Well, let me first say I am one of the biggest Scott Weiland fans on the planet. I've been to see him with STP, VR, and his solo show here. This show at the Commodore however was one of the biggest disappointments in my extensive concert history. The band and Scott spent half the night jamming on lame psychedelic acid rock, playing with knobs on what looked like an old tube radio, making weird noises, it was a gong show to be kind. The new material simply has NO HOOKS AT ALL, just dull, droning things that never develop into any sort of melody. 1 Can stomach about 2 out of 10 songs he's released in his solo career, which seems to be getting worse each passing day. Too bad, I hate to see such a great and talented performer make such an utter fool of himself. It's obvious the writing talent in both STP and VR did not come from the creative imagination of Mr. Weiland. At this show, people were actually leaving after 5 or 6 songs, especially since a 20 solid minute noise-fest of a jam brought the entire tone of the show to a screeching halt by then! Bodies continued filtering out through the night, until there was less than a half-empty room to play for, which is VERY unusual for this great venue. All I can say is, I felt I wasted my money, and would not go to another solo show. I can only hope he gets back together with STP again, and saves his dying career......
