Sarah Harmer is a fantastic performer. The venue however, was less than ideal.

    Sarah Harmer is...wow!

by jdiddy on 2011-01-24The Starlite Room - Edmonton

We were made to wait outside in the freezing cold past the time the doors were supposed to open, but that was all forgotten once we made it inside. The acts were great. Gentlemen Reg was a good opener. We didn't have to wait very long in between for Sarah to come out, which was great. Sarah and her band were amazing. They interacted well with the crowd and played a good mix of old and new songs. Not a lot of chatter, lots of music, everyone was so talented. We would definitely see her in concert again.

    Not the greatest

by budlum on 2011-01-22The Starlite Room - Edmonton

Sarah was spot on... her music was pretty good, although they did mention they were hung over from the night before, which probably showed up in her engagement level. The average rating comes from three main things: the opening act was brutal, there was next to nowhere to sit and there was no way to tell in advance when the show was going to start.

    Sarah Harmer at Starlite Room

by Craiger9929 on 2011-01-21The Starlite Room - Edmonton

It started out poorly having to wait outside in freezing temperatures for over 30 mins as they wouldn't open the doors. Doors opened at 7 pm but she didn't play until 9 pm (funny how the tix didn't say this). Had I known this, I wouldn't have purchased the tix as I work in the early am. Opening band was pretty bad, venue was very disappointing, as were the drinks and the service. The sound was also very poor quality. I won't be back to the Starlite ever again.

Sarah Harmer wows the crowd again!

by cdn3034 on 2011-01-16The Commodore - OK room sound, but isn't a great venue unless you like standing for 4 hours. - Vancouver

Great concert -Harmer has many great songs and tonight she played almost all of them flawlessly... tight band with good and sometimes unexpected arrangements and great pacing. Played for over 2 hours with encores. A must -see performer! Event was 01/15/2011

The concert was fantastic. Sarah Harmer knows how to connect with the audience and even played an old Weeping Tile song. Opening act "Hey Rosetta!" was also fantastic. All in all, a great show.

Sarah Harmer - A love in

by RickieRIck on 2010-11-22Massey Hall - Toronto

Saw the concert last week and it was terrific. Sarah and her band played a great selection of new and old, mixing it up with acoustic and some heavier guitar. A really great mix with some fabulous musicians. The backdrop and lighting worked really well too. They came back 3 times for encores much to the delight of the sort of hometown fans. Try and catch her show somewhere else.

    I love Sarah Harmer!!

by Frankstie on 2010-11-22Massey Hall - Toronto

Sarah Harmer was an incredible show, she and her band sounded wonderful as usual. I was sad when the night came to an end and would go again in a second if given the chance!

    The show was great

    by RM54 on 2010-11-22Massey Hall - Toronto

The opening band, I didn't catch their name, had a high musical IQ. They songs ebbed and flowed. Sarah Harmer and her band, even though it was their 2ns last show of the tour which started in June was impressive. Fatigue caught up to them about 90 minutes in but they got their 2nd wind and blasted through the remainder. Sarah played for more than 2 hours and given this is the 1st time I had heard her music, I was impressed

Harmer & Hey Rosetta not to be missed!!

by jsem on 2010-11-18The Music Hall - LONDON

Indy rock band Hey Rosetta were the best opening act I have seen in years. I could have listened to them all night. I never heard of them before seeing them on the ticket. Read their bio on the internet and I hope to see them live again. Lead vocalist has a great voice and was backed by strong guitar, string bass, violin and drum accompaniment. Sarah Harmer had excellent musicians performing with her on stage. I just bought her recent 2010 CD and they played most of the tracks. The London Music Hall was hopping!!! The crowd appreciated her energy, lyrics and music. Her lead guitarist was amazing. The four encore tunes were a bonus. Looking forward to seeing her again soon. Don't miss the opportunity.

    Sarah, lovely as always

by Julez on 2010-09-24Kelowna Community Theatre - Kelowna

The Bahamas were refreshing and delightfully funny. Sarah was wonderful. The sound and lights were great. As always her voice was perfect in every way. Her back singer / keyboardist also has a lovely voice. Her guitarist rocked!

    A truly memorable evening!

by jennymb on 2010-09-23Kelowna Community Theatre - Kelowna

Sarah was so funny, and does an amazing job with connecting to the audience. Her band was excellent, but she was the shining star. Her voice has so much personality. I felt like we were friends at the end of the show.

    You will leave smiling

by sbutter on 2010-09-23Kelowna Community Theatre - Kelowna

This show was equal parts amazing musical performances and hilarious comedy show - and I loved every minute of it! Both Sarah Harmer and Afie Jurvanen (of the Bahamas) impressed with their singing and songwriting abilities, but really won me over with their funny banter between songs. If I was a much cooler person, I could definitely see myself being friends with them.

    Great night!

by Ellypsis on 2010-09-23Kelowna Community Theatre - Kelowna

Bahamas was OUTSTANDING(!!!) but I didn't like the venue for the opener - it would have been better if I'd been sitting at a high top table in a pub with a couple of pints in front of me. I prefer smaller venues for concerts because you can get closer to the musicians and it feels more intimate and connected but the Kelowna Community made it feel too far removed and a bit awkward - plus all the people who had tickets up in the front rows were creeps and didn't show up for the opening act - they missed out! Sarah Harmer was great and, perhaps because there were more musicians on stage, the venue worked better for her show. Great music, good acoustics. Will be going to see Bahamas next time they're in town - hopefully NOT at the Community Theatre.

    What a voice!

by Danshell on 2010-09-23Kelowna Community Theatre - Kelowna

We had an awesome time at Sarah's concert! Brought our son-in-law who was not too excited about coming but he really enjoyed it! Sarah played all the songs we wanted to hear and we heard new songs too-- we are going to buy her new CD.

    Unexpected suprise

by Debalina on 2010-09-23Kelowna Community Theatre - Kelowna

I only really knew one somgfrom Sarah Harmer, but have always heard how talented she is and after seeing her in concert, I think she rises above other Canadian singers such as Jann Arden and Sara Maclaughlin, just based on her voice and the amount of personality she brough to the small stage here in Kelowna. Bahamas was the reat suprise though, as, even though it was just one guy with the odd accompanyment of the drummer, he held the audience and had us laughing all the while impressing us with his guitar skills and vocals.

Bahamas was a surprising treat. After listening to their album, I'm surprised I haven't heard more of them. Sarah Harmer and band is pretty solid. Overall, if you're into moody alt country/folk stuff, this is a great playbill.
