German heavy rock icons, SCORPIONS, will be bringing their 50th Anniversary Tour to Melbourne for their first-ever Australian show.
In 1988, the Hanoverian pioneers were the first Western rock band to play five consecutive sold-out shows in then Soviet Leningrad. Returning the following year to play the Moscow Music Peace festival, Scorpions ultimately conquered Russia, inspiring frontman Klaus Meine to write the track that became a theme song to the Iron Curtains final fall: Wind of Change.
Travelling to Australia for the first time in the 50-year history of the band, Scorpions, comprising Klaus Meine (vocals), Rudolf Schenker (guitar), Matthias Jabs (guitar), Mikkey Dee (drums) & Pawel Maciwoda (bass), will play their debut Australian show at Melbournes Palais Theatre on Tuesday October 18.

Five decades have passed by since the days the juvenile Klaus Meine, Rudolf Schenker and Matthias Jabs wandered the streets of Hanover, then just awakening from post war paralysis, with a barrow carrying their instruments and amplifiers. In those 50 years, they have become arguably Germanys most successful rock band, accumulating unit sales of more than 100 million, including certified album sales exceeding 22 million.
1979s Lovedrive was the bands first album to reach the Billboard 200, followed by the Top Ten hits Savage Amusement (1988), Love At First Sting (1984) and Blackout (1982). Top Ten Billboard hard rock albums include Sting In The Tail, Comeblack and MTV Unplugged.
The bands 1991 mega-hit ballad Wind Of Change peaked at #2 on the Billboard chart and hit #1 in seven countries, while the anthemic Rock You Like A Hurricane has been covered more than 150 times by different musicians.
Scorpions had further Top Ten hits, including: #1 No One Like You (1982), I Cant Explain (1989), Rhythm Of Love (1988), Tease Me, Please Me (1990), Send Me An Angel (1991) and Alien Nation (1993).
Few rock bands of this caliber take to the stage as often as Scorpions, embodying a much envied reputation as one of those very rare bands that have transcended time and risen far above the crowd.

I travelled from Ottawa to the Bell Centre in Montreal to see one of my all time favorite bands, The Scorpions. I wasn't disappointed! Rather I was blown away!! What an amazing experience. Getting my tickets, checking in and the event was terrific! No issues whatsoever and very easy to go through Ticketmaster. What a show! I was blown away and I am still reeling from the event. It was a bucket list item for me and was so pleased with my experience. If I get a chance to see The Scorpions again I will do it and I won't hesitate to use Ticketmaster again to get tickets out of town to events I would like to see. An overall awesome experience! Thank you.
The Scorpions are one of my favorite bands and they were awesome as usual. The show really exceeded my expectations as to them performing on schedule and the sound quality as well as the vocals and overall performance. It was an epic experience. LOVE the Scorpions!!!
The show was perfect, installations ok (seats could be a little larger, i was sitting besides a heavy guy and i was half seated on my seat ! The restorants offers should be improved. Thank you that was a great night!
Legends on stage! The only sad part is that there was no replacement for Whitesnake...
Absolutely EPIC SHOW!!! The Scorpions never disappoint. 🤘😎🤘
Whitesnake was entitled to give the show and at the end the didn't show up. Scorpions performed around 40 min
I finally realized what it means to be in the presence of true legends. The Scorpions was always on my bucket list and I had promised myself that I will be there when they tour again. To see them live for the first time was a feeling out of this world, incomparable to anything else I have felt in 53 years of my life. They still draw a full house that rocked the concert with them. For anyone in two minds, I can say, its well worth it to see these gods of rock bring down the stadium like they in their early years. No matter what is written, it will still not be able to capture the true magnanimity of this group and their presence at a live show. I'm thankful, I was there to rock with them!
... but sound was under par. Been to many shows in my life, sound that night just wasn't good.
I didn’t realize that white snake wasn’t going to show up and the sound was too loud for the voices, we left after the 3rd song, very disappointed
This was my third times seeing them in concerts and it was the best ever !!! Too bad Whitesnake wasn’t there…..and we kind of paid for them too ……
Show started on time...opener was new to me...they were solid. Scorpions gave us a taste of old and new...did not disapppoint! Would gladly see them again. Awesome time!!!
I've been grew up with Scorpions and I've been always in all their concert since 2010. Most of the events have been in Bell Centre. This time I've been with nine other friends in ground (Nord). I've been in Roger Waters concerts too on July 15th. But never had the terrible experience like this event. The sound quality was very bad. The sound was extremely laud and unclear that nobody be able to understand. Even when Klaus Mein was speaking. If didn't know the songs I couldn't realize which song they are playing. By my experiences in the their past events, I believe it's not their fault, it's Bell Centre's. It was really disappointing!
This was on 7th time seeing them and still no signs of slowing down yet. Worth every $$$
Overall Scorpions rocked the Bell Center but the promised double bill band was unfortunately not there…Would have been nice to review the ticket price….
Never too old to rock, and they can prove it ! Amazing
We were a bit disappointed about Whitesnake having to cancel but blown away by Thundermother! Scorpions were fantastic! Great venue and audience
Fantastic concert. Only wish I was told Whitesnake wouldn't be there by email so I would have arrived later.
