world about put on an enjoyable concert in Winnipeg. This was the first and likely only concert my adult son and I will ever see together. To review it - I would saw that anyone who has followed Rush will likely say "an entertaining evening filled with great NEW music, an impressive visual performance, but one that lacked the hits that have made them one of rocks greatest bands". Anyone paying good money to hear there old favorites were no doubt disappointed. I understand the need to "sell" people on the new music however, that should not come at the expense of those classic songs that the paying public have supported since the mid 70's. I would need someone to convince me that going to a future RUSH concert makes financial sense. I / we have the right to expect to hear more of the hits that have made them a Canadian icon, those that Candians have supported since the 70's. This isn't an old guys rant, just an old fan who tried to convince new fans (my 25 yr old son) that Rush is still great and even better than most worldly bands still out there today (eg. The Stones, The Who, U2, etc). Sadly I believe the reason for the absence of hits is due to Geddy's imability(?) to hit the high notes in classics such as Limelight, Closer to the Heart, and Xanadu. So the question "would I see them on their next tour?" hmmm.....not sure.

  • Great Night

by MrFuG on 2012-09-29MTS Centre - WinnipegRating: 5 out of 5

3 hours of some of the best musical talent on earth. 1st set was a good mix of songs, older/newer. 2nd set was a lot of Clockwork Angels songs. Encore. Some classic old tunes as to be expected. We ended up getting moved up from row 38 centre floor to row 12 centre floor. Yay! Crowd was on its feet the whole show. Guys looked like they were enjoying playing which made it that more enjoyable. Would see them again tomorrow if they came. Amazing!

  • Rush was a Rush!

    by atki63 on 2012-09-28MTS Centre - WinnipegRating: 5 out of 5

For the past four decades they've blazed their own path through the hard business of rock. They still blaze their own way garnering new fans while still paying heed to the old ones. Geddy still bounces around on the stage as if he's 20 and Neal effortless shows why he's still in the top 3 drummers of the world. You could just tell when Alex was in that zone of ethereal guitar magic sending tingles up and down spines. As my 14 year old daughter and her friend say "They're epically awesome".

  • Excellent as usual
